  • Windows 8 How to revive the desktop and the Start Menu?

Hello, if you are using Windows 8, sometimes we are asked to open the Task Manager and close some programs for performance reasons. Strangely, programs that have been closed with the X button at the top right are still reported running and need to be stopped manually via Task Manager! During the closure of the "Desktop" program (Yes, it is in the list and it is possible to simply close), how it can be restored? Where doesn't he disappears and with it also the Start Menu? We tried to find via the command run, and we stopped the machine and restarted does not. Now, there is just an o/s hidden without user interface! The machine responds to CTRL + ALT + DELETE to bring up the Task Manager. Thank you.

You can absolutely close, for sure.  But, apps Store of Windows cannot do the slower computer.  Memory is marked as 'open for use' and can be erased and reused for any new process in the clock cycle (approximately a 1000th of a second), then it poses absolutely no load on the system just let them "running" forever.  Developers sometimes refer to this frozen as "tomb-stoned.  This is the reason for the new model of application development, so that the users do not have to worry about closing or opening an application. They just use the computer and do what they want without a slowdown.  You know, like the iPad :)

  • Problem with task bar and appearance of the start menu.

My account is the only account on my computer of the family that seemed to have lost the look of Windows Vista in the start menu and taskbar, as well as the windows that appear. It seems to resemble an earlier version of windows, but with the arrows and vista available, wait his gray. I went into the control panel to see if I had changed it accidentally, but he says he's still the appearance of vista. What happened since I restarted the computer the other day, and it's really frustrating.

    Try this:

    Restore point:

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

  • Problem with the start menu of windows 8.

So my type of computer is Windows PC. My windows 8 Start menu automatically brings me too my "Apps". Then I have to click an arrow button and it brings me to 'start '. I can't find a way to 'lock or PIN' from the menu 'Start '. So, whenever I push the menu button start it brings back me to the "Apps". • Two problems: 1: there is no Mozilla or Firefox folder in the start menu;. 2: when I said 4 FF to return by default, I had all the features of FF 3 instead. I reinstalled the browser, but that has not helped. Advice would be much appreciated.

    Two problems:

    1. when I said Firefox 4 to return to the default toolbar, he returned to v. 3. I reinstalled v. 4, but that did not help.

    2. I tried to open it in safe mode and discovered that there is no Mozilla or Firefox folder in my Start menu.

    I'm the home runnint Windows 7, 64-bit.

    1.

The orange Firefox button appears when the menu bar is hidden. Turn off Bar Menu item in view > toolbars or from the context menu for toolbars.

    2.

You can open the Firefox 4.0 SafeMode pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.

Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox to open it again.

    ·         The question is only limited to Office applications?

    ·         What exactly happens when you try to open an Office application? You receive an error message?

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: While running scan on the hard drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive when scanning try to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

    Hello

Try the methods provided below and see if they help to resolve the issue.

    Method 1:

This looks like a problem with Windows Aero, I would say that you update the card drivers video from the manufacturer's website and check if that helps.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

    Method 2:

You can navigate on troubleshooting Aero:

  • the icon start at the bottom left and the taskbar at the bottom disappeared with notifications i.e. time etc, in Panel I cllicked on the taskbar and the start menu icon, but I get nothing.

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone

    • My icon start at the bottom left is gone also the taskbar at the bottom with the notifications inside IE clock etc.
    • I moved the mouse to the edges of the screen and dragged to the rear but no task bar.
    • In the control panel in Classic view, there is the taskbar and the START MENU ICON, but when I click on it I do not get the Advisor news, I get nothing if clicked.

    Suggestions:

    1. press Ctrl + Alt and WAITING, press DELETE key > select Task Manager > file > new task (run...) > in the Open box, type explore> OK

    Is back on the taskbar?
If so, make sure that lock you the taskbar, right-click on the taskbar > check 'lock the Tasbar.

    2. If the above does not help, go to safe mode and see if you can see the taskbar at the bottom.
Here's how to get safe mode:

Shut down your computer > turn it back on and immediately and repeatedly tab key F8 until you see a black and white screen. The top/down arrow and select Safe Mode.

If you can see the taskbar in safe mode, please do a system restore. Choose a date where you did not have this problem as your restore point.

Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.
