Problems with 15 "Alienware 4 k with 980 m.
Hi guys,.
I was wondering if anyone else out there there is one of the new laptops 15 "Alienware with the 4 k screen.
I had enough issues with external screens as well as the resolutions available for the k 4 built in display.
1.4 display k will not make any other usable resolution. This is 4 k or 1080 p.
-No. 1440 p
-No. 1600 p
2. connect a monitor k 4 HDMI results in a complete system crash. After a reboot, it hangs at startup. The only way to stop it is to remove the HDMI cable.
3. connect a monitor 1440 p works however only achievable resolution is 1080 p. I can't select 1440 p no matter what I do.
I believe that this is due to the Intel graphics / optimus configuration passes.
I tried to install the new drivers from Intel, but they will not install.
I'm perfectly up-to-date with drivers from the Alienware website.
I have a call from connected support for 1 1/2 weeks, but I don't have any progress on it at all.
Anyone has any ideas on how to get HDMI working properly and allow the other resolutions on the laptop screen 4 k?
See you soon
the cr@ppy, thing is that Intel has solved the problem 3 months ago, but DELL does not! All they need to arises some effort. I want to reopen another problem of support and leave their Indian support people spend anther couple weeks trying everything under the Sun... maybe they will send me another free article for all the delays and another cable from the free monitor: Yes, they thought I was using the wrong monitor cable, so they sent me a $30 free cable. But that cable has taken so long to get to me they sent me a Gamer free Dell mouse too. I think we all just need them on speaker and claimed their support contract lines... maybe the will get off their a$ $ and get this fixed.

Pavilion H8-1205eo: Problem with 980 Ti and UEFI
Hello! A few years ago I upgraded from the Radeon 7570 standard to use a 670 gtx graphics card in my H8-1205eo and everything went well. Recently I bought gtx 980 Ti to run the latest games at high heat. When I started the pc after installing the card, that it would not go beyond the blue HP screen and pressing ESC to enter the BIOS would show only a black screen with my characteristics listed. After reading a little online, I came to the conclusion that I need to change legacy to UEFI. I looked around a bit in the configuration menu, but wasn't able to find a way to change this in the UEFI. Should I buy a new motherboard, or I simply do not found the setting?
Peter, welcome to the forum.
You can't find UEFI because the computer is equipped with a standard BIOS. HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012. There is no way to upgrade to UEFI. The last series of video card that did not use UEFI was 640 gt.

Only intermittent problem with wifi on alienware m17x with qualcomm wireless killer
Hi, I have an alienware M17x with windows 8.1 and qualcomm wireless killer. I have a serious problem with intermittent wifi, that appears when I use programs like Skype, steam, multiplayer games, etc.
Even if the wifi is connected, the connection suddenly stops working sometimes, especially when I use the applications mentioned above. (if I try to load a Web page during this time, the page remains attached to "resolving host"). Strange thing is if I disconnect and reconnect to the wifi Internet starts working immediately. Or I can wait a few minutes and the connection is re-established automatically. This isn't a problem with the network, because I had this problem on countless wifi networks I've worked, and all my other devices work fine in the same time, that my laptop no longer works.
Additionally, this problem occurs only on wifi, if I use a connection cable, this never happens. (this is not yet a case of the wifi signal strength, as happens even when I am sitting right next to wifi router and wifi in the notification area icon is visible full signal).
In the last months, I tried various possible solutions, but none of them have solved this problem:
-Updated to 8.1 windows
-Update of the qualcomm network drivers
-Stop of various applications that I think might have been the origin of the problem
-Uninstall completely different applications
-Close all anti-virus programs
Still after all of these steps, the problem persists. It would not be a big problem, as the loss of connectivity is not permanent, but what makes multiplayer games completely unplayable on my alienware machine. :(
Just today I tried to launch AlienAutopsy test for my network card in Killer Wireless - N 1103 several times, and each time that the "transfer of data verification test" failed due to no connectivity (all other tests passed very well, only this one test failure all 6 times). I thought that it could be linked and gave me some hope that I might be able to target the cause of this unique problem. Therefore, I post here. If anyone can help me, it would be much appreciated!
+++ S.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. +++
«Go to network-> Network and Sharing Center-> change the adapter settings-> Wireless - N 1103-> properties (right click) Killer network card-> and finally UNCHECK it (the f * cking) "Qualcomm Atheros control bandwidth «»
Enjoy the rush.

(Redirected) Alienware X 51 several problems with beep
I bought my Alienware x 51 in early 2012 and had no problems with it until recently. At first he just started with screen random freezing while playing games would be so UN - gel and everything would be fine, that continued to occur for about 2 weeks and then the computer would just stop responding and I would have to manually turn off (power button). This happened 2 - 3 times and then after the last time my computer beep 2 times, I knew then meant that RAM was not detected, so I bought new RAM and installed it. He then coming a black screen that told me that I had to use my Windows 7 Home Premium, reinstall the disc and repair my system, I did and now it came to beep 5 times in succession, after I Googled it means real time clock failure, but I haven't used the built-in HDMI port I have never even used a HDMI cord on this system. These problems have exhausted just me and I'm really tired of trying to deal with it, so I thought I'd post here and see if everything has no idea as to what is happening.
Thanks in advance,
Zach.

I have problem with my hard drive on my alienware laptop mx14 r2
I have a problem with my alienware mx14 r2...
with the error... on the hard drive... which I can't get into windows 8.1...
I did a restore on it n lost all my files include restoration to factory setting...
now... my hard drive looks like can fail at any time...
I'm looking to change my hard drive... but do I need to take note of? I mean the size of the thickness of the disc or your hard drive model... as I see it a lot after State of a 7mm disc...
and for costs, install windows 8... I don't have the Disc... because it comes with the version of preinstallation. I don't have the product key... I buy a new one from the windows key...
hope someone can guide me to Thursday. Thank you very much
Windows 8 and above have info on the motherboard which will see you put Windows 8 x hard disk and if same sys op you precrash, it will authenticate it and you'll be fine. You should never buy sys op on windows 8 and especially if you put same op sys on new hard drive.

SEVERAL problems with the new X 34
So, I have been active during the overclock.net forums concerning the many problems I am having with my X 34.
Long story short, I'm back this thing to Newegg and waiting for another delivery. But I thought I'd come at least here because it has high liklihood to return to anyone who cares to Acer. I called their tech support to let them know about the issues, but when the old Indian robot for 2 years at the other end kept referring to as resolution of refresh rate, I decided that I couldn't take more.
So I took delivery of the monitor yesterday and he initially worked well... but the longer he stayed, the more problems, he has developed.
My system is one I built a year or two ago and works perfectly with my Dell 3008WFP. Video card is a brand new MSI 980 Ti Lightning. Operating system is Windows 10 x 64. Is a Corsair 750W POWER supply. 16 GB of DDR3 RAM.
I even made a COMPLETELY new install of Windows 10 on this computer to try to resolve these problems. Did not work. I have disconnected/reconnected everything inside my computer, including RAM and GPU. Did not work.
And Yes, G-sync is enabled in the NVCP. And Yes, I manually set the refresh rate in the NVCP in correlation with the manual settings on the monitor.
Problem no. 1: Menu recording does not settings
-Don't know what the problem is here. But for about 3 hours last night, my monitor would not save settings for serger refresh rate. I would go on the menu... allow the serger... Set it to 100 Hz... Select "Apply and restart. Then (here's the interesting thing I think in hindsight), the screen would flash many colors several times and restart. I assumed that flashing color was normal... but it was never the Predator Logo when it has been reset. The office is finally pointing upwards and I could choose 100 Hz in my NVCP... but when you returned from the settings menu, Overclock was Off back with the default refresh rate. I have nothing would fix it with the reset of the monitor and unplug. Later... I have unplugeed the monitor for 30 minutes and when I plugged it back in, it would save my overclock settings now. It is interesting, but now, when I selected "Apply and reset", he would show the Predator logo when restarting... this logo did not appear before.
Problem #2: Flashing screen
-See a video of this question HERE
-This developed before my eyes. After the initial installation of the monitor, it worked fine. Without no flicker, no problems. But as I was sitting at the dinner table last night, I started to see the monitor flashing intermittently in the other room. I look at the screen, he flickered about 4 or 5 times per minute. For the next hour, he progressed to 30 - 40 times per minute. And subsequently developed in constant blinking. BUT this flicker only happens when I go to the Office at 100 Hz. It happens sometimes in games, but not constant.
I first thought that I had a bad cable of DP since I used one from Amazon, if I swapped it for the Acer cable included. Nope... same problem. I even inserted my previous EVGA 780 TI... but the flicker that happens too.
Then, I thought it was a driver problem, I did a clean install of the nVdiia previous drivers. Nope. Then a cleaning installed latest drivers from nVidia WHQL. Nope.
Then I saw here that you can download the drivers for the monitor directly from Acer. So, I did a guy like an unsigned driver installation. Nope.
After all this, the problem persists.
Strange thing about this one is that there was when I first got the monitor but got progressively worse since I got it.
Another weird thing is that if I have a window open, then it isn't twinkle... reduce the window, and he comes back. It's actually what made me think, it was a driver issue, but as you can see above, I think that I have ruled that that fully.
Also, if I set my refresh rate to 95Hz or below, the problem occurs. (This is actually how I currently work).
-UPDATE: the issue has actually started just after executing i1Profiler to calibrate the screen several times back to back. I can't imagine how, but could the rapid exchange of multiple colors full screen damaged electronics somehow? Or is it just a weird coincidence?
-UPDATED #2: it was suggested that ADC can cause the problem as it caused problems with the previous Acer monitors. So I completely deleted i1Profiler and reset my default .icc profile. I also think that I figured out how to do a monitor factory reset - if you hold the buttons first and fifth, restarting the screen and all the default settings. in any case, does too and the blinking persists...
#3 problem: Backlight horrible bleeding
I have to type anything here? Leave some pictures to speak for themselves...
Trouble #4: Parts of the screen does not not on
It has been described elsewhere, so I won't detail it here. But yes, I have the same problem. Here is a representative of my monitor picture when the issue arose.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed, although I can't say I'm surprised. I mean, we deal with Acer here guys... Not exactly known for the high-end products. You can put the red lipstick on a pig...
So is there more any idea or suggestion out there?
Until then... I'll wait for my new X 34 excerpt here from Newegg to see if I won the lottery of Acer he...

There is no beep, and after 3-5 minutes it stops and starts up followed of a continuous beep. I was told that it is perhaps my mother at the origin of this problem. Someone please help.

Upgrades would result in a new generation of complete system with different CPU, motherboard and memory. AMD CPU are not suitable for editing. You need a 4-core Intel i7 with HT or better, and so a new card mother and new RAM. With your GTX 980, you'd need a 8-core i7-5960 X, 64 GB of RAM, and a very fast SSD configuration to get things in balance.

PROBLEMS WITH CS5.5.1
Hello
I'm busy with a shot on a Sony EX1R HQ 1080 50I HD project and when I try to cut a clip on the timeline (make drag shorter or extend a few times) the hangs of the machine and I need to restart Pr to continue working.
980 X OC to 4.0

concert of 600 rpm 10 000 OS
7 x 1 tb F3 raid 0 on an Intel RS2BL080 controller
GTX 480
Win 7 64 ultimate
Black Magic Ultra studio Pro USB3
I re installed CS5.5 and everything is OK, but as soon as I udate to 5.5.1 I have the same problems. I also have problems with the Referance value Vect/YC Wave/RGB Parade monitor, when I make changes using RGB curves or fast color corrector REF monitors do not update.
I did try a preset for Adobe and have the same problems.
any suggestions?
Thank you
Darren
Darren,
The BMD UltraStudio is installed on the laptop, as well? If this is not the case, this could be the culprit. I know you said that you used a preset for Adobe and it has always occurred on the workstation, but have you tried to uninstall the drivers completely?

Problems with mail after switching to macOS Sierra
Hey all
After having recently upgraded to macOS Sierra, I am unable to read my mail.
I get the following error every time I check on "Get Mail".
There may be a problem with the mail server or the network. Check the account settings "*" or try again.
The server returned the error: Mail could not connect to the server 'pop1.tribcsp.com' using SSL on the default ports. Verify that this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct.
What does this error message mean and how can I solve this problem.
Thank you
Hi Michael,
I see your message that you get an error in the mail indicating that there is a problem with the mail server or the network. To help get this problem resolved, I suggest that you follow the steps below:
If mail refers to a problem with the mail server, or the network
Mail will say that it is impossible to connect due to a problem with the mail server or the network. For example, the message may refer to a connection that has expired, or too many simultaneous connections:
If you are connected to the Internet, but the connection has expired, your email provider might be affected by a discontinuance of service. Contact them or see their status Web page to ensure that their e-mail service is online. Examples of status pages:
- iCloud mail status
- Gmail status
- Status of Yahoo mail
- Status of the AOL mail
- Status of Outlook e-mail
If the message indicates the number of simultaneous connections, too many of your devices is check your e-mail account at the same time. Quit Mail on one or more of your other devices.
If you are still unable to send or receive e-mails
- Make sure that you have installed latest version of the Mac software updates, especially if the problem occurred immediately after the installation of a previous update.
- In OS X El Capitan or later version, you can see a status icon and the short error message in the upper right of the Mail window, under the search box. The message may indicate 'Network offline' or 'Connection failed', for example. Click the message to see more details on the issue.
- Check your connection to the Mail connection doctor. It might be able to say more on the issue.
If you cannot send or receive e-mail on your Mac.
Take care.

iMac 27 "mid-2011 - Intermittent problem with CPU fan running at full speed and sleep mode.
Hello!
My iMac 27 "has an intermittent problem with the CPU fan runs at full speed. Sometimes it happens at the time when I start it, sometimes only in my session, and sometimes only after a certain time. So does seem to be a problem of "heating".
Second issue is with the mode 'sleep'. It may occur also at any time, at the start of the iMac, session, or after a certain time. But once he starts to go in mode 'sleep', when I wake up, it goes right back in mode after a few seconds and that it will continue indefinitely until I restart the computer.
What could be?
Please help me!

Are you only had this problem when using the app clash of Clans, or does it happen in all applications? I recommend to start by following the steps described in this article:
