  Unfortunately, business machines such as Probooks or EliteBook have more strict security consumption patterns - they do not produce "stop codes", the password cannot be derived from the serial number and the code is stored in a nonvolatile memory to remove the RTC cell does not reset the password in this case.

  If you Contact HP Business support they should be able to send you a file custom SMC.bin that you can use to reset the password at startup.

  Here I have a probook 6560 b with a built-in numeric keypad.

  The integrated numeric keypad works fine, but the keyboard is integrated digital keypad mode (number on the letter keys) and im not able the desable it. I tried the fn + num lock key and it doesn't work.

  Reinstall the drivers doesn't fix it.

  I don't have the problem when the probook is a docking station.

  Anyone has an idea about this problem?

  I was going to say faulty keyboard, but you say that this does not happen on the dock. It's weird.
  Points to the software however, try completely uninstalling the shortcut keyboard HP software. See what happens when uninstalled, and then reinstall it (download a new copy).
  Check in the bios, also could be difficult to say but to see if it does the same there. (A way to check could do to set the time that you can replace the numbers)

  Hello Experts,

  Try to improve the behavior of my laptop (Probook 6560 b), I tried to install an SSD instead of the CD unit, using a Caddy.

  Everything is good, but the SSD is not installed because it was not validated in the Bios.

  As the admin account is not applied to the initial installation of the system, I have no password to be retrieved. Also fingerprint or stupid questions have not been activated.

  I use the BIOS pass three times with no error code.

  Resetting CMOS didn't help, either.

  So, if you can please help me with the clear BIOS that can help me to restart the admin check, which will be a great help.

  Insert a clean USB flash drive.

  Then run USB Image tool.

  Choose the flash drive, and then click RESTORE.

  Remove the flash drive after the restore.

  Insert a locked portable flash drive and boot. "" If the HARD drive is installed, remove before starting.

  At C:\OUTPUT, type CD...   "And then press ENTER.

  HPBR of type "and then press ENTER.

  First thing is to save your settings.

  Select 3 # re-program.

  Press "S" to save the system information.

  Type HPBR and press ENTER.

  Given that your model is not listed, select "SHOTGUN".

  After the reboot, repeat 'SHOTGUN' a second time.

  1. it is indicated on the product specifications L500-1kk expected autonomy is about 03:20 Hrs use mobile brand! However, I was using my laptop for almost a year now, the maximum battery time I get is 02:15 Hrs, whenever I load my mobile suit, the battery still bar program shows me this maximum time remaining! I use the default power settings!

  2. most intriguing, is that my sister used another laptop, its battery is approximately the same capacity that mine, around 43200 mWh, us both using Windows 7 Ultimate (she 32bits, I, 64-bit version), but its battery time is at least 4.5 Hrs. Why is this, and how I would maximize my battery time!

  3. Finally, her laptop is new (4 months, yet battery pro program shows that the battery wear rate is 7%, my laptop is almost a year and it shows a wear rate of 1.3%, I use mostly my laptop while the power is plugged in, unplugged rarely!) Is their an explanation to the different rates of wear?

  To be honest, I think a battery about 02:15 hours is good and I think that everything is ok with your laptop. My new Satellite A500 I also only 2.5 hours if I running on battery, sometimes less than 2 hours or less. That s always according to the applications you run.

  Well, it s the same you compare two cars with the same ch from different manufactures a car's fuel consumption higher than the other car, even it have the same hp. Why? Well, the different manufacturers using different parts: other tires, gears, weight, dray of air, etc.

  You can compare two identical notebooks or cars from the manufacturing even to find a problem, but * not * from different manufacturers. ;)

  I have a U400 and I also use it with the battery.

  I use it for surfing the internet and writing
  Execution of the laptop with battery I always set the brightness to the minimum, and in this case I can use it for about two hours.

  If the screen light is set to max and the HARD drive and the CD/DVD drive works then your battery time will likely decline at a time.

  So, as you can see the battery time work depands defintialy on the use of the laptop...

  I had a Satellite A200 on Vista and XP, and I'm NOT able to see the remaining estimated battery time. I see only the percentage left.

  For example, I use my laptop unplugged for over an hour (my comments) and I can only see the percentage left (45%), but I can't see the time remaining.

  Is - this natural? What can I do to see the time remaining?

  Maybe, but unless you see a Bluetooth device in alphabetical order in the Device Manager, it doesn't have Bluetooth.

  You can also check the BIOS where it needs to be included if it is present.

  I saw a lot of people have the same problem with HP, but I can't find the driver for my machine.

  My machine is HP ProBook 6560 b runing Windows 7 32 bit.

  In my device manager I have an unknown device and when to go in properties I found the following:

  Genral - Port_ #0001.Hub_ #0003 & the drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

  Current BIOS: F.61 Rev.A

  I've looked everywhere and the WLAN module should be supported, why it doesn't work?
