  You have apparent dbx file corruption.

  Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.

  Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

  In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

  With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them.  New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.

  After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

  Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

  General precautions for Outlook Express:

  Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

  I can't reproduce this. The layer as you try to duplicate a smart object and there a displacement map? Looks like you might need to reset your preferences.

  I installed ODC without error. Then I config and I got stuck when you select a database to connect.
  
  1. in Windows 7, the provider, Oracle OLE DB (which makes the connection with an Oracle DB) does not show. In XP, it is there and works well.
  2. so I installed the provider (a file that I have managed to find, it is 2005 and creates a House of 10 g DB) in compatibility mode and no errors have been to see the.

• Lightroom for Mac v5. Olympus Stylus 1. ORF for new files appearing does not in Lightroom & old. Files of the ORF in gray.

  Lightroom for Mac v5.  I recently transferred my photos from a disc to another larger disk.  Since then, using the same catalog, I found the new location and all files seem to be OK, with the exception of my Olympus Stylus 1. ORF files.

  Have several new records of Nikon NEF files as well as files of the ORF.  Files Nikon encountered no problem, but not the Olympus.  I have updates.  I tried to sync several times, but no luck.

  I know that my Olympus is supported because he has worked since 2014.  The older files always contain the FRO files, but non of them are visible in Lightroom, they are just greyed out.  Any suggestions?

  Files already imported into LR will be greyed out if you try to import them, once again.  To confirm that this is the issue, temporarily uncheck don't Import suspected duplicates to the right of the Import Panel and see if the pictures become active.  If so, then they are duplicates of photos already in the catalog also.  Since you moved just your photos to a new location perhaps some left me another place that is not obvious.  You should be able to do a text search in the filter bar (use------mentioned) in the library for the file name of the missing photos to find where LR always think that they are in your catalog.

  DO NOT IMPORT THEM AGAIN with don't Import suspected duplicates off.  The way to fix things is to reactivate the import is not suspected duplicates, cancel import, find photos in your catalog by using a search text, right-click on it and choose locate missing photos and click on to the new location.

  You must either buy an upgrade to the current version of Lightroom (version 5.7.1); or you must use the FREE Adobe DNG Converter 8.7 version to convert DNG and then the DNG photos can be imported into LR 4.4.

• Photo Viewer shows photos directly in spite of, including files with Irfanview

  I associate the pictures files including jpg, with Irfanview, but when I connect my camera to my computer and open a file directly, Windows Photo Viewer displays the image instead. Despite the fact the Irfanview icon will appear in the directory for all jpg images, these files are taken hostage by the Windows Photo Viewer. My default viewer works with files on my computer of the disks. This only happens when I connect my camera. How can I stop this program quite useless and buggy of misappropriation of my file associations?

  I also had Photo Viewer 'diversion' Irfanview in Windows 8. No matter what I did, JPEG and TIFF files, but in the 'open with' associated with IrfanView, kept opening of photo viewer.

  After trying everything else, found a safe and definitive solution.

  1. start Regedit

  2 go to the ROOT of HKEY_CLASSES

  3. go to the file association that does not correctly (for example, .jpg or .tif)

  4. just rename while it becames disabled: for example to rename «.jpg' as «.jpx»

  Return to your Windows Explorer or any other file manager, make a right click on a JPG or TIF file, open with and associate with IrfanView (or any other program). THIS TIME Windows will automatically register a new .jpg or .tif extension and IrfanView open files when double-clicked.

  I am new to Adobe products, but like them a LOT.

  However, I have a problem.

  I have a picture that I dealt in Fireworks CS4: I added a vector Auto mask (gradient to transparency).

  I am now trying to export this picture so transparency is maintained but not luck. I tried gif Adaptive transparency index or transparency alpha without good result.

  When I add to Dreamweaver CS3 (using the < Img > tag) my photo, it has instead a white finish (where transparency should by).

  I wonder that if someone can point me in the right direction - any idea is appreciated.

  PZ is correct, png is the best option, but you should be forwarned that a .png format maintains 'alpha/transparency' to a bit of a cost: it is usually a MUCH larger file in download size. You assign attributes in Fireworks, experiment a bit and set the 'slice' that you want and check the differences in the size of output file to compare the difference between .gif, .jpg, and .png. If it is a single image, and small enough, I would not be too concerned, but consider the time of collective download of ALL your images and data that you create your page - it is possible to integrate your background color of your image, it would likey be a better choice to choose .jpg or .gif format, if the time to download on your page is a concern. In addition, lowest for .png file size is reduced, but will usually create a white border around the silhouette - high will make a large transparent image (including the edges soft and melted), but will generate a file size that is much more important to choose wisely as you design your page...

  Sorry for the long delay before responding. Unfortunately, there is a bug where forum e-mail notifications stop working from time to time.

  This line shows the problem:

  Caused by: java.io.IOException: could not obtain lock for E:\data\database/je.info

  je.info.N files contain monitoring logging. I use java.util.logging for this. The N at the end of the file name is assigned by java.util.logging and it runs from 0 to 9. What can happen is that you ran the names of the log files, or maybe the file is not closed properly (sounds like you're on Windows). Try to move all the files in je.info. * the environment directory and then open again the environment.

  Check your credentials on your email account and the servers used to send emails. Then to add on behalf of Lightroom

  

  Give it a name and choose a provider. There is one category "Other" to allow you to connect any messaging service. This requires more information to fill in. Once you enter info click Validate. If you have all correct than then the green light appears next to your entered email address and you should be able to send the mail from this account via Lightroom

  

  If you still have a problem, it could be a plugin problem. For example, LR Mogrify has a problem with certain file types and will cause the enamel to fail. If you have other plugins installed try to disable them before you send an email to see if that is the question.

• A problem when opening libraries merging

  I'm trying to merge two libraries Aperture 3.6 to prepare them for migration into Photos for Mac.

  The merge/add prompt does not appear, and no images are merged in the first library.

  I tried to force the merge/Add guest to appear by importing a photo duplicate, but that did not help.

  I also tried already to repair and rebuild the two libraries.

  The merger still does not work.

  What to try next?

  You have already tried most of the known work.arounds.

  Since the repair and reconstruction has not helped,

  • Save libraries before continuing.
  • Create an empty library, the first library to merge in this empty library.
  • Create a second empty library and merge the second library in this empty library.
  • Then merge these new versions of the library.

  Added:

  Make sure that you have a lot of free space on the drive with your Aperture libraries.  Merger will need storage temporarily more than the combined size of the merged libraries.
