Problems with Mozilla Firefox

Recently a box appeared called "Firefox" with the message "Could not access XPCOM" on my Vista laptop.  When trying to delete Mozilla Firefox on the control panel "uninstall programs" nothing happened when you click on the subject, although a box seems to do that. How can I get rid of the XPCOM.

[Original title: Mozilla Firefox]

Try to start your system in safe mode by rebooting your system key and press F8 repeatedly, then select Safe mode and then try to uninstall it from there.
