  This article is quite old: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/191946 but if you search for *.wab which will give you the address book, and it is probably corrupted.  You can click on it and check whether it is open or not.  If not, then look for * ~ * and who will be the backup of the address book.  Try to rename to give it a file extension wab and if it opens when you click it, and then replace the bad with it.  Otherwise, remove the old one and see if that fixes it.  You might be best by clicking file | Identities and setting a new identity and then see if it works fine.  If Yes, then you can import the old identity.

  Thanks for responding on the community forum.

  Given the nature of your question is how to find this download, click on start ORB / Control Panel / classic view / Windows Update - in the left pane click View Update

  If you can't find this update there, you might want to check all the hidden files and folders are listed in folder options.

  1. Click on start ORB / select Control Panel / see the classic / Folder Options / View tab on / under Settings Advanced hidden files and folders select SHOW all HIDDEN files and folders.

  You can then search for the download by Date and time.

  Windows key E / in the search line, type 15/04/2009 23:54 break-in.

  You should see the list of files/folders modified for the time.  Be sure to select the file that applies.

  Frankly, I think that the solution is a bit radical and would hesitate to make all those changes myself, so I do not recommend actually but present it as an option as it is put forward by Yahoo itself on this problem with Yahoo Messenger with Vista.  The choice to try (and risk) is entirely up to you.  If you decide to do, then I suggest first you create a system restore point and then I'd do more full backup, you are able to do.

  If you cannot do a full image backup because your version of Vista, then consider to download and install the free Macrium Reflect: http://www.macrium.com/ReflectFree.asp and follow the instructions to make the recovery disk and then create a backup of the image of your C: drive (assuming that's where Vista is installed) to a drive hard USB external so you can quickly and easily return to the point before you started if something bad happens during the process, or after the process.

• Outlook express 6 rebounds all incoming and outgoing messages on Wndows xp.

  I posted this question earlier, but apparently to the wrong forum.  I deleted all the messages in my nbox, sent items, deleted projects... All incoming and outgoing messages are bounced back indicating that the bytes are at their limit.  I don't know if the messages are stored on my server or not.  Don't know how to check.

  Is there a solution for this?

  In addition to the other suggestions, try to go to the file. Identities and setup a new identity.  Add your e-mail account to this identity and see if it will download messages and delete what is on the server.  The files can be corrupted in the old identity and may not delete messages from the server.  You can also contact your provider and e-mail them to check on errors.

  Keep a tab of discussion open for them. If there is already a tab open, chat works very well.

  When you click on their name, two tabs will appear - one showing a constant loading "dial". Close that one. Then just keep the other open tab.

  I know it's not practical if you have many contacts who chat with you, but if you have just a couple, it's at least a possibility to discuss with them by E-mail.

  Microphone internal generally on Toshiba laptops work correctly with different messengers, especially with Skype.
