Problem with the Compaq 6715 network s

Dears

I have compaq 6715 s running windows XP SP3

I have a problem with my network connections, whenever I am connected via the LAN port Ethernet, wireless connection is automatically disabled and I can't enable it.

is this normal or should I do something to use both connections at the same time to connect to two different networks.

Thanks in advance for your support

Hello:

This is perfectly normal, and you can fix it easily also.

Go into the BIOS and in the sub-menu of device configuration, modify the LAN/WLAN, set active to disabled.

Save the setting it by hitting the F10 key and again when you go out (save the settings and exit).

Now the wireless stays on when you connect by using a LAN cable.

  • Problem with the Compaq Presario CQ60-216DX

Hello, I'm having a problem with my NEW Compaq Presario CQ60-216DX mother. Every time it boots up vista and I run internet explorer, I get a strange blue screen which exports a file memory and reboots.

I have the feeling that this might have been caused by a virus, but I can't do something, because Vista can't reformat long for some reason any.

I tried a hard test in my motherboard and he said that there is something wrong with my hard drive.

I don't know what is happening, right now I'm in safe mode trying to find viruses that Nod32 does not detect everything.

Can someone tell me how I can get either the Windows XP Discs to work at startup (which, for some reason, they do not), or an alternative to a long format?

Is there a way to fix this without reformatting? There's almost nothing on this laptop anyway so I'm always willing to do. A regular format has done nothing to solve the problem, I did it with Ubuntu and it did a quick format, but I had no problem with Ubuntu. Then I reinstall Vista and I am constantly having problems with a blue screen of death.

Someone knows how to fix this?

    The Chemich does not exist

If you want to do a reinstall of Vista then press F11 continuously during the boot upward. This will bring you in Recovery Options were you can choose to restore the system in the same State as when it was purchased. But if, as you suggested, is that a problem of hard drive reinstall won't help.

  • Problem with the IP vs network Hotsync computer name

    Hello-

I have a TX, a Windows XP workstation and a wireless router.  I play successfully hotsyncs network via WiFi.  A snag, however:

My workstation is configured with a static IP address.  In the TX Hotsync page, I can use the drop-down list for 'Select PC' and manually enter the IP address.  HotSync will work.  However, on the next go-around, I see that the IP in the drop-down list box HotSync has been replaced with the name of the computer to my workstation.  If I try to hotsync with it, I can not connect.  So I once again 'Select PC' and manually enter the IP address... and it works.  The problem is: I have to manually enter the IP address whenever I want to hotsync.

Is there something I need to change so that the TX will find my workstation by using the name of the computer instead of the IP address, so I can just click on the button and go?

    Thank you!

    Well Yes, strange...

Thank you.  Everything you mentioned had been done and already checked.  As I have noted, I have HotSync successfully through the IP address.

Anyway, the next thing I did was to set the TX for static IP address.  That did not help.

I read that the computer names are handled via NetBIOS and NetBIOS is often blocked by the default firewall.  I went to F-Secure and added about five rules to allow TCP traffic and WINS over TCP and UDP, specifically for static IP of the TX.  Voila... I have hotsync using the name of the computer.

Now, it happens by a stranger...

I started to remove the rules one by one, to see which actually caused to work properly.  Funny, it is... I removed - all - of the rules - and it still works.  Even after rebooting several times throughout the process.

Then maybe some settings in F-Secure is a not 'paste' originally, and after going through the process and all still rested back upward.

    I don't know, but I'm happy now.  ^_^

    See you soon!

  • Problem with the search for network path

We have experienced a weird problem recently with our research. On a Windows 7 Machine, when you search for a file that is located on our file server, it will give you the files, but for ancient dates and not the most recent. In our case, when we find a file, I see the file is there but I do the search in the folder and it gives me no element matches your search if they have changed the 7/17 and later. Something before 7/17 is always available.

I tried indexing, but I know that this will not work because it is a network location. Maybe is something that is wrong on the side of servers? This is a server of 2012. We have about 10 users affected by it, so the solution to the index of the network as a library location may not be enough and may just take us longer.

Any ideas on if it's the workstation or the server? If so, what can be done to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

  • Satellite C850 - found problems with the networking and the FN key

    Hey everybody,

I work on a Satellite Toshiba C850, that my parents recently bought and spin in a certain number of questions.

    (1) wireless won't connect to my network. Have done the following: verified by connecting on two other computers, reset the router, the open network, reset the map, reinstalled the realtek drivers, checked the settings in the networking of Toshiba Utilities. End result is he's going to try, and fail. Wired LAN works fine.

    (2) FN key does not work. Have you checked the region and it is OK, have tried to use the Flash cards - no change, checked with the screen keyboard and can check the FN key does not register.

I noticed that the first problem is common, but there are obvious positive results. If anyone can offer any assistance, I would appreciate it a lot.

Before you begin to discuss your problems can you please tell us what OS you are using?
Are you using the original OS that you got with your laptop? I mean original recovery image has been tested and works correctly, with the factory settings that all should especially the FN keys.

1 / What do you mean with refusing? your WLAN is visible for your laptop?

2 / if there is problem with the feature keys FN and you use Win7 try please reinstall extra package from Toshiba.

  • Problems with the IP settings on XP pc wireless network

I have (part time) a wireless network to recently set up. Router is connected to a pc windows 7, and there is a XP machine with a USB adapter as well. The PCs are turned on, and the XP shows a wireless connection with a 'very good' signal. When I try to start IE on XP it will fail to connect. When I then run the diagnostic network connection died at around the point where the diagnosis is trying to reactivate the adapter. The diagnosis of output reports "error renew IP address: semaphore timeout has expired" and "default gateway 0.0.0.0." If I then run ipconfig/all there is absolutely NO output. This happened yesterday, so I manually reset following IP 299357 instructions and the same thing happened again. I did the reset again and rebooted the XP. The router indicates that it has recognized the XP and ipconfig/all on XP shows things different, including

IP 192.168.2.6. subnet mask 255.255.255.0; gateway by default, dns server, and dhcp like 192.168.2.3 Server (the IP address of the router); DHCP and automatic configuration enabled. IP routing and WINS proxy are disabled.

While I was typing the above router lost sight the XP box, although the box XP still reports a 'very good' signal and a connection permanent.

So far, I had this network in place for 10 days, but could not use the connection to the outside of the PC XP on a day, which followed my re - configure the router to its IP address 192.168.2.3 rather than recommended in setting up such 192.168.2.1, because 192.168.2.3 was that the XP box trying to connect as. Two PCs have been turned off during the night and worked fine when started the next morning for the entire day. The next day that XP had a connection for long enough to reach the site where I was looking for updated printer drivers, and then he lost when I started to download the and nothing since. IP information now suggests that I might have little joy for a while, if I still have to reset the IP address of the router to 192.168.2.6 this time, but I don't see why I should continue to do.

Some of the other TCP performer? Troubleshooting IP connectivity:

Ping 127.0.0.1 return OK; ping 192.168.2.3 expires; ping 192.168.2.6 is OK; ping host name does not work (assuming that the host name is just the name of the computer to the pc win 7); Pathping 192.168.2.6 works. (If that this watch is actually the host name and then ping that name does not work either, there is no entry in the ARP cache, do not know the valid IP addresses to test those.)

Suggests that I have problems with the default gateway, and name resolution, but I do not know how to set resolution, unless you change the IP address of the router, which can do the first, but not the second.

    Suggestions welcome.

The fact that things worked fine for a day seems to indicate that the material is OK, and I checked that I have the latest firmware for the router and USB adapter. Security of the router is disabled, as is the firewall on the XP, neither of which is ideal

Technical support of Belikin has decided that the adapter was flakey too and should be replaced. If we call things the customer support, and I heard of them since, did not except a s message that seemed to ask whether or not I had entered with them...

    So what network?

Packed wireless router and got some kit devolo for a network of current carrier online (on the grid) put in place instead. More expensive, Yes, but IT WORKS! 6 weeks later, still no problem to access Internet from a PC.

Hi, I just changed my modem, I can't connect to the internet. I can connect to wireless network but not to the internet. When I diagnose, he said, "there could be a problem with one or more network adapter on the computer. I searched the internet but I can't find anything. When I diagnose, I have also seen something on the 'hot spots', but I can't remember it clearly? Any help please?

Also, when I go to Device Manager network adapters, each of them has WARNING signs except two of them.

If your laptop is an Atheros AR5007 wireless card, see if installing this driver solves the problem, you have to be able to connect to wireless but no internet network.
