Problems of performance after a random amount of time

Hello

I'm hunting for a problem of performance for quite a while now and I would like to ask the community for tips.

But first things first:

We have installed ESXi 4.0.0 (219382) on a Dell PowerEdge R710 with an Intel Xeon processor [email protected] and 8 GB of RAM. A PERC 6 / i controller is configured in RAID 5 for storage. A variety of facilities of Fedora and Ubuntu (6.06, 8.04) are running as the guest systems.

When starting a guest performance subjective experience is thin and use hdparm, we get reading disc, 35 to 60 MB/srates. However, after an indefinite period, the performance of the system goes down and hdparm reported rates of about 1 MB/sdisc. This happens on the guests at random and after random times. The only job here is to stop the prompt and start again (reset doesn't work here).

I have already studied the documentation available as http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-3930 and followed the recommendations, but I had no success so far. Don't check the performance of the ESXi host using the Client vSphere and esxtop, no load heavy on the queues of the processor or disk can be noticed. Comments file systems are not aligned, but I doubt that this would be the reason for such a success enormous performance.

What takes me by surprise is the random time amounts. Enabling VT - x in the BIOS after installing ESXi would play a role here?

I would appreciate any advice.

Thank you

Andreas

But ESX needs memory for itself, approximately 1 GB, and there is memory above each guest (for example a guest of 1 GB has about 128 General fresh MB).  ESX will also try to keep some are free (in a 8 GB machine ESX will generally try to keep the use of the RAM to about 6.5 GB or less in my experience).

These factors combined are why you see ball and swap figures.

Your options are to reduce the RAM allocation or adding more physical RAM.  Another option in some cases is to move the files to a decent SSD vSwap.

Please give points for any helpful answer.

    Hello

    Customers can request a data retention policy is set to EchoSign account. Once the data retention is configured, the service automatically removes agreements that have reached their terminal State (signed, canceled, expired) accounts receivable. A change of Document retention contract must be signed by the customer until changes are made.

  • Remove a movieclip from the stage after a fixed amount of time (or once it has finished its animation)

    I have a movieclip animation that is added to the scene at the beginning of the .swf.  His introduction to the game and the user is asked to click on the movieclip to start the animation.

    Once the animation is complete, I would like the movieclip to be removed from the scene.

    How can I do this?  Can I set up a kind of event handler that listens on if the movieclip has completed then start a function once its finished out of the scene?  What methods to look out for the finishing of the movieclips?

    See you soon

    There is no particular event that is called when a movieclip stop playing games,

    what you could do is inside your shipment of movieclip intro an event as soon as the animation is completed

    something like... dispatchEvent (new Event ("introFinished");

    and all you have to do is add and event listener for movieclip intro intro.addEventListener ("introFinished", onIntroFinished);

    When your onIntroFinished is called, you can remove the intro to the scene.

    Hello

    I use a custom source based on BDB - 5.1.19 (excxx_repquote)

    NSite = 2

    -l' test is to isolate the customer from the master (brain) and reconnect after a random time include 1 sec to 10 sec

    Set the priority of replication for this environment group election.
    An election first selects the site with the most recent log
    documents such as the new master. If several sites are the most
    recent log records, the site with the highest priority value
    is selected as the master.
    //
    cur_env.rep_set_priority (app_config-> priority);

    Set the policy that determines how master and client sites
    treat the acknowledgment of replication messages required for
    permanent record. The default policy of "quorum" requires only
    a quorum of the likely to be elected peers sufficient to ensure a permanent
    record remains durable if the election is held. The option 'all '.
    requires that all clients to recognize a permanent replication
    message instead.
    //

    Set the threshold for the minimum and maximum of the client time

    The following features of the basic replication can also be useful to your
    request. See Berkeley DB documentation for more details.
    -Master leases: strict consistency for data reads
    on a main site.
    -Delivery time: Customize the amount of time that waiting for Berkeley DB
    for such things as the election must be concluded or a master
    lease to be granted.
    -Client synchronization delay: managing the main site
    resources by spreading intensive customer resources
    synchronizations.
    -Blocked customer operations: return immediately with an error
    rather than wait indefinitely if a customer is operation
    blocked by a current client synchronization.

    NULL, cur-> peers? DB_REPMGR_PEER: 0);

    Configure heartbeat timeouts so that repmgr monitors the
    health of the TCP connection. Master sites disseminate a heartbeat
    at the frequency specified by the timeout DB_REP_HEARTBEAT_SEND.
    Customer sites waiting for activity of the messages of the length of the
    DB_REP_HEARTBEAT_MONITOR timeout before concluding that the
    connection to the master is lost. The DB_REP_HEARTBEAT_MONITOR
    timeout must be longer than the time-out DB_REP_HEARTBEAT_SEND.
    //

    cur_env.rep_set_timeout (DB_REP_HEARTBEAT_MONITOR, 10000000);

    The following features of repmgr can also be useful to your
    request. See Berkeley DB documentation for more details.
    -Regulates two sites of strict majority - in a two-site replication
    the group, to ask the two sites are available to elect a new
    master.
    -Timeout - customize the amount of time repmgr awaits
    for things as pending or try thanks
    to reconnect to other sites.
    -The site list - returns a list of currently known sites at repmgr.

    Now we can open our environment, although we are not ready to

    The detailed output shows that the site has won the election and the
    RepMgr code calls rep_start to become the master, but he is stuck
    waiting for a txn or a cursor to be resolved before this change of State
    may occur. I have not studied your application code. But if you have a
    cursor or txn, underway at the time, then you must resolve before
    the site may change the State.

    If you can reproduce this, it would be useful to see the stack traces
    the threads. That could confirm or deny that, in my view, I see.

  • High CPU use/Slow Performance after you install the updates of Windows

    I run Vista Business 32-bit.

    After you install many Windows updates in the last few days, I've known very slow performance after the system worked for a while. Resource monitor shows 70-100% CPU usage, even when you run all the apps (that I know of). This makes everyhting grind to a halt, same trip that the mouse jerky movements. I ran several complete system with McAfee anti virus scans and not found problems (using the latest software). The detail showed the so-called ", PID4 NT kernel and system" using 18% avialable CPU capacity, but this process is not always shown to use much more capacity when the slow performance occurs. Nothing else don't use much capacity CPU, I see.

    More recently, the capacity of the CPU became crazy, jumping from zero to 100% usage in a back a suite oscillation. When I shut down and restart, performance improves, but erodes little by little over time.

    Is this a sign of a virus, or is it a problem with the recent Windows updates or some kind of conflict with my software such as McAfee? How do I tell me what to do? Anyone else have this problem with the recent Windows updates?

    Help!  Thank you!!

    McAfee applications (and Norton) are known for not not upgrade (or uninstalling) itself.

    1. download the McAfee Consumer Product Removal, save it to your desktop tool: http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. now run this triple McAfee fix: http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507

    NOTE: Step #2 McAfee fix run the removal tool, you have already downloaded in my step #1 above.

    4 IMPORTANT! => After the reinstallation of the McAfee application (step #3 of the McAfee fix), manually & repeatedly updated the McAfee application, until you get a prompt "no update more".

    5. open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 & run the difficulty.

    6. OPTIONAL: For good measure, pen also Internet Explore (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & race that secure it in DEFAULT and modes and AGGRESSIVE. [1]

    7 restart a last time & test.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    [1] full Disclosure: the difficulty operating in AGGRESSIVE mode will remove your update history but not the list of installed updates.
  • Problems with sidebar after logon
    Hello
    We use the Windows with Windows Server 2008 Std R2 DC field. We currently have several offices of Vista that belong to the domain. DNS is configured as suggested by Ms. recommended and there is no other group policy in use than the default domain policy.
    After logon successful sidebar does'nt load completely (sidebar is displayed, but the clock is not displayed). Also, if you try to start Office MS Word it stuck in the loading screen. If you don't expect anything happens. Strange thing is that all other programs will be load normally (even other Office programs), but Word and Sidebar are stuck.
    All this happens completely random. You can open a successful session of 3 times, but then it happens again.
    This problem came just after computers, where joined to the domain. The proglem didn't happen while that computers in the workgroup.
    No idea what could be wrong?
    Please repost your question to the Discussion Windows Server group to: http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.server.general&cat=en_US_9741c575-ec92-42f8-85ba-00dfe1483cf5&lang=en&cr=US where the Windows Server experts will be happy to help you.  The fact that the Vista machines worked are in a working group suggests that the probllem is from the domain which means from the server.
    I hope this helps.
  • After updating, my .muse files take an extraordinary amount of time to open.
    Yesterday after a repair with support for a few hours the file began open in a reasonable amount of time. Everything worked normally through last night (although I don't think that anything was actually fixed/changed during the support session).
    Now back to the drawing board. It is not only a file, but a large number of files I have. They are larger around 800 MB. But this has never been a problem before the update.
    Adobe, thank you for the update! Any ideas out there? / Anyone else?
    I reinstalled the program and everything works well again. I don't know why I don't think of this first.
  • Flash animations stop after a random time
    The problem I encounter is that the flash movie files (each site) play for a moment or two, then will stop with little "loading" symbol turning constantly in the center of the screen. Flash movies used to work without problem, but in recent months, she went from does not to doesn't work do not at all. to a perhaps related problem sometimes downloads stop after a certain period of time and also seem to "hang on" to a random location. If I pause and then charging that restart the program or anything that will usually complete the download. It doesn't happen often but it happens. The flash animation, however, thing every time - no matter what browser I've tried. (Firefox, IE, IE with no Add-ons and Chrome in any case.)
    I tried the solutions I've found all over the internet, including Adobe and Microsoft forums, nothing helps. I unloaded flash with the Adobe uninstaller and reloaded flash. I tried different versions of flash - with and without a firewall on. I made sure I use the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer and even tried to run in "Administrator" mode. I've updated all the drivers that I can upgrade. I used a check of the register as a last resort. I even used the Dell partition to return my computer to the condition it was when I bought it and that has not changed anything either.
    Everything I've tried has made zero difference. In the hope that someone will have another idea for me to try, I put all the stats of my computer that I can think of below.
    Qwest internet operating at 20mbps
    Flash 10.1.102.64
    Hi, thanks for the info of Kill bits. I think an uninstallation/installation may be in order. However, I not to do this use the router, unplug it and use the modem directly.
    Use the administrator account.
    Download and SAVE to your desktop, the uninstall program:
    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/141/tn_14157.html
    Download and SAVE to your desktop, the installation program to use IE installer EXE
    http://www.Adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
    Close all the browser windows, you do not want to look on your desktop.
    Disable Messenger services, like yahoo, msn, etc. in the tray (area near the clock)
    Launch the uninstaller and when you are done, Reboot (restart) your computer.
    Run the installer for IE, run Setup for FF and when you're finished, restart.
    Then go to this site and test:
    http://www.Adobe.com/software/Flash/about/
    You can print these instructions to make it easier to follow. If you have any questions, let me know.
    I hope that since so many changes have been made, that a clean uninstallation/installation can run.
    And if he does so before using the router, that would be a problem. The Qwest ISP cannot be ruled out, but if you still have the problem after that, so needs.
    Thank you
  • Problems with mail after switching to macOS Sierra
    Hey all
    After having recently upgraded to macOS Sierra, I am unable to read my mail.
    I get the following error every time I check on "Get Mail".
    There may be a problem with the mail server or the network. Check the account settings "*" or try again.
    The server returned the error: Mail could not connect to the server 'pop1.tribcsp.com' using SSL on the default ports. Verify that this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct.
    What does this error message mean and how can I solve this problem.
    Thank you
    Hi Michael,
    I see your message that you get an error in the mail indicating that there is a problem with the mail server or the network.  To help get this problem resolved, I suggest that you follow the steps below:
    If mail refers to a problem with the mail server, or the network
    Mail will say that it is impossible to connect due to a problem with the mail server or the network. For example, the message may refer to a connection that has expired, or too many simultaneous connections:
    If you are connected to the Internet, but the connection has expired, your email provider might be affected by a discontinuance of service. Contact them or see their status Web page to ensure that their e-mail service is online. Examples of status pages:
    If the message indicates the number of simultaneous connections, too many of your devices is check your e-mail account at the same time. Quit Mail on one or more of your other devices.
    If you are still unable to send or receive e-mails
    1. Make sure that you have installed latest version of the Mac software updates, especially if the problem occurred immediately after the installation of a previous update.
    2. In OS X El Capitan or later version, you can see a status icon and the short error message in the upper right of the Mail window, under the search box. The message may indicate 'Network offline' or 'Connection failed', for example. Click the message to see more details on the issue.
    3. Check your connection to the Mail connection doctor. It might be able to say more on the issue.
    If you cannot send or receive e-mail on your Mac.
    Take care.
    I use a MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite, 10.10.5 - and after the last update, I have problems with Safari (version 9.1). Some Web pages I visit every day is more responsible (I get the message that the page needs to be recharged because she failed the first time, but this does not work then either). This problem started just after the last update. Does anyone else have this problem? What I have to go back to the previous version or can I fix this problem?
    If you have problems to open Web pages, take a look at these techniques proposed by Apple of troubleshooting.
    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT204098
    Go to the Safari menu (at the top right of your screen next to the Apple icon), choose 'Quit Safari'
    Press the "Shift" key and while holding this button on your unique keyboard, click the icon of Safari on your Dock.
    Open Safari - Preferences - Privacy - data to remove any Web site.
    Open the menu to go with the Option (Alt) key - library - key locate Safari folder and place it on your desktop. Restart your Mac, open Safari and delete the file from your desktop.
    Also, try the following steps:
    Restart your Mac.
    Try to start:
    -Stop your Mac
    -Wait until your computer turns off and after that press the power button
    -Just after you hear the startup tone, press in and hold the SHIFT key
    -Release the SHIFT key when you see a gray Apple sign and the progress under this sign bar
    -Once your Mac boot, restart dhcpd as you usually do.
    If this does not help, follow the instructions below:
    -Stop your Mac
    -Wait until your computer turns off and after that press the power button
    -Just after you hear the startup tone, press in and hold the SHIFT key
    -Release the SHIFT key when you see a gray Apple sign and the progress under this sign bar
    -Once you see office, start a scan Disk Utility to detect and repair file system errors (remember to choose your primary hard drive)
    -Click on the disc to check, then, if requested to solve the problems on the repair disk
    -After that click on verify disk permissions, and then click Repair disk permissions
    -Once the process is complete, stop your Mac and turn it on again after 30 seconds
    I hope this helps!
  • Problems with WiFi after put 10.11.2 up-to-date.
    Mid 2011 iMac.  Problems with WiFi after put 10.11.2 up-to-date.  No associated network.  Everything was fine before the update. All the pre 10.11.2 device works fine.  Anyone else having issues?  I have to disconnect and reconnect manually.  WiFi drops every 5 to 10 minutes.  Nothing has changed on the machine something of the update.
    Please do not comment on the age of the system.  Achieve a Mid 2011 arrived at a possible replacement point.  I have many other new Mac at home.  The Mid 2011 is spec'd with 16 GB of RAM, i7 and SSD.  It's always very fast.
    Thank you in advance for the answer...
    Hi Captainsniz
    There are a few things to try. Keep doing this until the problem disappears.
    First of all, if you have not already, shut down the computer completely, wait about 1 minute, then restart.
    Disconnect the wifi network either via system preferences, either by pressing the "Option" key and clicking on the wifi menu bar icon.
    Reset the DHCP lease by going to system preferences > network and show Advanced Options, and then click the button to "Renew the DHCP lease" TCP/IP tab.
    You can delete the wifi network of system preferences > network > network name... then close system preferences. Then reopen and add the network in.
    You can also restart your wifi router, it erases the old connections. Most of the routers you just turn off and wait a few minutes, then restart. You can also reset your ISP modem if you have a.
    Finally, you can try to reset the PRAM and SMC on your Mac. I'll get this info here on Apple Support KBs for your particular Mac.
    Be sure to back up your computer.
    Hope this helps, Greg
  • Problem with SP1 after reinstall clean Vista
    I did a "clean and reinstall" on Vista 32 bit Home Premium machine due to problems of registry after a "System Mechanic" install.  The reinstallation of Vista went well so I started to download and install all updates for the computer.   Everything downloaded and installed fine until I got to SP1 (KB 936330).  Windows Update tells me that the installation was successful, but when I click with the left button on computer then check properties that SP1 does not appear in the description "windows edition".  I installed the update several times and get the same results.  Windows updates always tells me to install the same update (SP1) and when I look through the history it States successfully 4 times.  When I look at control panel-programs-uninstall a program - and discovers a part of the update uninstall, update SP1 is not listed.   I missed something?  Help, please.
  • Problems of performance due to Firewall on Windows 7
    So I did a little one of research related to my problem and I could not find anything that describes directly and that solved my problem, so I decided to make my own question in the hope of a response.
    To put it simply, my computer works very well even though it's about 4 years, with processor i3 and windows 7.
    I recently turned off my windows firewall and I noticed that, as a result, my computer runs one * of a lot slower. Internet browsers take ages to load, customer game take forever to start up, some of it real-world applications such as windows media player has stopped working properly and worse yet - I can't turn on my firewall.
    When I go into control panel - Windows Firewall - security, it arrives with just loading icon and will not actually go into the firewall options. There for several hours in the hope that it will only charge in, but he just finally towards the top with the Windows Firewall does not. This happened once before and after a long period of time, about a month, I was able to load in for some reason any and was able to re - turn my firewall. I have Avast Antivirus my Antivirus application.
    I disabled my firewall is because I read that I might have to do to install Google Chrome if it does not work by conventional means, as I had trouble downloading it. But by disabling the firewall did not help and didn't just my computer. Does anyone know why this might be happening?
    First thing I would check is Avast.  He has no doubt his own firewall and when it installs it can close the Windows Firewall.
    Try to remove Avast.  Then see if the problem goes away.
    I worked on client computers for years.   I discovered many years ago that 'security' systems that are a set of applications that include antivirus do diagnose difficult problems because they see the diagnosis as a threat.  So my rule is that I will not work on a computer with installed until I remove.
    I recommend only for pure antivirus programs.  There are several available on the market.
    Another rule: NEVER have more than one installed security solution.  They come into conflict with one another.  You have other protection software installed?
    Another suggestion: Run System File Checker
    1. Beginning
    2. All programs
    3. Various
    4. Right-click on command prompt and choose Run as administrator
    5. In the box, type sfc/scannow
    Hello
    I suggest you try to reboot the PC once and check if it helps.
    We will follow these methods and check if it helps:
    Method 1:
    You can try to clean boot in order to check whether a third-party software is causing a problem.
