  I have a weird problem with my sound regulator in A300. When I use 'wheel' in front of the laptop, next to the headphones of entry etc., sound turns upward and downward very irregular - I try to turn up the volume and it jerks around a constant level of volume that ends at 10% of the desired level. I tried to reinstall the audio drivers but it did not work and overall, I don't know if there are other things I can do to solve this problem.

  Hi - I was wondering if anyone can help?
  I just got a Satellite A300-177, however when I connect it to the internet (I tried broadband wireless and mobile) images and low resolution is pixelated. I think that sometimes happens, but there is usually an option on a laptop to remedy (to do with disabling the option of your laptop, save images low resolution to run faster) however this particular model does not seem to have this option (as tested by our technician COMPUTER)!

  Please can someone tell me if they have the same problem before I return it because I like really this laptop apart from that!

  This part of the operating system or Internet Explorer option? This option does not for me because I never noticed anything like that.
  I also believe that the COMPUTER technician knows the difference between the responsibility of Toshiba and Microsoft. If this option is part of the operating system or THE Toshiba has nothing to do with this and you should check the Microsoft Knowledge base to see if there is a report thereon or similar problems.

  I have too many Satellite A200 and I installed Vista and Windows XP Home edition, several times and never noticed a similar problem. I must say that all my tests were with the own operating system preinstalled.

  In your case, it is not easy to say why this happens, but it turns out that some process must be loaded and at this stage of the computer cell blocks. Usually, if you keep the Start button / stop for 5 seconds, book it should be OFF.

  You must understand that no one knows we what's your personal operating system configuration and if there are some applications you have installed the last days. Exact an application that runs in the background may not be loaded properly and blocks for laptop.

  What should do? You can enter MSCONFIG and check all entries of Systemstart. Try to disable all the stuff, you don't need and try it again. Maybe you will be lucky and find out if there is something that starting cell blocks.

  Not sure if the solution in your case, but I read in some discussions that the BIOS update could solve battery problems.

  Otherwise if the BIOS does not help, then you should check if the new battery could be the solution.

  Please try this sequence... Note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must be directly connected to a charger checked (not PC USB, not a docking station):

  1. With battery, connect your BB to the wall charger
  2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not
  3. Remove the battery
  4. Wait 15 minutes
  5. Insert the battery
  6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not

  This has been known to "revive" some BBs.

  It is also possible that your battery or BB has encountered a problem... to test, this sequence is necessary:

  1. Get a known good and already fully charged battery... use it in your BB and see what happens
  2. Get access to a BB good and the same known... use your battery in there and see what happens

  The results of this will show if your BB or your battery that has the problem. Carefully note please that 'new' and 'know' are not necessarily the same things. Although rare, a 'new' battery could certainly be defective. On the contrary, the easiest (and cheapest, btw) method to perform this test is to find someone with an identical BB which has no problem... trade in batteries and see what happens.
