Problem: Shadow of light color on black background when printing

Using InDesign CS3, PC.

I have a book cover design that looks perfect on screen. There is a section with a black background and the letters of color above it. Also on top of this black background is a picture of a dinosaur (made in illustrator CS3). The image was placed in the InDesign file and has no color to the background. But when printed (Xerox Phaser), there is a colored shadow where the image superimposed on the black background section.

There are also colored boxes on the other black background sections where shadows (35%) occur on black background.

Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I've never dealt with 100% black in my drawings before and I have to do something wrong.

Again, on the screen, you don't see none of these colored areas on the black top. It's only when I print as they appear.

Thank you

Cathy

  • Shadow color on black background in CS5

I wonder if there is a way to create a shade of color on black background in Illustrator.  I use CS5 on a windows machine.  Shadow shows when I hide the black ground (of course) but I can't for the life of me, how to show at the top of the Earth, even after sendeing the "field" on the back.  I even tried the black "pattern" on its own layer and do it at the bottom of the Layers Palette.

I'd appreciate any help if possible.

The shadows are set in the mode multiply by default, I think. Multiply does not display on the black. If you change the normal mode, you'll see a colored shadow. This will be in the drop shadow dialog box.

  • Shadow has the color of the background

I really need help that this assignment is due in a few days and I can't understand what is wrong.

I made a page with objects that had brought on a custom background shadows. I was criticized by my professor to lighten the color of the background, but I had already flattened in a single layer. So I removed it with the intention of recreating a similar context. However when I put it behind the objects already here, the shadows of each object by default the color of the background. If I hide the background they come back to black. I have no idea how it happened. If I change the color of the shadow, he mixes with the color of the background. E.g. I have a yellow background. I changed the drop shadow to the red, and it's a shade of orange.

I use Photoshop CS6 on a 2010 MacBook Pro running OS X El Capitan.

What is the mode of fusion for shadows? And opacity? These two things will allow the future background with the color of the shadow.

It's just a problem with the display of 100% black. It won't be a problem in the press.

  • Text color on black background - does not

I created a document with a black covered two elements of text block.  One is white, the other is colored.  This is what it looks like on the screen:

    inDesign01.png

However, when printing, the black box shows only small white text.  The biggest title 'The Play of Daniel' is missing.

The text is on the top layer, while the black box is on a lower layer.

I tried printing to my Epson R1900, and on a Brother HL-1450 monochroms laser.  Both produce the same results.

    Suggestions?

I get the same results as Jongware. Check the dialog box print and see if the black text is checked...

I don't know how the relationship between Flash and first works, but if it's something like putting a Flash file into another Flash file then the file loaded Flash will not have a background.  What you should try to do is draw a white rectangle on the bottom layer of the timeline of Flash file that covers the entire scene.

HI - sorry, I'm a complete newbie to AE.  I just got Adobe Creative cloud the full package and this is the best Christmas present ever!

So were used first in the past, but never really made any progress with AE... I can see now that it is really awesome and I seriously need to make online training videos.  I started with one showing how do text typewriter and it worked well - I did it on a layer of text in black with white text, but I have one really looking for a title as old movies of espionage with the teletype type police black white effect paper securities courier.  So I change my background white and the black police, and it looks good in the preview, but when I connect my PP project, now it's all black, looks like the background has not really changed to white, even if she looks at it in the preview.  I made and I get the same, all black, so I guess I did something wrong in AE and not PP.  Again, I would be normally try myself understand this, but have not had much luck so could use a push if anyone cares to help.

    Thank you

    Bill

You will eat your words and perhaps eventually reconsider your relationship with the person who gave you this 'gift '.

The bottom of a project of EI is not one substance, other than for viewing purposes in AE. There not really, even if you see it as a defined color.

You need to do in order to make black text on a white background, is to create a "bottom" of the color of your choice.

Create a new layer which is a solid and don't forget to color it as you like, as you create it. It's ridiculous the process to change later, if you want to get this right because you create.

Then place your text above this layer layer in the timeline. And make out. This should give you what you're trying to reach.

The printer is around the age of 18 months and until recently printed perfectly to any type of paper we used, now, although print on normal paper, whenever we try to send the same file to print card 200gsm, large black ink as a streaks appear at the beginning of the printed area.  Change the type of paper for 'Matt card' makes no difference.  The printer is used by many laptops all running on a OS (Vista, XP & now Win 7) all have the same result.  I changed the black cartridge several times, but it makes no difference.  Everyone knows this or can anyone suggest anything else I can try.  Thank you very much

It sounds like the media are thinking of this printer. Try using a smaller paper gsm and let me know if you still have the problem?

  • black marks when printing

    Hello

I come to you to solve the printing problem I have several of my computers in the enterprise.

I opened a PDF with Adobe Acrobat Reader, when I print, it has black spots that appear on the printed sheet.

This problem is present on several computers.

You can see an example below (to the right after printing)

You have a solution please? Or is it due to an update to Acrobat Reader?

I am waiting for your answer

    Kind regards

Our company has the same problem after the update of the 10 anniversary Update Windows workstations (1607) with adobe acrobat DC.

Our current solution is installation and user of another PDF reader, such as foxit reader or downgrade to the version Adobe Acrobat XI.

  • HP Color LaserJet CP1217: Smoke when printing

What impression of this printer started smoking the crack where the printed paper emerges. I have turned off the machine and I'm worried about its use. There is no smell of burning smoke very well. What is the problem? I got the machine second hand, but it worked fine for two years until this week.

If you do not feel the smoke, then it is possible that you have paper in the printer that has too much moisture inside.

Paper can absorb moisture from the air if he is sitting in a damp place to his oar sealed. Absorption may occur relatively quickly in a very wet environment and over time in the same slightly damp environment.

Since there is no smell that is likely to steam, I would recommend that you go buy a new ream of paper and try to print and see if the steam is gone.

The printer has a thermal protection in the future to avoid overheating, and may not run quite hot to set fire to paper. Fuser works pretty hot to vaporize water.

  • Change background color of black

I create a slideshow/movie, but some images are smaller than the size of the entire screen (like a horizontal image for a long time I scroll through for example) the problem is that it always shows black background, and I need a white background. can anyone help?

    Darren

Place your slides on video 2.

Place a background or color on Video 1, blade directly below them. (Of course, you'll want to work in the Assembly no editing mode.)

Much more information on working with video tracks and creating slideshows in my books, if you are interested.
