Problem uninstalling InDesign CS4

The uninstall program (Windows 7) stops before uninstal finishes?  Anyone know a fix?

Thank you

Randy

Not for the program uninstall, no, but there is a clean Script , you might want to look in.

Edit: I guess I should offer the generic 'disable UAC before you uninstall', but I don't know what you have already tried.

  • Upgrade memory PC 2 GB to 4 GB - problem with Indesign CS4

I use Indesign CS4 on a PC (XP Professional SP3) that has 2 GB of memory. InDesign would go, but it has been slow, so upgraded to 4 GB. InDesign is running, but when we try to cut the text on one application and paste it into the document Indsign, he hesitates for a second or two before finishing the task.

Is there some settings in Indesign to be considered in the upgrade memory? Any help or thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I don't think that the problem is caused by InDesign.

  • InDesign CS4 slow. Spinning beachball headaches

Can someone help me solve this problem? InDesign CS4 document with a few pages and about 24 images on a page. With CMYK images imported the rendering and re-tearing is very slow. The process shows 99% of use of InDesign. Makes it almost impossible to work on a document.

    Any ideas to fix this?

EPS files are not required for cmyk printing, try to use the psd files, which is recommended in any case for a number of reasons, see the comments of Peter Spier here.

Indeed, with the right settings, you can use a huge amount of files to png and jpeg RGB as well and as long as they're high enough resolution very good results.

  • InDesign CS4 6.0.4 (Mac) of serious editing problems

InDesign CS4 crashes intermittently when I change the text and tables. He particularly dislikes removal and cut and paste. Also, it does not replace and find. He works in a few stories, but not in others. Sometimes, it crashes in a minute or two. I had at least 20 error reports sent to Apple and Adobe. Yesterday, I missed the deadline for a large document because of this problem. (Thought it was an import Word or CS4 problem copy/past, but today crashed on a cut and paste a native table.)

    Have you tried:

    1. different documents

    2. another mac (recently purchased and had copied all things more since my MacBookPro using the Migration Wizard - and whether he will because it does not work with my 2yo 30 inch display)

    3. power FontAgent Pro off and moved fonts to the font of the user library

    4. uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign CS4. The installation report said there were errors in the installation (just numbers so I don't know what are the mistakes.) Then following said there was a corrupt police, but not indicated in the original report).

5 had Finangler of fonts to remove all font caches.

I have another document to do today and I stepped back to CS3. So far no problem. Using the same fonts so there is no corruption of police...

Anyone know what could be the problem? Even better: the solution?

    Thanks for any help.

  • InDesign CS4 - screen serious rendering problem

I just migrated the CS2 Suite Suite CS4 (I uninstalled CS2 Suite before installing the Suite CS4) on my Windows XP SP3 System.

The first thing I noticed was that InDesign CS4 (ID) was struggling to make its screens properly when you do common functions. When this problem occurs, only "parts" of the app ID screen will be displayed (see figure), and the use of the processor (as shown in the Task Manager) goes to 100% usage. At this point, my system grinds to stop, and I don't know where I am in the application ID because the screen is not completely "painted". What I can do then is stopped ID using the "End task" option of the Windows Task Manager. As soon as ID close, my CPU usage goes immediately back to normal (5-10% range).

So far, I've noticed this rendering issue when:

-J' I minimize the application to the system tray, then go to maximize. This happens with or without an open ID file.

    -I'm closing/output a file

-a lot of screen repaint should be a trip 'in' and 'out' identity at all times

This problem may not happen to each instance in the above circumstances, but often enough (90% of the time) to make ID practically unusable for me. Sometimes, I am able to 'jogging' ID to its meaning (that is, a good repaint of the screen) by navigating in the menus of ID. It works sporadically, however, and the results last usually long.

This problem does not appear on another of my CS4 applications (PhotoShop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.), or any of my Windows Office 2003 apps. Other colleagues in my Department have not seen this problem with their ID CS4 and some of them are almost identical systems running than mine (everything except the Dell Monitor).

What I've tried so far without any help:

-used Adobe Updater for the latest CS4 updates (I'm under version 6.0.2 of ID)

s ' is Windows Update and installed all updates beyond SP3

-removed files on my hard drive to free up space (I have 20% free)

    -defragged my hard drive

    -updated my display driver

-J' tried various screen resolutions and refresh rates of my screen

    Care of my machine:

    Dell Optiplex GX620

    Pentium 4 3.00 Ghz CPU

    Hard drive 80 GB

    4 GB OF RAM

    Windows XP SP3

    Dell 1907ftp LCD monitor

    IE version 6.0.2900

    McAfee 3.6.0.608 virus check

    Can anyone help?

What is interesting. That's exactly the same problem that I saw! I noticed that if I changed the control Palette "Float" and tried to place it at the bottom of my screen and it resized, the same exact questions happen to me. I'm not on a Dell computer, but use Win XP Pro - SP3. Just for fun, try to place the range of control at the bottom of your screen, re - size and see what happens. I think it's some sort of bug. As soon as I changed the Palette controls 'Dock at bottom' problems all disappeared...

  • New impression of problem based on InDesign CS4 from Lion

After having great success with Aisolve earlier trouble on printing from InDesign CS4, after updated to Lion, I have a new problem after installation of OS X 10.7.2 update last week. When I try to print from InDesign CS4 and Illustrator CS4 on my Lanier 445c/Ricoh C4500 at my workplace, I get the following error message:

"Printing error: Adobe Print Engine failed at the end of your data due to an unknown problem."

This seems to be a different problem this time, as I am able to print on my house, a LasertJet HP 2600n printer and an HP Photosmart C4270. I thought it might be a printer driver issues, but I went to the site of Lanier and they did not all new printer drivers for Mac OS X 10.7.

I also have some of the research on the Adobe site and found this message in CS1, 2 & 3. I tried the solution that seems to apply to me, which has been re-naming/remove Deafults InDesign and InDesign SavedData files. (I have this same problem when I print a text without any graphics file). This fix did not work.

I can print to the Ricoh/Lanier of Acrobat 9 and all my software not very well, so my workaround to this day has been the export in PDF and print from there. My big problem is that I need the "Print booklet" feature in InDesign for a big job, I had to come this week. Can do that since Acrobat. :-(

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    mmsteer,

I think I'm able to help you with this problem, I had with CS4 when I put first to Lion, and others had some with CS3. This fix is courtesy of Aisolve on these discussion forums:

Remove the following folders Adobe PDF PPV:

    OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/en.lproj,

    OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Zh_CN.lproj,

    OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Ja.lproj,

    OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/ko.lproj,

    OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Zh_TW.lproj,

Don't forget to go to your library system, not your user library.

In addition, on my current problem, I spoke with an Apple tech person and found that the 10.7.2 upgrade apparently is the culprit and is not compatible with printing wirelessly on my Lanier printer. I CAN print connected via USB. This is a workaround for now, but I'm going to need to contact Lanier about upgrading their driver for OS X 10.7.2.

Aisolve me was helping with this issue too and make sure if I'm able to generate a postscript file (which I was) and capable of generating a PDF through Adobe Distiller distlling (which I am), so I can assume that the problem lies in the material, in this case the printer driver. It lines up with what Apple has told me.

  • InDesign CS4 PDF production problems

I have BIG InDesign CS4 PDF production problems.  PDF files high resolution I do in InDesign CS4 cut parts of logos .ai or display the whole logo when I see, but endangered for other printers or designers send art, too.  This problem started in the last month or so.  Help, please!

  • InDesign CS4 works every time when you export to PDF

I have CS4 for several years with absolutely no problem. I create the occasional newsletter - lengths ranging from 3 to 12 pages. I created one in September without problem. Last month, when exporting to PDF, I kept getting a message "Adobe InDesign CS4 has stopped working." and something about Windows 7 looking for a solution (which of course didn't). My only modification in Adobe between when it worked and where he didn't was 1) I upgraded to Adobe PS and LR CC.  (2) I also did an upgrade to Adobe Acrobat (I think she was using now... sort of a core component to acrobat.com saw a message indicating an update was available and did not know he would start using some cloud services).

-temporarily work around the problem of the last month, I sent my InDesign document (small - page 3) and images to a friend who created the PDF file for me with no problems.

Now, I'm working on another ballot (which does exactly the same way) so seriously try to correct the problem. I took my search suggestions and forum-based measures:

    -J' uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign

-I got rid of the implementation level Acrobat and uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat 9 of my suite CS4

-J' deleted my preferences files so that they would be replaced by the default system (by a suggestion of the forum)

-J' tried to export a page at a time to see if there is a problem with a specific element on a page - nothing exported successfully, not one page in my 12 page document

-To meet my deadline of my last newsletter (12 page), I decided to package it for someone else to export to PDF. The package failed with the error message

-J' read that there are sometimes mistakes with lack of enough temporary storage to create PDF files. The AdobeTemp file is located on a drive with several GB of free space. However, since the package have also failed, I wonder if the problem is in this area.

Would appreciate any assistance to resolve it. I just don't know what else to try. Thank you

It isn't a certainty with Windows error reports, but it seems to be of type text/partner, and a secondary-pair or damaged police could be the problem. Fonts free fonts sites are often below standards.

I'll sign off the coast for today.

  • Cannot re - install CS4 suite of the crash of Indesign CS4

I've been using Indesign CS4 software for about 2 years on my iMac. But 2 weeks ago Indesign CS4 couldn't work.

I decided to uninstall and reinstall again.

However, when entering the serial number, it does not recognize the serial number of the product you purchased Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium.

    My computer details:

    iMac 7.1

    Mac OC X version 10.5.8

2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor

    4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM memory

As I could not enter the serial number, I am currently using a trial version of a month.

How to re - install without this problem.

Try the steps mentioned in the links below.

  • InDesign CS4 crash when printing... "' Macromedia ' apparent culprit...

(Sorry if this has found its way to the bad advice Forum: I can't seem to find a way to the appropriate InDesign CS4 'Community' to publish it in!)

My Mac of InDesign CS4 version 6.0.6 version started crashing when you try to print.

The Crash log shows that the individual has crashed the thread in order to always include the line:

    com.macromedia.Flash Player.authplaylib 0x1c5ac2dd ExternalPlayer_Initialize + 1864739

.. which is repeated twice, with different similar numbers just before and after "ExternalPlayer_Initialize".

I guess that there is a problem with InDesign calling "macromedia. '" Flash Player"instead of Adobe Flash Player, but I don't know where or how to change the words 'macromedia '. Flash Player"to encourage the program runs correctly.

Note: The program has been installed on a Mac that had disappeared and was found and returned, but in the meantime we would have bought a Mac replacement. InDesign has been uninstalled and then some Mac initially lost, and a previous full backup of this Mac was then restored on the new Mac, so that was a complete copy of the original (.. so respect for restrictions on use..)

After that the program was restored on the new Mac, it prints more.

    Any help or suggestions, please?

If everything seems to work, leave it.  If you have a problem:

Uninstall all cs4 programs and use the cleaning tool cleaner, use of the CC to resolve installation problems. CC, CS3 - CS6

Uninstall flash player, Uninstall Flash Player | Windows

    Restart your computer.

    First install indesign.

    then install photoshop

    Then install acrobat and Illustrator

Then, install the remaining programs of cs4.
