  • problem upgrading to Windows7 Windows XP Professionalge.

Hello everyone and happy to be here. I have a problem upgrading to Windows7 in Windows XP Professional. I have a Dell E510 while upgrading to Windows 7, I have reached the installation window and my complete system each item listed with a check mark next to: (copy of Windows files), (gathering files, settings, programs), (extension of Windows files). reached 27% full. I get a massage from windows restarts now... The computer does not restart. He asks me to press any key to boot from the CD. Once it goes to that, a window pops up that says "Windows starts now." It is not to go further than that. I release the CD and turn off the computer. When I restart again, a window prompts you to say 'start from the old system or windows put in place. " If I press windows set up, it does nothing. When I press on the old system, it restarts in Windows XP, and then a window invites you to tell me 'the computer started on your old system. It would not be upgraded. Contact Microsoft. This is getting very frustrating. I installed the Windows 7 DVD on my other HP computer without problem. But when he asks me to press any key to reboot from dvd and you do. There is no that start the installation from the beginning. "Collection Windows files, them"start windows"and them it is he don't, don't go anywhere." Can't someone help please? Thank you and I appreciate the help.

Do not touch the keyboard when you are prompted to "Press any key", sit and wait Windows to continue the installation. Also did you select the 'custom' and not the 'Upgrade' option at the beginnng of the installation process.

  • Problem upgrade version Adobe Photoshop CS3, to Photoshop CS4.

Hi, hope someone can help, Adobe does not support older versions of Photoshop apparently...

I had Adobe PS CS3 installed on my laptop wife.  But his HARD disk was giving problems, so I've migrated the o/s to a new hard drive to SSD.

Now, I install the software back, I have successfully installed Adobe Photoshop CS3 and recorded it, I then tried to install the upgrade for CS3 DVD:

Photoshop CS4, but it fails to insert the code. The code for the CS4 update is accepted OK but when it asks for the serial number for Photoshop CS3 already installed and registered, he said that this serial number is not recognized. I can't seem to work around this problem, and it is very annoying. I have received for the two versions and they were bought from reputable companys Unfortunately it was a few years ago, so probably no help now.

The last time that happened a few years back, I contacted Adobe who talked through the process that required a different number series and another method

I can not remember now.  I got this DVD upgrade for awhile and it's a shame if we are unable to make use.

I use Adobe CC on my desktop doesn't have is no need for that. But my wife likes the older versions of Photoshop.

appreciate if someone knows how to work around this problem, currently installed upgrading to CS4 trial version to get past the nag screen.

    Hi marsykes,

Thank you for using Microsoft Windows forum.

Microsoft has already stated that the Windows 7 upgrade package will allow you to upgrade to Windows XP, but you need to perform a new installation of the program (the upgrade disks can do a clean install). Microsoft has already certified that the updated Package will include a disc each for 32-bit and 64-bit in the same package. Windows Vista users can do an 'upgrade' on top of their existing operating system and save their current program settings, but Windows XP users will have to format the hard drive and start from the beginning with the same DVD disc software.

  • Upgraded version of dose of windows 8 solve my problem?

I bought a laptop from China with windows 7, but after the upgrade, I had true notice that my copy of windows is wrong, now I want to buy a windows SharafDJ 8, upgraded version of dose of windows 8 solve my problem?

Well, technically Yes, given that Windows 7 would be regarded as a product calling. Windows 8 does not verify the authenticity of the qualification license, also the fact that it's a laptop, so it must have been licensed authentic in the first place, be it Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7.

In order to that upgrade you a genuine license (Windows 8), buy at the following link:

  • Problem of drift incredibly strange clock in Windows 8 on ENVY 14 t-1000

I have a ridiculously strange and frustrating issue running Windows 8 x 64 (RTM) on my Envy 14 t-1000.

The first time I noticed this problem was when I ran the consumer Windows 8 build preview earlier in the year. I noticed that my clock might drift off-sync, usually at least a few hours, often more than a day (always drifted backward in time). I would sync it using 'Internet time' in the options of time & Date but it would soon become off once again in a few minutes.

Thinking it was a dead CMOS battery, I disconnected the battery and checked, but it read full voltage. I then did a clean install of Windows 7, no problems whatsoever. That lasted a few months.

I recently did a clean install of the final version of Windows 8. Exactly the same thing is happening now.

All this experience? Is there a particular driver should I install? An incompatibility permanent with Windows 8 on this machine?

  • The version of XP Pro student upgrade to Windows 7 it will add third party programs such as WINDVD to play movies, or if you buy a full version of Windows 7, contains WINDVD?

Original title: moving from the version of XP Pro to Windows 7 student

If moving from XP Pro student version without WINDVD player for Windows 7 upgrade, it will add third-party programs such as WINDVD to play movies, or if you buy a full version of Windows 7, it contains WINDVD?

    Hello

You cannot perform an upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 installation. You will need to perform a custom installation or clean installation. You need to install all software from third-party manufacturers after completing one of these facilities.

    THIRD WARNING:
Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Problem of Activation of Vista, error msg: you need to activate this version of Windows.

Original title: Activation of Vista problem...

I have a version legally obtained from Microsoft Vista that I've been running on my laptop. Recently I had a few problems with the battery and have decided to withdraw from the laptop before complete failure and virtualize on another machine. While I've been running the virtual machine for some time without problem, I recently ran in the form of horse "activate this version of Windows. My attempts to authenticate my version of Vista were not successful and clicking on the 'buy a new online product key' send me a useless part of Windows 8 to the Microsoft site. Interestingly, I was able to authenticate my copy of Microsoft Office on the virtual machine.

I have IMPOSSIBLE upgrade to Windows 7 or 8, and must be able to continue to run Vista (or XP/ME/98) with some mission critical internal software. I'm happy to buy another license for Vista, however, it seems impossible. Without the ability to replace the laptop battery, upgraded the laptop or upgrade of the software to work with Windows 7/8, I have to find a way to authenticate this license of Vista in the virtual environment.
Please, Please help. I don't want to have an "unauthorized" copying of Windows on my machine.
    Kind regards
    Matthew.
P.S. I already have a copy of Windows 7 running and a large part of mission critical functionality is broken under this version of Windows.

    Thanks Noel.

I did a little more digging into the problem following your advice and that of the original notebook computer manufacturer. It seems that the copy of Vista that I was sold with the laptop is an edition OEM who cannot be virtualized in this way, and therefore the problem with activation.
So it seems that I have two choices, (1) try and find a replacement laptop that comes with Vista (unlikely) or (2) buy another copy of Vista (full version this time) through Microsoft (if possible).
The only other option after that must pay my original developers an extreme amount for re - write the software for a Mac/PC/Tablet platform to date. I know that I'll need to do afterwards, because of the nature of something to do with computers (i.e. nothing left hard or constant for decades), but as with any business, I can't keep bleeding of money on perpetual upgrades. This is especially true when the only reason for the upgrade seems to be that the software is ' is no longer supported "rather than because it no longer meets our needs.
Once again, many Christmas thanks for your help anyway. Do you by chance know if there is a way to buy a new key license through Microsoft?
    Kind regards
    Matthew.
  • I have Windows Vista Business Edition. What I need to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional or can it be any version of Windows 7?

I currently have vista 32 professional and I want to upgrade to windows 7, I understand that I must use windows 7 Professional

is this correct and just use the regular windows 7 pro upgrade disc?

original title: Vista Business 32 - windows 7

If you want to make a room upgrade, you can use Windows 7 Pro 32-bit - you can buy and use the upgrade version. You can also buy Home Premium, but will need to perform a custom installation.

Then my computer run Windows 7?
Basic system requirements are listed below.  Features have additional requirements.

    • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x 86) or 64-bit (x 64) processor

    • 1 gigabyte (GB) of RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)

    • 16 GB of disk space available (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)

    • Graphical device DirectX 9 with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

Run Windows Upgrade Advisor to see if there are known problems that might affect installation and if you need to install the 32-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows 7.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/UpgradeAdvisor

    Installation - 'upgrade' means what?
Upgrade means that you can install Windows 7 simply by inserting the Windows 7 upgrade software in the DVD drive of your PC and follow the instructions on the screen. While you are not required to backup and reinstall your files, or reinstall your programs, it is a very good idea to back up your files and settings before you start any upgrade to the software. Get more information on the software updates and best practices .

Installation - what does "Custom (Clean)" Mean?
A custom (clean) installation clears the contents of the hard drive of your PC. Your files, settings, and programs will not be transferred to Windows 7. This means that to install Windows 7, you must:

    • Back up any files and settings you want to keep

    • Install Windows 7

    • Reinstall all your files

    • Reinstall all the programs you want to use.

These four steps take time, skills, techniques and Windows Easy Transfer can help. However, if you are not comfortable with this process, please consider having the installation carried out by a local service provider.
