  If I understand your problem, I think it may have to do with the addresses stored in your address book. Thunderbird can display the name of your address book instead of the name of the post office, where corresponds to the e-mail address.

  The pop3 Checker will not work with apop.  Apop Protocol requires that we send a MD5 hash with the user name.  We can, adding this ability.  In the meantime, you can simply use the Socket TCP Checker to make sure that the port is up and listening.

  I found the answer on another forum by Tom Wijsman:

     Go to Options -> Advanced -> Config Editor.
  

     Find the Name mail.pop3.deleteFromServerOnMove
  

     Set it to True.
  

     True: Delete the copy of the message on the POP3 server if you move or delete the message.
  

     False(default): Only delete the copy of the message on the POP3 server if you delete the message.
  

  That of it, restart Thunderbird. You must press "Get Mail" whenever you want to synchronize with the mail server, so that you can to ensure that the messages in the application is in synchronization with the e-mail server.

• Problem installing license server

  I have a new server vCenter 4.0 operational and have added my new vSphere licenses 4.  Everything seems to work very well.

  We will replace our VirtualCenter 2.5 server entirely, so I try to install the stand-alone license 3.5 on my new server vCenter Server 4 so that it can Server licenses required for my 3.5 hosts until they are replaced by 4.0 hosts.

  The installation gets about 3/4 across and then generates an error indicating that it is not able to start the service.  A new attempt fails, and hit cancel cancels the whole installation.

  The server is a Windows 2008 Standard w/SP2 x 64.  Y at - there a trick to getting this installed that I'm missing?

  The problem is Windows Server 2008, cause old vCenter Server is designed only for 2003.

  I install OAM 10.1.4.3 with the Directory of the user as OVD 11.1.1.2 and store data strategy as OID 11.1.1.2.
  While the Installation of the first step is Identity Server installation and we need to provide connection parameters to the directory of the user such as host name, port, uid and pwd admin so this identity server can update the schema for this.
  
  I chose directory as 'Data anywhere' store for OVD and given parameters and when I say then it starts updates and continues on this issue. I waited for an hour or so, but no luck. Also engaged with the new installation but once again stuck to the top at this point.
  
  OVD is up & running on port 8899. Experts to give pointers on this.

  You should try the OVD service port and not the admin port. It can be SSL or open mode. In my opinion, one of the following conditions is true:

  Either: ovd does not work

  Or: there are problems of firewall server to server ovd oam.

  To find out, do a telnet ovd_host ovd_port in the oam server box and see if the telnet returns.

• Satellite P100-160: problems of Vista Outlook 2007 download mail from POP3 server

  I am running Vista on a Satellite P100-160 and you just install Office 2007. Initially, Outlook work very well and then changed to send only messages but not get it back. I tried to uninstall and reinstall but no improvement. I know that the server settings are very well because I can run from another machine on the same home network and download the mail.

  I also have Norton security on the computer and I wonder if somehow the Port used to download mail (110) may be blocked. Someone else had this problem or any suggestions on how to fix.

  As a last resort I clean the entire disk and re-install from the product recovery disc and see what happens.
