This kind of speculation is very open and sensitive to the Oracle version.
It is possible that it will not be supported in future versions of DBD::Oracle.
Please notify dbi-users on exactly why you had to build it that way.

What is your problem?

It seems that everything is built very well.

    Hi all,

    I have weblogic 10.3.6 with Forms services under redhat5, I compiled a form with a user under a database11g and the .fmx file is generated, oe n I a database 10 g 2, when I tried to compile the same form with a user in the context of this DB it give me "has not created the form" nd when I checked the problem I found that it gives me the problem in each statement that connect to the database (select call procedure...) have you ideas, thank you for your answers

    Hamid yes I am able to connect to the database 10g, I did some research and I found that weblogic Forms services work with DB 10.2.0.4 or we have to DB11g, so we will know our customer is.

  • DBD::Oracle and instant client - can't find tnsnames.ora

    Hi all! :-)

    Guys, please, help!

    My OS: CentOS 6.6, i386

    Installed:

    Oracle - instantclient12.1 - basic - 12.1.0.2.0 - 1.i386

    Oracle - instantclient12.1 - devel - 12.1.0.2.0 - 1.i386

    Oracle - instantclient12.1 - sqlplus - 12.1.0.2.0 - 1.i386

    Perl-DBI-1, 609 - 4.el6.i686

    and last perl-DBD-Oracle-1, 74-CPAN.

    Apache 2.2.15, mod_perl 2.0.4

    SELinux disabled.

    ORACLE_HOME = usr/lib/oracle/12.1/client, LD_LIBRARY_PATH = /usr/lib/oracle/12.1/client/lib

    tnsnames.ora exist in /usr/lib/oracle/12.1/client/network/admin

    I wrote a simple perl script to test the connection:

    use strict;
    use DBI;

    my $dbh = DBI ->connect("dbi:Oracle:crm", 'login', 'password',{RaiseError => 1} );
    $dbh->disconnect();

    When I try to run script command line - everything isn't ok, no errors (Yes, I can run queries, etc... )

    But!

    With apache, I get an error:

    DBI connect('crm','login',...) failed: ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach) in /opt/otrs/bin/cgi-bin/oratest.pl on line 9

    I am trying to add ORACLE_HOME with PerlSetEnv and script see (I checked through % ENV), but no luck.

    Probably easier to use EZconnect instead of tnsnames.ora:

    $machine = 'my.oracle.database.com';
     $port = 1521;
     $sid = 'my_sid';
     $dbh = DBI->connect("dbi:Oracle://$machine:$port/$sid", $user, $pass) ||
      die "Failed to connect: $DBI::errstr\n";

  • Perl under Oracle

    Hallo,

    For the perl script on an Oracle database, it is necessary to install DBI, usually shipped with perl and DBD:Oracle, usually installed on an Oracle Client.

    Is it safe to install DBD:Oracle on an Oracle server with an instance direct works? It does not imply a re-release of binary files links?

    TIA

    There is a full version of Perl is installed with the RDBMS, there DBI built in already. You can use it, but it needs a bit of config with shell var to take full advantage of it. Obviously add other modules is not supported, but depends on how much you have to do with it.

    Norbert Debes book the Secrets of the Oracle database, go to how to take advantage of the Oracle supplied kit of Perl.

    http://Apress.com/Book/view/9781430219521

    If you decide to upgrade DBI in Perl local on your operating system, it will not damage a running instance. The o/s compiler simply needs access to the Oracle header and library files to link to.

    You can also create a Perl DBI against the customer Oracle now, that we did it in my shop. It gives a very light Oracle client with which you can join Perl Oracle instances and saves having to install a huge RDBMS or customer kit.

I get a pop up saying - bar FILE CAN BE USED BY ANOTHER APPLICATION, or FORMAT of FILE CAN NOT NOT BE supported BY any OF THE INSTALLED CONVERTERS OR THE FILE is maybe DAMAGED. • Autenticateing Oracle with Active Directory database

    I installed Oracle database 11.2.0.3.0 on Windows 2008 Server R2 64 bit. The company uses Microsoft Active Directory and I need to set up access to the Oracle database for users that are stored in Active Directory. Do I need another product in addition to the database to do? If so, what version of the product would need?

    To bind the user to Oracle database for users that are stored in Active Directory, and you must create the Oracle schema objects and an Oracle context.

  • Configure the new Oracle with HFM SSP database

    Hello

    We have upgraded the oracle database to new version 11g. We use HFM 11.1.1.3 version. When I tried to configure the new database oracle with existing shared Services HFM, the EPM Configurator is suspended. Please could you clarify the below a few questions before starting the configuration of the database.

    1. don't we want to modify properties or configuration files before starting the EMP Configurator?

    2. If we want to edit the file reg.properties, which is the password shows in the file reg.properties (here is the structure of the reg.properties file)? If I have to give password of Oracle database schema?

    JDBC. URL = jdbc\:hyperion\:oracle\: / / xxxxx;
    password =?
    JDBC. Driver = Hyperion.JDBC.Oracle.OracleDriver
    local. Value = #.
    username = schemaname

    Thank you
    Michel K

    Is it a new database server that you want to configure? As if he was just updated, you should not need to do anything.
    If this is a new database server, then have a read of the doc within Oracle Support - "How To Change Shared Services repository database in EMP 11 [ID 976279.1]".

    See you soon
