Problem running Oracle 11 GR 2 YES on OEL5.6 32-bit Setup

Hello

I am installing Oracle 11 GR 2 in OEL5.6 32-bit.

I have followed all Heve requires them (http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/11g/OracleDB11gR2InstallationOnEnterpriseLinux5.php) steps up to running the script 'runInstaller' where I'm having a few problems.

I am trying to run the installer of my Windows desktop using PuTTY + Xming.
(I tested this configuration correctly by accessing another Oracle Linux box and power open the tools chart for example gedit)
The problem I get is the following:

$. / runInstaller
From Oracle Universal Installer...

Check the swap space: must be greater than 150 MB. Real 5951 MB passed

-For sh, ksh and bash: DISPLAY $ = 192.168.1.128:0.0; Export DISPLAY
Use the following command to see what shell is used:
echo $SHELL
Use the following command to display the current setting of the DISPLAY environment variable:
echo $DISPLAY
S ' ensure that client users are allowed to connect to the X server.
To enable client users to access the X server, open an xterm, dtterm or an xconsole as the user that started the session and type the command follows:
% xhost +.
To test that the DISPLAY environment variable is set up correctly, run only an X 11 program provided with the native operating system as 'xclock ':
% < full path for xclock... See below >
If you are not able to run xclock successfully, please consult your PC - X Server or the operating system provider for assistance.
Standard path for xclock: / usr/X11R6/bin/xclock
when I ssh the target machine, there is no DISPLAY variable set, and I can't allow my windows client to connect to the X Server:
$ xhost +.
xhost: unable to open display ' '
if I manually set the DISPLAY variable I get this:
$ export DISPLAY = localhost:0.0
$ xhost +.
xhost: cannot open display "localhost:0.0"
a few thoughts:
-I'm not sure if there is an X server on the machine or even installed. How can I check this properly? / usr/X11R6/bin/xclock isn't here.

-Even if there is no X server on the machine, DISPLAY to 'WINDOWS_DESKTOPMACHINE_IP:0.0' setting should work? I tried and get a similar error:
$ export DISPLAY = 10.3.30.145:0.0
$ xhost +.
xhost: cannot open display "10.3.30.145:0.0"
-iptables is disabled: State of
$ iptables service
Firewall is stopped.
-SELinux is disabled.

Any comments?
Thanks in advance.

You tried to perform a silent installation. This does not require the GUI is activated. It can be done at the command-line only.

Silent installations can be made with the help of "response file". "Response file" contains all entries that are required to do the installation in silent mode.

"Response file" can be created using one of the following methods:

-Model of response file supplied with installation kit:
Ex: <11gR2 disk="">/database/response/db_install.rsp
Copy "<11gR2 disk="">/database/response/db_install.rsp" to "db_install.rsp".
Edit "db_install.rsp" and change the values that fits your environment

-Save the answer file by using YES in interactive mode:
From 11 GR 2, user can save (Record) all the installation steps in a response the installation file. This can be achieved by clicking on the 'Save the response file' button on the summary page. Later, the saved response file can be used for a silent installation.

Once the file of created replies, the user can run the following command to perform a silent installation:
Windows: setup.exe - silent - responsefile ""\db_install.rsp " "
UNIX:. / runInstaller-silent - responsefile "db_install.rsp".

Silent installation even can be made directly from the command prompt without using a response file, but it requires a minimum set of variables (from the answer file) as arguments for the YES (i.e. "runInstaller or setup.exe").

For example, you can use the following commands to install in silent mode without a response file:

Database

The following command can be used to install the database (Enterprise Edition software only) in silent mode:

$ cd/11 GR 2/database
$. / runInstaller-silent - debug - force.
FROM_LOCATION=/11gR2/database/stage/products.Xml.------
Oracle.Install.option = INSTALL_DB_SWONLY.
UNIX_GROUP_NAME = oinstall.
INVENTORY_LOCATION = / u01/app/oracle/oraInventory------.
ORACLE_HOME = / u01/app/oracle/product/11201/db_1.
ORACLE_HOME_NAME = "OraDb11g_Home1".
ORACLE_BASE = / u01/app/oracle.
oracle.install.db.InstallEdition = EA.
oracle.install.db.isCustomInstall = false.
oracle.install.db.DBA_GROUP = dba.
oracle.install.db.OPER_GROUP = dba.

  • Problem running Oracle PDF reports on EBS

    Hello

    I installed Oracle EBS 11.5.9 and database version 9 on a virtualization computer running IBM AIX 5.3

    If xhost + is not running on the console, reports does not.

    On a non virtualized machine which is the autonomic system, after starting the Oracle database and services (application), one must connect as root on the console and run the command:

    # xhost +.
    disabled access control, customers can connect from any host

    Now, as the machines of virtualization is not a console, as well as the telnet session, how can I use the xhost + command to activate the PDF reports?

    running xhost + using xmanager on a virtualized machine will not work even if you get the message when you run the command of xmanager
    # xhost +.
    disabled access control, customers can connect from any host

    This is useful information from where I ran the xhost +.

    # echo $DISPLAY
    TestServer:0.0

    Note: testserver is the windows machine I used to connect to the Oracle Machine Xmanager

    # lscons
    / dev/vty2

    Note: the above shows that it is not console - lscons on a console would show as/dev/lft0

    bash - $3.2 cd/oracle/prodappl
    bash - $3.2. ./APPSPROD_test1.env
    bash - $3.2 grep-i $CONTEXT_FILE to display

    Anyone know the solution for this problem?

    applprod@Test1:/Oracle/prodappl >
    applprod@Test1:/Oracle/prodappl > xhost +.
    disabled access control, customers can connect from any host
    applprod@Test1:/Oracle/prodappl >
    applprod@Test1:/Oracle/prodappl > xclock &
    [1] 675940

    I tried the reports once again and the same error.

    I understand that you were able to run the command xclock, so in this case you must set the value of the variable DISPLAY (testserver:0.0) in the application context file, run AutoConfig and bounce the services again.

  • Problem: Running Oracle Forms 11 g (test.fmx) on client computers

    Hi all

    I installed 11g on WinServer2008 Forms. The WLS_FORMS begins on port 9001 and I can run test.fmx on the server via a browser (http://[server_name]:9001/forms/frmservlet).

    The problem is that when I try to run it from client computers using the same URL, it is not working at all.
    -Internet Explorer 9 says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage."
    -Mozilla Firefox 8 says "unable to connect. Firefox can't establish a connection to server [servername]: 9001. »

    Note:
    I can access http://[server_name]:7001/console & http://[server_name]:7001/em of client machines without problem.

    Does anyone have an idea?

    Best regards

    Rob

    Hi Rob,

    Why don't set you up a configuration in the formsweb.cfg file

    and executed using this config name.

    for example:
    [demo]
    Form = test.fmx
    UserID = scott/tiger@Instance_name
    workingDirectory = D:\working_dir

    http://[Server_IP_Address]:9001/forms/frmservlet?config=demo

    This can work.

    Even I faced the same problem. Using the name of the config, I can run the form.

    See you soon,.

    I have 2 different oracle servers to work with the sql developer. With one I can run debugger, with another - the errow above.

    In tools | Preferences | ebugger, you can specify a range of ports for the debugger to use so you can limit it to those that are open on the firewall.

    And just to check, is the ip address that is displayed in the CONNECT_TCP call the right one for your PC?

    If you get the script at startup error then try to perform the clean boot on the computer.

    From your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if a background program is interfering with your game or program. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot".

  • Move the database to the server running Oracle 11 G to the server running Oracle 12 c

    I'm trying to find the best way to migrate a database to a server that is running Oracle 11 G on a server that is running Oracle 12 c.

    I tried using the RMAN duplicate command of database but have run in many too many problems when you try to configure both servers before running the command duplicate.  If someone could provide some guidelines on configuring two servers of the RMAN Duplicate command clearly then that would be great.  The other thing, I've tried makes a cold backup of all files for the database (data files, control files, etc.).  Copy them to the new server, and then re-create the control file to include the correct location and names for the data files and the redologs.  After you re-create the database control file does not start.  I suspect that it is because of differences in version.

    If you can provide me with claire (ie. migration for Dummies) instructions to get one of these methods of work, it would be greatly appreciated.  I am also open to any other method you can think of to achieve what I'm trying to accomplish.

    Thank you

    Paul,

    Please, go to the PDF below he explains the process of upgrading.

    You can create all the tablepsaces and then use utility Import/export where the directory paths are different

  • Forms crashing when running Oracle Forms script functional in OTM

    Hello

    We try to run Oracle Ebiz forms related to scripts of functional test developed in Open Script in Oracle Test Manager.

    Exactly when the forms starts, the JRE is get crashed, and the script fails. What could be the reason.

    I added the path class in Control Panel for the JRE Java that comes with OATS and active 1.6.33 version that works quite well even when script is run using OpenScript, and not through OTM.

    Also, in windows services we have provided valid admin credentials to the execution of the service, instead of the user of the local computer.

    Any help and insight into this problem would be a great help.
