    Hello

    I have archived redo lit and the log_archive_dest_1 =' LOCATION = / u01/app/oracle/oradata/aspasiad/arch /'

    My redo files are created it fine and I manage them manually. The disc is more complete and I noticed thousands of files in /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1/dbs/ all seem to be additional archived redo logs...

    Why were they created?
    what they are?
    How can I configure oracle not create them?
    It is better to keep them?

  • MakefileException: Error in invoking target 'install' of makefile ' / u01/app/oracle/dbhome_1/ctx/lib/ins_ctx.mk'

    I try to install Oracle database 11 g 2 on Oracle Linux 7.1 on a 64-bit server. During the installation process, this error is coming:

    Exception name: MakefileException

    Exception string: error in invoking target 'install' of makefile ' / u01/app/oracle/dbhome_1/ctx/lib/ins_ctx.mk'. See

    ' / u01/app/oraInventory/logs/installActions2015-07-01_06-11-44PM.log' for details.

    The exception severity: 1

    The research revealed only one potential problem with missing libraries. During installation, all the libraries who have failed the audit have been installed by using the 64-bit versions of Oracle Linux 7.1 DVD. So, there is no library missing in this case.

    Is it possible that the 32-bit versions must be installed? I just did the 64-bit ones.

    What does ins_ctx.mk do? Can we ignore this error without risk?

    Difficulty for it's a drop and recreate the user dbsnmp. On any * nix db host, with a connect sysdba, drop/create/and a grant:

    @? / rdbms/admin/catnsnmp

    ...

    @? / rdbms/admin/catsnmp

    ...

    Grant execute on sys.dbms_job to dbsnmp.

    If you are using grid OEM or Cloud control dbsnmp 12 c is one of "used" connection credentials. Or if the grid is not in use on your site and can probably stop right after the catnsnmp and let dbsnmp user out of the instance. If someone wants to 'snoop' around dbsnmp is generally quite high on the list of "things to try" to see it as "lies" in the instance.

    Hello;

    It looks like how you restored the control antagonized file a copy who did align with current data files.

    I just tested this I'll now what I did different here in a moment.

    My test:

    http://www.Visi.com/~mseberg/RMAN/simulating_loss_of_control_files_rman.html

    The link shows all the details. What jumps out is two things. I put the DBID and I let RMAN decide what control file to restore. View I had the same ORA-01589 like you and how I recovered from it.

    RMAN > restore database;
    SQL > alter database open resetlogs;
    RMAN > reset database;

    and then the test data.

    Best regards

  • Cannot start dbconsole - OC4J Configuration problem

    We have a physical database ensures 11 g 2. I tried to start OEM but failed
    [oracle@cchordrdb bin]$ emctl start dbconsole

    I checked the u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/oc4j/j2ee file. File OC4J_DBConsole_cchordrdb_cchdr is not there. How to create this file?

    It is not possible to monitor and administer a basic physical or logical standby, IE using Enterprise Manager Database Control Data Guard. This is mainly due to the fact that Database Control is designed to monitor the 1-database and an environment Data Guard, by definition, includes more than 1 database.
    Of course, database Control, can be used to monitor the current main database (with no capacity to administer or control Data Guard related features).

    You can also refer to the MOS score:

    * How - to set up control data for a waiting logical or physical base [ID 315116.1] *.

    However, you can use OEM Grid control. Enterprise Manager Grid Control provides the functionality for display, monitor, and administer the primary and standby databases in a Data Guard configuration.

  • Problem to install Oracle 11 g - impossible to establish a remote connection

    In short:

    I just installed Oracle 11 g and created a data base and the headset, but I'm unable to connect remotely with a customer database.

    My environment:

    Oracle 11g is installed on a VirtualBox (4.3.18) Red Hat Linux 6.5 VM.  The host operating system is Mac OS X Yosemite.  Linux VM is assigned a static ip address and the host and vm have host entries to resolve this name server:

    192.168.58.152 rhel65opdev-vm

    I am able to ping rhel65opdev-vm from these two places.

    Host: 64 bytes from 192.168.58.152: icmp_seq = 0 ttl = 64 time = 0,287 ms

    VM: 64 bytes of rhel65opdev-vm (192.168.58.152): icmp_seq = 1 ttl = 64 time = 0.027 ms

    I am also able to ssh into the Linux vm without problem.  If I try to telnet to the virtual machine on the port of configured database:

    = > telnet rhel65opdev-vm 1521
    192.168.58.152 by train...
    Telnet: connect to address 192.168.58.152: connection refused

    Telnet: unable to connect to the remote host

    Login as a user other my oracle on the same VM user, can I tnsping data base successfully:

    tnsping $ OP

    Try to contact (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = rhel65opdev-vm)(PORT = 1521))) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = OP)))

    OK (10 ms)

    The same user non-oracle, I am able to do appear SQLDeveloper and establish a connection with the database and check its schema.  But on the Mac, I am unable to use (the Mac version of) SQLDeveloper to do the same.  I get an error: IO error: the network adapter could not establish the connection.  Code 17002 provider.

    I have another Red Hat 6.5 virtual VM from where I'm modeling this new machine, which has the same version of Oracle on it, installed and working (which I myself installed without problem, but a long time ago).  I am able to connect remotely to this base since my Mac using Toad and SQLDeveloper without problem and I can telnet to port of database and there is no problem.

    I point out that I recently removed from the database and reinstalled.  I have created only one service: OP, but the OPXDB see below seems to be a previous installation, which can contribute to my question - not sure.

    Here are a few releases of various orders, I tried following suggestions I've seen on different threads, I found through research:

    When I have the same tail on the defective VM log, the connection request is not that much (and so nothing is seen in this newspaper).

    In conclusion, I am of ideas on how to diagnose and correct the network error.  I would be grateful for any help.

    Thank you

    Scott Ellis

    This can prove to be worthless, consider that on some * nix systems 'iptables' is enabled as part of the base operating system installation.

    your symptoms may change if you turn off or disable iptables on the virtual machine

    Iptables is used to set up, maintain and control intellectual property tables

    Linux kernel packet filtering rules.  Several different tables can

    be defined.   Each table contains a number of built-in chains and may

    also contain user-defined strings.

    Each string is a list of rules that can match a set of packages.

  • Need help bridge database for MS SQL Server, error ORA-28546 configuration problems

    Dear all,

    I'm trying to configure Oracle to MS SQL Server(I don't have admin access to the MS SQL Server) database gateway.  When I try to test the dblink connection, I get the following error.

    I published select * from dual@xyz;

    ORA-28546: initialization of the connection failed, probable Net8 admin error

    ORA-28511: interruption of the RPC connection to heterogeneous remote agent using SID = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST=localhost) (PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = dg4msql)))

    ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines of xyz

    28546 0000 - ' failed to initialize connection, unlikely Net8 admin error.

    My setup is as follows.

    1 oracle 11 GR 2 under Oracle Linux 6, the same gateway version is installed on the same server but different base directory.

    2 oracle DB base directory is u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1, gateway home directory is/u01/gateway.

    => so that it always uses the database as Oracle_home House

    With this info, I rechecked the listener and saw that you are missing the ORACLE_HOME setting in the dg4msql section of SID. Please correct your entry to mssql_sid to:

    (SID_LIST =

    (SID_DESC =

    (GLOBAL_DBNAME = db.abc.com.tw)

    (ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1)

    (Program name = / u01/gateway/bin/dg4msql)

    )

    )

    Then please stop and restart the mssql listener and check again.

    Remove "DEFAULT TABLESPACE Tbs_1" of your script, create your database and create this tablespace later. Make default later if necessary.

  • Problem to start Oracle 10 G Enterprise Linux

    Hi guys! Please I need help.
    Recentlly I installed Oracle 10 g on Linux Enterprise 5.4, the finished good, instalation I loged in isqlplusselect a few example of table, but then when I reboot to start computer oracle can't, I changed/var/opt/oracle/oratab the opsion 'Y' in oracle sid: oracle home.
    When I manually start isqlplus and try to connect, I get this error "ERROR ORA 12541: TNS: no listner, I tried to start id form/oracle/bin, but I gess, it's not working."
    Can someone help me with this, I mean how can I start to oracle, and what I need to chang for automatic start
    Thank you

    OK, here's what you need to do to 10.2.0.1 (I guess that's what you mean by 10 gr 2):

    1. open the dbstart script located in /home/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/bin

    2. search for all occurrences of the string "/ ade/vikrkuma_new/oracle" and replace it with "$ORACLE_HOME". This is a known bug fix.

    3. edit/etc/oratab and set option to Y for the database that you want to start automatically.

    4. create a file /etc/init.d/dbora as root with the following content (defining the correct values for ORA_HOME and ORA_OWNER):

    #!/bin/sh
    # chkconfig: 345 99 10
    # description: Oracle auto start-stop script.
    #
    # Set ORA_HOME to be equivalent to the $ORACLE_HOME
    # from which you wish to execute dbstart and dbshut;
    #
    # Set ORA_OWNER to the user id of the owner of the
    # Oracle database in ORA_HOME.

    ORA_HOME=+path_to_your_oracle_installation+
    ORA_OWNER=+your_database_sid+

    if [ ! -f $ORA_HOME/bin/dbstart ]
    then
    echo "Oracle startup: cannot start"
    exit
    fi

    case "$1" in
    'start')
    # Start the Oracle databases:
    # The following command assumes that the oracle login
    # will not prompt the user for any values
    su - $ORA_OWNER -c $ORA_HOME/bin/dbstart
    ;;
    'stop')
    # Stop the Oracle databases:
    # The following command assumes that the oracle login
    # will not prompt the user for any values
    su - $ORA_OWNER -c $ORA_HOME/bin/dbshut
    ;;
    esac

    5 set permissions for the new file (replace "dba" with defined during the installation of Oracle dba OS group):

    # chgrp s/n /etc/init.d/dbora
    # chmod 750 /etc/init.d/dbora

    6. run:

    # chkconfig--level 345 released on

    Restart and test if the DB starts correctly.

    I hope this helps.

    And by the way, I'm not Russian, Bulgarian. But you were close enough ;)

    It is a symptom of textbooks classic does not have read and followed the original instructions to prepare the downloaded files.  You should have two files zip files.  They both must be decompressed in the same directory.  If you unzip using Windows graphic interface - in right click on the name of the file and selecting "extract all...". "the default behavior will be to create a directory, the same name as the zip file and extract in it.  Thus, file_1_of_2 pulls in directory_1_of_2 and file_2_of_2 extracted in directory_2_of_2.  You must override this stupid behavior by default and specify the directory yourself.  And specify the SAME directory for both files.

    Or just go to a command prompt, change directories to the directory where the two zip files are located and deliver "unzip " and "unzip ", and they will both be properly unpack to a directory named "database".
