Hello

Check with the manufacturer of the system, their drivers and documentation support online and ask
their forums (if any) about known problems. Some portable computers cannot be upgraded to Windows 8. 1.

Update the BIOS, drivers low-level chipset and drivers of major on-board and separate devices.
Especially update the video driver.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's my generic how updates of appropriate driver: (video/driver update, BIOS, the)
pilots of the chipset and the other major engines)

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded: run DriverView - set the VIEW to hide
Microsoft drivers - update those without drain in their names (and BIOS and chipset).

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on
Driver update (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right
Click on - uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • Split x Touchpad 2-problem after upgrade to 8.1 Windows

    Hello

I bought this Split x 2 a week ago and it came with WIndows 8. Everything worked great until I upgraded to WIndows 8.1. Now my Touchpad freezes a few times and I have to sign out and then sign back in to my profile to unlock the touchpad sometimes I can get it to unlock by resetting the version touch screen buttom.

I called HP customer service and they said it was a matter of Microsoft and transfer me to them. Microsoft said that it was a hardware issue (HP) and that I had to return to the store where I bought it.
(BestBuy). I took it yesterday at BestBuy and they gave me a knew one. I did the same thing and upgraded to Windows 8.1 and questions of touchpad is back. So fairly sure is not a hardware problem.

    All windows updates are completed

I checked the Touchpad Driver and it is up-to-date.

NOTE: I plugged a wireless mouse for my laptop and when the touchpad freezes wireless mouse still works.

Does anyone know a fix for this problem? Everything else works fine on the laptop is just very annoying when you work and you need to close the session to get your touchpat to work again.

    Any help would appreaciate it.

    Jhon C

    It worked for me.

Go to the Generic USB (two of them) hub in Device Manager.

Go to the power management tab

Uncheck the box allowing the computer to turn off this device to save power.

    Turn it back on.

My touchpad stopped everything by searching for a solution on this forum. I have 'unchecked' boxes and the touchpad are property to life before the reboot. He has worked since then. (three days)

Hi Vira_Bathwar, welcome to the Forums of HP. The right-click menu is also known as the "context Menu". This can accumulate and get cluttered over time, causing it to be slower. The other possibility is system performance issues. I found a similar thread with a few suggestions that have worked for other people know this symtom. Hi, John. It's quite nervous of a member of the MS forum say that Dell is responsible to operate Windows. It wasn't Dell but MS who claims that Win10 has most of the necessary drivers and if not then the drivers Win7 and Win8.1 would work.

    johnsdagg
I was hoping that maybe Dell could find in the goodness of their hearts to a updated driver IDT 92HDxxx... pretty please?

I doubt that it is possible for two reasons. Dell went from IDT Realtek as the audio seller so probably not more a a contract with IDT, if IDT even exist anymore. A year ago IDT was acquired by another company. I do not know its current status, but it is sure that the acquiring company will not be upgrading old software IDT. Reference Dell itself does not write the audio drivers. Even when IDT was the seller I believe that Win7 drivers are the final versions - no version 8 or 8.1 I think.

The native Windows audio driver can't stand struggling external mic. It is a MS 'known problem '. MS must implement a decision-making support, but there is no indication that it will be. Meanwhile, you have two workaround solutions. You can switch backwards between the natives and the IDT drivers. At some point Win10 could leave the IDT driver works correctly. Or get an outlet cheap usb audio to the microphone. Struggling running out-audio driver usb Windows native usb and so dependent no driver IDT.

  • WiFi problem after upgrade to Windows 10

    Greetings!

I read a few posts on WiFi problems after the (improper) upgrade of Windows 10. I have a ThnkPad T530 which I've upgraded to Windows 10 Windows 7 in September (too late to roll back). Here's my question:

I have three computers on my desk. This standard T530 running Windows 10, a ThnkPad E555 running Windows 7 and a Dell running Windows 8. I used all three last Friday. I installed Norton on all three Friday and everything went without a hitch. When I first started their return to the top of this morning, the two others came online as usual. The ThinkPad T530 connected by a router in the company, but has no access to the internet. I can connect to the hotspot on my phone and it connects fine. I tried to turn the WiFi connection and then turn it on again, restart, by killing and restarting the business connection, etc. Nothing changes.

    Help, please

    Ben

    The Aspire has:

Driver Atheros wireless network adapt AR5BWB222 10.0.0.38 Wednesday 2/15/12

    So far, I have:

    1. in the properties Atheros AR5BWB222 Wireless Network Adapter, I unchecked the box in the tab property management who read allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

1B. Made sure flight mode was in the off position.

1 c. Forget exactly where I did, but made certain settings in another? location have been set to "Maximum Performance".

    2. check that the firmware is updated on my network router, the value 2 of WPA - PSK (AES) security.

    3. search through many forums to read the responses of people upgrading Windows 10 WiFi issues - seems it is a widespread problem, although no one said that the WiFi signal loss was intermittent, as is my laptop. Shots of the Internet for my research also shows WiFi problems occurred in the past for installation of Windows 8. (So far have not come across mentions of WiFi problems for the latest installations of Windows 7).

    4. in exploring my laptop, I came across a page of Microsoft Updates - SEE ATTACHED. I was surprised to find that these updates go out quite frequently during the day. For example, 10 separate updates between 23:30 and 16:24 on August 1 and 18 separate updates between 12 h 06 at 15:57 on August 2.  Included in the record of updates for August 1 and August 2. 2. my ISP is a VOIP/Internet, using a Westell and a single Cisco router configuration. I have not taken into account if they can be a cause of the problem.

    3. I read on a forum that someone corrected their problem with WiFi connection by changing their setting include TKIP security router

    Hello!

FYI, this has worked for me, finally a solution!

The strangest thing - I have uninstalled the driver Atheros. Do NOT reinstall it. After uninstalling the driver Atheros, a right screen Windows 10 panel immediately appeared style - either on advice of Panel or in the page settings of WiFi, was asleep, can't remember which - that contains an entry box marked my wifi password. I entered the password and boom, the wifi worked. He has been since.

Once again thank you. Mark resolved.

  • Dell XPS Ultrabook 12 has network using WIFI connection problem after upgrade to Windows 10

I have a Dell laptop XPS Ultrabook 12 that worked fine on Windows 8.1. When Microsoft prompted me to sign up for upgrade to Windows 10, I hesitated, but finally, I signed up for it. In recent months, I have been asked several times upgraded to Windows 10 but I just ignored and delay the update as much as possible, because I need to work with the laptop and I can't afford to have problems after the upgrade.  To my horror, Microsoft forced an install of Windows 10 this morning without allowing me to delay and just after the upgrade, I can't connect to my existing network. I have therefore no access to the internet and I am currently typing this complaint using another PC. I noticed that the laptop can connect to the network automatically when I walk my router but the connection will last only a few minutes, and then he'd cut off. I tried to connect and the message I get is "unable to connect to this network. I checked with "ipconfig/all", wifi said media disconnected. I checked with the Dell support website and downloaded and installed a newer driver, but the problem persisted. Apparently the surf on the internet, this problem is faced with a number and any suggestions to fix do not work (after that I tried).

  • Keyboard problems after upgrade to Windows 10

    Hello

I have problems with my keyboard as by chance after I had updated to windows 10. Right now my "6" does not work and when I press '5' key he made just the following '5666666666666666' and keep repeating 6s forever. If I press the left button down 'ctrl' it is also the exact same thing as the number five keys when you press. I ran utility troubleshooting of windows, so that my driver was updated, and can not solve the problem. Now I'll have to use an external keyboard to type this message. I wonder if I'm to potentially the keys being stripped or is it a problem of windows 10. It causes work very well when you type with the on-screen keyboard and an external keyboard. I have messaged microsoft and they told me the following:

    Method 1:
Try changing the keyboard layout of the English (United States) type language in the search bar and try to change the layout of the keyboard and check if the problem persists. This is to check if this is due to the keyboard layout of the related issues.
    Method 2:
Try to install the drivers for the keyboard in compatibility mode and check if the problem persists. This is to check if this is due because of compatibility issues.
Now, to install in Compatibility Mode, follow these steps:

    a. Locate the executable file (.exe file) for the driver installation program.
    b. right click on the file and then click Properties.
    (c) in the Package name properties dialog box, click the Compatibility tab.
    d. Click to select run this program in compatibility mode for check box, click Windows 8 with which it is compatible with in the run this program in compatibility mode for the list, and then click OK.
    e. double-click the executable file to start the Setup program.

problem is that I don't know how to do the second method

    Any suggestion would be great

    Thank you

    Hello

There is usually no associated with a built-in keyboard driver. Looks like something is off with the material.

It is unlikely that this would cause the actual update of Windows 10. It is possible that the connection between the buttons '5' and '6' are short-circuited, the computer stop typing "6" after a few hours.

If you have a handy toothpick, run it on the sides of the 5 and 6 keys while the machine is turned off. It can clear all grime, press 6.

  • TouchSmart HP ENVY 15-j040us Notebook PC-problem with internet gambling after upgrade to 8.1 windows

I have a HP Envy 15-j040us Notebook PC Touchsmart is currently using 8.1 64-bit windows.  I play 2 Farmville on Facebook.  I started having problems after installing Windows 8.1.  My mouse hesitates and reluctant game and I can barely move on the screen.  I am not real computer savy but can follow directions if you can just tell me what I need to do to correct this.  Everything on the screen is just very slow and the mouse does not seem to want to go where I'm pointing to it.

    Hello @aodom ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you have any questions, play Farmville 2 since the update to Windows 8.1.

First, update the drivers for your graphics (GPU) with the following download: driver Intel graphics high definition (HD).

Once you have done this, update Adobe Flash player plugin with the following download: Adobe - Flash Player

Once you have updated the GPU and the Flash Player, disable hardware acceleration for Flash on your laptop:

    1. Right click any where on the Farmville game once it has loaded.
    2. Select settings.
    3. Make sure that you are on the tab display/graph (see image below).
    4. Clear the check box to enable hardware acceleration if it is available. If you are prompted to activate the control of your webcam or microphone that these steps do not apply because the game is not trying to use the acceleration.

Let me know if it helps.
