Problems of Compatibility Mode

Windows 7 RC x 32 Build 7100

I'm trying to run some games that are not supported by Windows 7, so I run it in compatibility mode.
Right click > properties > compatibility
I set the mode to one that might work and I checked the box "Run as Administrator"
However, when I run the .exe I get the error message "___.exe has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem... »
He would go a little and then close

What happens to a certain programs that I think should be able to work.

I did not use hacks to remove the watermark in bottom-right corner which is what other people have problems with.

Well, RC's knowh to have some questions. They have been fixed in RTM. You can try the RTM version or wait for sale retail avalability.

    Hello

    I have a client that has installed the SQL Server 2012 with compatibililty mode Server (Server 2008, 100). Hyperion configuration seems to have proceeded and I was able to correctly configure the environment. I'm afraid that there could be a few unforeseen errors that may appear later. I know according to the support matrix 2012 version is not supported with hyperion 11.1.2.3 but did anyone try it before and you face any problem?

    I've not seen any problems with compatibility mode if the problem is that it is not yet support that will probably help not means if there were issues related to the Oracle database.

  • CSS Float Drop in IE8 but not Compatibility Mode

    I'm testing code to my homepage on different browsers and met the common problem of the fall of the IE float.  This does not work in Firefox, Chrome, Opera or IE8 in Compatibility Mode; but does not occur in IE8 standard mode.  This is a little confusing, since I usually encounter this problem in Compatibility Mode.

    I tried using clear: none; as I thought the content was clear the float: left property of a big picture flash on the left side of the window, but it does not solve the problem.  I have 3 Heights image buttons combined equal to that of the flash image (all 622px), and these are all in a div floating to the right column.  They are all RAS margin: 0 and padding: 0, border: No.  The flash image has its own class declaring margin: 0, padding: 0, border: nothing more.  These div tags is fixed pixel widths and heights.  I tried placing them in a larger container div with fixed width and height, which does not solve the problem.  Yet once again, this only happens in IE8 Compatibility Mode.

    This is the code below:

    div id = "container" >
    embed src = "index.swf" allowscriptaccess = "always" allowfullscreen = "true" height = "622" width = "509" align = "left" class = "flashhome" > / embed > "
    div id = "homecontright" >
    a href = "services.html? panel = 5" >
    img src = "button1.gif" align = "top" border = "0" alt = "b1" class = "imageright" / > /a > "
    a href = "smt.html" > "
    img src = "button2.gif" align = "top" border = "0" alt = "b2" class = "imageright" / > /a > "
    a href = "jobs.html" > "
    img src = "button3" align = "top" border = "0" alt = "b3" class = "imageright" / > /a >
    div >
    div class = "floatfix" > div >
    div id = "foot" align = "center" >
    contact info page footer
    div >
    div >

    This is the style of my separate style sheet information

    #homecontright {margin: 0; padding: 0; border: none; width: 493px; height: 622px; overflow: visible; float: right; display: block ;}}

    . ImageRight {margin left: auto; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; display: block; float: right}

    .flashhome {width: 509px; height: 622px; margin: 0; padding: 0; float: left; border: none ;}}

    div #container {margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 0; width: 1002px; background-color: #A8CBE9 ;}}

    div #foot {background-color: #003366;}      border-color: #a8cbe9;      border-width: thin;      border-style: solid;      do-size: 10px;      Width: 996px;      padding: 0.2em;      margin-left: auto;     margin-right: auto;      text-align: center;      do-family: Arial, Helvetica, without serif.      make-weight: bold;      color: #FFFFFF;      height: 10px; }

    .floatfix {clear: both ;}}

    I tried remove all tanks, same, especially those in the class/div elements nested; but this has not done a thing.  This leads me to wonder if it's really a problem of fall of float, or am I missing something?

    EDIT: I can't post code so I removed the front support of all tags.  In addition, added a diagram to show that it is supposed to look like and what is happening in IE 8 compatibility.  Margins do not exist, they are there, so you can see the individual items

    Hello

    Use to incorporate it into your code will put IE8 in quirks mode for the doctype you use, so can you change code, (not as simple to change the name of tag, I'm afraid)?

    Reduce the size of the flash (in the code) apply a left margin to the image container and expand your main container. It's just to check if it works, I know it will probably break your layout for the moment, but if we can make it work, (sort of) in IE8 then we can work backward from there.

  • MIME type problem in version 4.1/4.2 Compatibility Mode

    Problem: when you view a PDF file, it displays OK in PDF if APEX 'Compatibility Mode' = ' 4.1 Pre', but displays in HTML mode ' 4.1 ' or '4.2 '. ""

    Apex: 4.2.2.00.11

    DB: 11 GR 2

    Web server: Apache on Linux

    More detailed description... This seems to be a MIME type problem with APEX (or maybe DB) release management.  The following code works as expected when run in mode ' 4.1 Pre'-IE.» It displays a PDF document in Acrobat appropriate / another plugin in several browsers (Firefox, Opera, Chrome, IE).  But just by changing 'Compatibility Mode' TI ' 4.2 "(ou encore «4.1"), then download the file but it appears like a bunch of random characters, and the web page header type MIME is "text/HTML". "."

    Note: this also happens with other types of files such as doc/xls/etc, but I would expect pricing PDF should also fix these.

    I'm a bit of a loss as to where this is the case, it seems that there is a difference in "Compatibility Modes" between the creation of the header HTML using "OWA_UTIL.mime_header" or the path of the component it goes through before coming to apache.

    The only other thing I could think is that we do a little redirection to display the PDF file, although it seems like it might be a Kipper.  Basically, we use page 560 as a container and then view the PDF with page 561 in an embeded frame within page 560.  So we have, on page 560, which is the one that we reference throughout the application, a region with a source of "& lt;" IFRAME src =? p = & APP_ID.:561: & SESSION.height = "500" width = "700" & gt & lt; / iframe & gt < / pre > '.  Then on page 561, in a process "We charge - before header", we call 'DOWNLOAD_APPLICANT_PDF' code (below).

    Note: I tried to call "apex_application.stop_apex_engine" after "DOWNLOAD_APPLICANT_PDF", as suggested by a few threads, but it does not solve the problem and caused some low-level system errors.

    Code:

    < pre >

    CREATE or REPLACE PROCEDURE DOWNLOAD_APPLICANT_PDF (p_doc_id in NUMBER

    )

    AS

    V_LENGTH NUMBER;

    lob_loc BLOB;

    l_display_inline CHAR: = '1';

    BEGIN

    SELECT pdf_data, DBMS_LOB.getlength (pdf_data)

    IN lob_loc, v_length

    OF pdf_dest

    WHERE pdf_dest_id = p_doc_id;

    OWA_UTIL.mime_header (' application/pdf', FALSE);

    HTP.p ("Content-length: ' |") v_length);

    HTP.p ('Content-Disposition: inline; filename = "mondoc.pdf" ');

    OWA_UTIL.http_header_close;

    WPG_DOCLOAD.download_file (lob_loc);

    END;

    < / pre >

    Found the solution and quite painfully simple... just need to make the following call before defining the HTML header information:

    HTP.init;

  • Flex SDK 4.1 + 'Use the Compatibility Mode 3 Flex' = PROBLEMS

    7.14.10 / 06:10

    HERE'S THE QUESTION:

    When using the Flex SDK 4.1 and by checking the box 'Use Flex 3 Compatibility Mode', the Visual anomalies occur (regardless if the styles or skins is used). These include text in list ComboBox becomes invisible. It goes the same for the alert box, where no text is seen.

    I am including a screenshot showing the questions. The top image shows what happens when compatibility is checked - the ComboBox list text is invisible. The lower picture combo shows what happens when the box is not checked.

    Please note that when you use the old Flex 4.0 SDK these visual anomalies are not and everything works fine.

    proof.png

    @Jason Villmer,

    In my view, the problem you describe is http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/SDK-26940.

    There is a workaround solution listed in the bug report that works (based on my tests), or you could probably put the leadership styles and layoutDirection worldwide using a block Style.

  • Firefox only runs in compatibility mode

    I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit,

    I've been running Firefox with no problems, however, today when using crashing all of a sudden and I was unable to start.

    It will display a menu with choice to run in safe mode and a few other options, but I wouldn't be able to start in safe mode, because, while displaying the options, the message "windows is trying to solve the problem" appears freezing firefox and the only way out is to leave the program.

    However, if I decide to start firefox in compatibility mode with XP sp3, I can use it without any visible problem.

    The only changes that I did is updated Java yesterday, but there were no questions just after the update.

    How would I fix this?

    Need the latest Java to run some applications (especially chess) that requires the latest version of / i /.

    I have nothing in the crash from today newspaper

    We are sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing. Please perform the following steps to give us an ID of crash report which helps us to learn more about the cause of the accident.

    1. Entered on: crashes in the Firefox address bar (this is where you enter your website name) and press ENTER. You should now see a list of submitted incident reports.

  • NB - 200 can not handle the compatibility mode for HDD Contoller...

    Hello everyone!
    I would like to make it work on my nb 200 ubuntu 10.04 netbook edition netbook. The installation is done, grub works very well (I kept windows xp and have dualboot grub-controlled). Of course, I asked first in the ubuntu forum to solve my problems. I thought it was done, but in fact it wasn't. See the ubuntu forum for more information: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9346966&postcount=1
    Switch mode Compatible HARD disk (in bios) controller works great for ubuntu, but Windows XP have problems. XP is launched (I see the Welcome screen), but then the computer restarts. I updated the Bios to version 1.9 (02/2010), but this does not solve my problem.
    In the threat of ubuntu, a help very kin (darkod) says:
    + You can try, but if changing the controller type makes a difference, I'm not sure this will help. This seems not related to ubuntu. +
    + I'm surprised change compatible controller made XP no boot. If a hard drive is sata, you, instead, compatibility mode is required to even install XP because it does not include inside SATA drivers. +
    + I guess it depends how the manufacturer put the netbook. +

    Thanks in advance for your help.

    I tested the functionality of Windows XP Home edition on my Satellite with AHCI mode and if the WXP was preinstalled with the SATA mode enabled it will not work when the mode is replaced by the compatibility option. I get the blue screen every time if I want to start Windows XP Home edition.

    I think that you do need to make the decision. If you want to use both operating systems, I think you should change the AHCI mode to compatibility and reinstall Linux and Windows XP Home edition.
    Then it works well, but you will not have full disk under Windows XP Home edition as performance when you use the SATA mode.

  • Can not solve the problem of compatibility of Civilization IV with Windows 7

    I installed the game. When he finished, I clicked on the icon and was opening a window: "this program has compatibility issues. I tried to solve what makes a right-click on the icon, in "propieties" a part of "compatibility". I have swiched to "windows XP (service pack 2)", but when I tried to open the game, again got the same promblem. I tried to use the Troubleshoot utility, but I got the same error. Then I download the latest patch (1.74 (V) of the firaxis page. I get the DLL error, so I installed the DX that was on this page.

    Now, the game open the window "loading...". ', then the display is "pixeled" (I Don t know how it is said but was something like that), then the "loading" window closes and the screen to return to normality.

  • Try to install Indiana Jones and the infernal Machine, Windows (8 / ME) compatibility mode does not

    I try to install Indian Jones and the Doomsday Machine on my computer.
    I tried using the compatibility mode for windows 98 / ME, but it does not work. When I run the program splash arrives, but when I click on install it closes then nothing happens. There are no errors.
    I am running Windows 7 64 bit.
    Also I install the original CD, and it has worked before in older computers (running Win 98 of course).
    Any help would be appreciated.

    The game should run fine under Win7 64 bit. The problem is that the installer is only 16 bit and is no longer supported in Windows. Just use a different Setup program. Try www.markusegger.at. I'm running the Doomsday Machine, Alliance Xwing, Xwing v's Tiefighter, and Grim fandango all on 64 bit Win7 all using custom Setup programs.

    I also used the original X-wing, Tie-fighter and fate of Atlantis via Dosbox.

    2. set your screen resolution of 1024 x 768 (or more), and then click OK.
