  • Firefox will not display on the screen even though with Process Explorer, I see active Firefox.exe but no CPU usage

I use Firefox as default browser v10.0.2 on Dell XPS8300 Intel Core i5 and Windows 7 Ultimate and Compaq Presario CQ57 IO IO Intel Core i3 and Windows 7 Home. More frequently on the (approximately 90% of attempts) that Dell (50% of attempts) Firefox will not display on the screen when I click the icon. Cannot display other programs when it happens. I expressly say display because I believe that Firefox has started. To work around the problem, I installed Process Explorer on both machines and launch this program first, then click on the Firefox icon. When the problem occurs I see process Firefox.exe in the list of processes; some CPU consumed but, then, no CPU activity. If I click on the Firefox icon, yet another process opens in the list of processes, but with the same answer - some consumed CPU and then no CPU activity. If I have 2 processes running and kill the process from the 1st, the 2nd poster and then everything is normal. If I do not open it treat a 2nd, but kill the 1st process then click the Firefox Firefox is displayed and all then is normal. This problem has occurred since the original on the two new machines installation. I have updated the video drivers on both computers.

OK, let's see if we can solve this problem and make it work for you!

First of all, if you start Firefox in safe mode (restart your computer first, then when you open Firefox, hold down the SHIFT key) it starts more reliable? This is usually caused by a defective module. If this does not help, then restart Firefox, go to the Firefox, then add-ons button and disable your extensions one by one until you find the troublemaker.

Also, try to update to Firefox 11, it has several bug fixes that might make life easier here.

Just as a few troubleshooting steps base to ensure that we have all the bases covered,
Run all Windows updates, install all required service packs, etc.

Update all of your plugins (Flash, Java, etc.): http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/.

Download and install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full scan. http://www.malwarebytes.org/. This check allows that there is no virus on your computer, causing problems. You can uninstall this program after having cleaned the infections.

As the title, how can I use process Explorer to check PID 1176 60% CPU svchost.exe? Help, please.

The task manager has PID 1176-60% CPU, all the time, which I believe is the reason my pc works so slow.

How to use Exp Pro to know what is actually using 60% of my cpu, via svchost 1176 PID?

I found the Exp Pro Geek guide - but are struggling to pass for a non geek.

    Using Vista 32 bit.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Process explore uses more resources than svchost, it works automatically using a lot of memory. Anyway, the open task

Mgr, locate the svchost, R.click on the location of TI/properties/open a file. You will find that it is a service of microsoft.

The drain is usually in BITS, try to go to run, or cmd, type: services.msc in msc, locate BITS, R.click on it, open,

Set to manual start, exit msc, restart the pc.

  • Second Process Explorer that run under the NEST 6200; as svchost.exe that runs under the NEST 6200

I found, when the use of Process Explorer, that a second version of the Explorer P. works too, but its icon (left) is a standard and not the true icon of the Explorer P..  This second version ran under the NEST 6200, which I believe has to do with a modem.  I have a modem on my Vista machine, but it is not used (no telephone connection).  I went into the folder where P. Explorer runs and found procexp.chm, and when I tried to open the file, Windows said it was a program.  To disable, I renamed it, and now I'm not running.  Also, I found of svchost.exe running under the NEST 6200, but with no description, co. name, path or command line.  I have known big bed (over 500 MB), using svchost.exe, from time to time.  I think having a virus.  Can someone tell me what I have and then tell me how to remove from my machine?  (Also, I've known a slow machine, usually after starts.)

I have two versions of svchost.exe on my machine.  Tests for a virus showed neither to be a virus.  I tried to delete the version that is not in the c:\windows\system32 folder but am unable to do so.  Can someone tell me how to delete such a file, or to replace it with the correct version?

  • Why vista start 2 copies of process explorer?

I have 2 XP machines and a dual-boot laptop (Vista/Windows7).  I had Windows Process Explorer in the start menu of all systems for several years.  All of a sudden, the Vista system and only she, has begun to run two copies of process Explorer when it starts

If I use msconfig to examine the startup items, it is listed twice.  Same thing if I use Autoruns.  If I uncheck or the other duplicates in one of these processes, the entry in the start menu disappears and Process Explorer does not start.  If I go back to msconfig and check either of the references listed for Process Explorer, an entry appears in the menu Statup, but two copies running at the next startup.

If I use delete to delete one of the lines and leave the other activated, when I restart the boot menu is empty again and Process Explorer does not run.  Single line appears in process Explorer and it is not checked.

If I check, the whole process starts again, 2 copies running at startup and two lines appear in msconfig or Autoruns.  Maddening!

I looked in the registry to see if there is something strange, but can find no reference to the Explorer process in one of the places that affect the startup (that I know).  I not even looked in the autoexec.bat and config.sys files.  Nothing there.  I have no idea what is happening or where to look next.

    Can anyone help with this?

I am sorry to say that I still have no answer.  I have "chickened out" and for now is considering a one-time glitch.

I created two new administrative accounts and, probably, of note, nor displayed bad behavior to start Process Explorer twice.  However, when I started to try to transfer the files from the old user account to one of the new States, using this new as long as the process of control, I got so deep protection problems that I dropped.  It was as bad as peeling an onion and almost tearfull.

I had a complete disk image of the Vista disc taken the backup on January 15.  The chance that it was before the problem started (I didn't know exactly when he started) I rebooted it.  Everything was fine except for some Microsoft updates that have occurred since then.

Of course, it was missing some Favorites (I should have copied somewhere and then restored) and my recent documents list was obsolete, but I'm happy to be back to a single copy of Process Explorer.

I'm sorry I can't nail the problem, but I got to the point that just fixing it was more important to know what caused it (unless it happens again!).

Thank you to those who responded and those who have thought about it with me.

  • Where can I find a linke for the the help file for process Explorer 14.01?

Where can I find a linke for the the help file for process Explorer 14.01?  Thank you.

If you have problems to access using Process Explorer, it's probably because you do not it unlock after the download.

The best way to do this is to go to the folder where the zip file downloaded, right click the zip file and select Properties. Then click on the button unlock and apply them. Go to the excerpt from Process Explorer.

  • Autoruns is blocking the main process Explorer under Windows 7 64-bit

The latest version of Autoruns (13,40) blocks the main process explore on my 64-bit Windows, when I run it (it shows the entries normally thereafter). It doesn't always, but very often. Usually it's on his first run in a 'session' (i.e. it won't eventually happen if I try to run it more later on; but after a reboot, there is a high probability of it crashing explorer.exe again).

No work around to do this, other than to wait for the update? It never happened with earlier versions of Autoruns (which is also a wonderful tool).

    Hey Anubis,

I apologize for the misunderstanding of the question. In this case, I suggest you to check if the same problem occurs on a different user account. This is to check if the problem is caused due to problems specific to the user.

If the problem is specific to users, then I suggest you to refer to the following article from Microsoft Help to fix the damaged user account.

    Hi auggy, Andy,.

Andy, I checked and iCloud, Control Panel has not been installed on its terminal, but thank you very much for suggesting it :)

auggi, when I got back on my colleague's PC, I thought I would test to see if the feature didn't always before considering saving data dumps etc, and it worked fine!

I left it overnight with instructions for the lady who uses the PC to test this morning and see if it's all workers, and it is still, it seems that the fix does not immediately solve the problem of browser, but there later - maybe after a second reboot or something... very strange!

In all case, this matter can now be considered closed, so all that remains for me to say thank you very much for your help, you are amazing :)

I accidentally deleted the process explore on my computer so now I have no task bar and no icons on my desktop. How can I fix?

You cannot remove a process, you probably just stopped it.  In the Task Manager (where you have completed the process), click file | New task and in the dialog box that opens type "Explorer" and press ENTER.

    Hello

It looks like you can get a false alarm:

    Beware of fake virus alerts

    Step 1:

I suggest you remove the antivirus which showed these errors.

    You can use the fixit:

Solve problems with programs that cannot be installed or uninstalled

    Step 2:

Then try to run either the scanner security, antivirus/antimalware software to trust you.

  • process Explorer.exe starts is not on the invited sessions clone machine or related

I'm running into a problem where the guest PC that I use as my main image is starts the process explorer.exe at startup.

It's an XP image. I came across this issue before when I deployed the linked clones, I connect to the pool, open a session and I would just get the wallpaper, and that's it. I would then have to manually start the explorer.exe process to see my icons, start menu, taskbar, etc...

I thought that my image was corrupted, so I just create a new one, but I came across the same issue just after that I installed the VMview agent on the system.

Everyone knows about this problem? If so how do solve you this problem?

3.1.2 was released.  Has anyone tried it yet?  I plan to try today.

  • Class LVOOP process data Bug?

    Hello world

Not sure if it is a real bug, but I have seen that he sent anywhere.  I created a really basic LV class with members of private data and some data access screws when I renamed one of my data members then name didn't and don't get spread no screws.  I tried record, closing, reopening, changing and assistance to apply the changes before the record, everything I could think of, but a bundle or unbundle by name in any new or existing VI would show the old name of the data member.  I ended up deleting the data and inserting a new one with the new name, and who finally spread the change screw.  I'm in LV8.5 under XP, and they were all inside structures case (error checking), so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

What is an existing bug?  I'm sure I'll run into it again, and I prefer being able to rename my data instead of having to remove it, add a new data point and reorganize everything.
