Problem with browser Windows cookies
Hey guys,.
I was redirected here from Twitter @MicrosoftHelps.
I had some problems with my cookies, regardless of the browser that I use on Windows 7 HP 32 x.
Each site that requires cookies warns me that something went wrong, my browser has not enabled cookies or just something has expired.
I have tried just about everything, except reinstall it (I won't do that, because then I have to reinstall a shed of program expenses and then the program that I am creating damage).
The only sites that work, are: Facebook, (some) Microsoft sites, like live.xbox.com, forum.xda - developers.com and who is on it.
That's what I mean: http://db.tt/WAj8bWBF
I read something about programs and time zones, but they are all very well; See this: http://db.tt/hIWBBHH6
MSHelps also said that I should try to restore my system to a date before all this past began, which unfortunately is not possible, because the dates of restoration only I have are the following: http://db.tt/z41KriBu
I don't know if this is related or not, but are the stats from my PC, including Windows (yet):
HP Compaq d530 (2004)
Intel Pentium IV 2.8 GHz (no HT)
2.5 GB of RAM DDR 400 MHz
nVidia GeForce 6200 512 MB of VRAM (AGP)
320 GB S - ATA + 80 GB IDE hard drives
--- ---
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
32 x
Installed ~ mid-February
If you need more info or screenshots, let me know and I'll update the info.
Many thanks in advance,
Simon Cahill

I tried to fix it too, but it has not helped, so I uninstalled and tried to reinstall but there has not helped either. I tried almost everything I've seen in other posts.

Anyone know if there is a problem with the "Windows Update" site? As of May 11, 2010 I could not access it for 2 days now. I get an error report indicating that he has a "problem with the site '... Not sure if it's my computer or the site itself. I just need to check updates and download them. I would be grateful for any feedback... Thank you!
~ JeniferIt is without a doubt. There were a few patches published today, and I was able to update all my machines successfully. This looks more like a virus problem. Have you run a virus scan recently? Many times, if you are infected the virus will prevent you to access Windows Update.
You can also use Microsoft Fix It to reset the Windows Update components: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058. This could also be your problem.
Let me know how it goes,

have a problem with my Windows Services.
I have a problem with my Windows Services.
Every time when I run the Windows Services window, I get a warning:One or more activex controls could not be displayed because that is:
1. your current security settings prohibit running activex
the controls on this page, or
2. you have blocked an editor of one of the controls.
for example, the page may not display correctly. The warning popup opens only when I click on the extended tab.
The problem has nothing to do with the security of IE, because I can open pages with ActiveX controls on them and so.I installed the Spybot spyware/malware removal tool. Then uninstalled.
I don't know if this is the cause of the problem. But I assume that it is.So, maybe someone faced the same problem and knows the cause for it.
Thank you.

Original title: Windows Live Hotmail only opens a new window links e-mail composition!
I recently put my Windows Live Hotmail account to my default e-mail client in Internet Explorer 8 on my Windows XP SP3 System. Unfortunately, whenever I click on a link to e-mail on a Web page to open a new message, Hotmail tells me, "Sorry, there seems to be a problem with Hotmail right now", and a new/compose message window does not open. I disabled the HTTPS option in Hotmail, which fixed the problem. However, when I went to do a manual update of Windows, I am nailed with a Trojan horse! Apparently, the Windows Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials have been affected by turning off HTTPS in Hotmail! It's 2012, and it's terribly disappointing that Microsoft only has not ironed out all the imperfections in these services now. If anyone can give me a solution (in simple terms), I would appreciate it!
Thank you
Ryan
Hi Ryan,
1. you receive messages or error codes when you access Windows updates?
2. what happens exactly with the Windows Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials?
About the update of Windows, the Windows Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials issues, you may try to launch the FixIt and see if it helps:
Method 1:
Resolve security issues to protect and secure Windows automatically
The problem with Microsoft Windows Update is not working
Method 2:
You can also refer to article and perform a full scan on your computer by using the Microsoft Safety Scanner.
Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
On the Windows Live Hotmail account, you can publish your request in instances of Windows Live to get help:

iTunes error update
I am trying to install an update to iTunes on my laptop and find the folowing part-way through the installation error:"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the set up did not complete as expected. Contact your provider to support personal or package. »
I got iTunes for 3-4 years now and have always been able to install updates successfully, so don't not sure what is the problem.
I tried msconfig and changed the boot process, so it includes all of the non-Windows elements, as suggested on the Microsoft Web site, but that has not worked.
Can anyone help?
Thank you
The instructions were to contact the vendor of the package. This isn't iTunes, Microsoft.

Problems with iTunes re-Setup - "there is a problem with this Windows Installer package"
I tried to re - install iTunes with the latest version because I had received an "error 7" message instead of iTunes. You had covered the steps to uninstall and reinstall iTunes by removing iTunes, Quicktime, and other applications on my computer. I had uninstalled iTunes and Quicktime, but when I tried to uninstall the Apple software update, I get the following error message:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your supplier of staff or the package of support ".
How am I supposed to fix my problem with iTunes, so I can download music if I couldn't uninstall programs I need to uninstall? Can I try reinstalling iTunes at the moment? Please let me know what I can or can't do.
Specific file names are mentioned in the error messages?
Here is the standard advice for dealing with problems of installation of iTunes. Because you are having trouble to uninstall one or more of these applications, you must use Windows Installer Cleanup mentioned below or Free Revo Uninstaller to uninstall applications difficult.
Caution: Cleanup utility Windows Uninstaller has been removed from Microsoft download servers because sometimes it seems more removed he was supposed to (I believe this was linked to Office uninstall). You can still get Windows Installer Cleanup here--> http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html utility if you use it, you must create a restore point from the system first (or back up the registry with C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT). An image full disc would be safer if you have this ability.
If these steps do not help, ask for help in the Apple forum: https://discussions.apple.com/community/itunes/itunes_for_windows?view=discussions&tagSet=1234#/
