Probook 6460 b does support sata 6 GB/s?

My SATA III SSD only works with SATA II (3 GB/s) transfer rate in any SATA port (hand, upgrade Bay, E-SATA). Is this a limitation set by HP? Or is there something I can do from the setting in the BIOS (I can't find any more)? Update BIOS F.25

This topic/request was not answered to the last post and I have no confirmation. Can anyone help?

    Hello

As far as I know, that it supports SATA II (3 Gb/s)
But you could install some software like diagnostic tools * SiSoft SANDRA *.
This would allow all of the details about the hardware configuration.

Could you confirm that its SATA II?

[Chipset Mobile Intel Express HM65 | http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/chipsets/value-chipsets/mobile-chipset-hm65.html] supports Sata 6 Gb/s speed, but what will be the actual speed if I run the SSD speed test?

    Thanks for the replies!

    Hello

    > but what is the actual speed if I run the SSD speed test?
I think it depends on the SSD drive.

I have read some tests on the Intel SSD 520 series and it seems that the performance of the SSD drives benchmark was of about 480 Mb/s

  • Satellite M70-340 does support SATA 300 MB/s?

I want to replace the original with MK1237GSX MK6034GSX hard drive. The difference is 150 and 300 MB/s transfer rate. will be mk1237gsx works with my M70?

    Hello

The Satellite M70-340 was delivered with the 60 GB SATA 5400 RPM HARD drive.
I don't think that the speed of the HARD drive could have a bad influence on the compatibility of the HARD drive.

You must only make sure that the size of the HARD drive and the interface are supported!

  • Qosmio X 500 does support SATA III controller?

    Hello

I think of one of my drives hard X500s replace with an SSD.
So now I'm wondering whether to buy a SATA II (3 Gbps) or SATA III (6 Gbps).

I understand that both standards will work on any SATA controller, but it the X 500 has a controller SATA III, so that I can take advantage of the extra speed of SSD? Because if not, I'd settle for the SATA II slower (and cheaper).
    Thanks in advance,

Why you n t install a material such as Everest Home Edition or Sandra Software diagnostic tool.
These tools are freeware and would provide details of s for laptop hardware.

I also googled a bit for details, but I found just that mobile information supports the SATA interface. So it s mentioned not really what SATA controller is

  • Presario C304TU does support SATA HD & Win7?

    Presario C300
    P / N:RE027PA #AB0
    Service C304TU

This laptop has been owned by an old lady who used it rarely.
    I bought a second hand.

    It's like a new product.

A few things I would change:
    1. its original HD is a 60 G IDE.  The Commission supports a 120G SATA HD?   "SATA Native Support" States in the BIOS.
    2. its origin OS is XP.   And it supports Vista, says in its specifications.   Support Win7?

    Thank you.
    Vickyal

Windows 7 Starter is not recommended. Put in 32-bit Windows 7 with SP1 as suggested Serginho. Starter has no Aero desktop and is devoid of many features. Windows 7 will work actually quite well on the 2 GB of RAM. Better than Vista did.

  • Satellite A200 - 1 GB does support SATA 300 HARD drive?

I want to spend my Sat A200 - 1 GB hard disk with a 7200 RPM one... but they are all SATA300 models.
Is this speed mode supported by the bios, motherboard and sata controller of this laptop?

I just want to be sure that the hard drive works at its maximum speed capability and the sata and the mobo will not be a bottleneck...

If Yes, the sata controller driver whichsis?... I want this wake in my own vista installation disc.

    Hello!

Yes, you can use a disk with SATA300 mode but it only works in normal mode SATA no more at maximum speed. The Satellite A200 supports only SATA 1.0 mode (SATA150).

You can use a HARD drive with 7200 RPM, this isn't a problem.

What HARD drive capacities are supported, that you can see in the user manual. Look in Chapter 1.

The SATA driver is in the Intel Storage Manager package.

    Good bye

Then this model does support SATA III? I am interested in the hard drive WD3200BEKX.

    Hello.

You can use your laptop hard drive because it has a SATA interface and the HARD drive is 2.5 mm. Just keep in mind that the transfer speed will be limited by the bandwidth of SATA II, which is 3 Gb/s.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP ProBook 6460-b plugged blue screens when on a projector

Does anyone else have this problem?  I saw him on two different laptops now.  Both are HP ProBook 6460 b.   When the user connects the laptop to a VGA cable that is connected to a projector, blue laptop screens and restarts.

The laptop is not blue screen and reboot when it is connected to the monitors, but usually users use a docking station when it is connected to a monitor or monitors.  I didn't know all the problems connected with one connected to a monitor VGA cable, but it is rare.

I tried to update the drivers, but had no luck.

I finally found a solution to this problem.  This is the driver on the HP website.  I downloaded the driver from the Intel Web site and the problem was solved.  It's strange because our HP representative said that they could not reproduce the problem.

The only problem is HP Hotkey support no longer works with display settings, which means that fn + F4 bring up display options.

On the good side of things, it detects just a projector when it is plugged in and shows it.  If you need to change the settings, you must use the system tray Intel display options

  • Satellite R830 - support Sata III for SSD drives

    Hello

Why Toshiba Satellite R830 does not support Sata III, although the plug to motherboard. indicate that it is possible?

So you can not significantly increase the performance of your laptop by replacing the HARD drive with disk SSD Sata III. Is it possible to activate the Sata III (6 Mbps) on R830?

All the system settings? It's also kind of bios update request necessary support SSD and SATA III...

    Any help is appreciated! :)

    > It shows that SATA III is supported, but when you install the SSD SATA III disc it does not work with higher speeds to ~ 250 MB/s (cases Crucial M4).

From my own experience many SSD readers need a updated firmware that is provided by the manufacturers of SSD drives.

But readers in the R830 SSD seems to support these specifications:
    Host interface: Max 300 MB/s
Reading data supported: Max 250 MB/s
Writing data supported: Max 160 MB/s

By the way: the R830 supports a Mobile Intel HM65 Express Chipset and the chipset supports the storage interface high speed supports up to 6 Gb/s transfer rate for improved data access. Provides up to 6 SATA ports, 3 Gb/s with up to 2 ports support 6 Gb/s transfer rate.

  • By Satellite L655-1KE supports SATA III?

    Hello world

Sorry, but I write quickly because I repair this laptop from a friend (and need to do this before Christmas!).

The problem is that the HARD disk is dead.
So I need to buy a new one, but I have a question: does this computer motherboard support SATA III or only SATA II? The original HARD drive is SATA II.

As the HARD drive is dead, I am not able to install a tool like Everest to get information.

So, can anyone give me the answer help or is there a tool I can start and who could give me details on the SATA III supported?

Another idea, is it a tool capable of giving that there are details from the start in mod console with a Windows CD?

    Thank you in advance!

    Gourbish.

Yes, you might be right; SATA III isn't taken care of.
I had installed a compatible drive SSD SATA III but I could get max / 3 Gb/s, which means SATA II

However, the SATA is backward compatible, so you should be able to use a SATA III HARD disk but with limited performance.

  • HP probook 6460 b: hp probook 6460 b and 3630qm?

so I 3630qm I put it in and it did not work. and I start to wonder why.

is the laptop have support for this processor?

and otherwise. What is the best processor I can use?

    or a bios update?

    The maintenance manual:

    6460 b manual repair

says he uses processors intel generation 2d and 6460 b does not support any quad cores. Thus, the high-end for you is an i7 - 2640 m.
