processor ugrades

I have a G60-213EM laptop with a celeron dual core cpu T1600 and wanted to upgrade to a better... someone knows who will work CPU.

the cpu I was considering is a T7200 2.0 ghz, 4 mb cache 667fsb I had read that its an upgrade which is ideal for merom cpu celeron T1600, but I don't want to spend a few hundred quid on a processor that is not compatible...

any help would be greatly appreciated...

Hello

I had some experiences with the evolution of processors.

This post may be little complictated...

You now have the GL40 (documentation here) chipset and Intel Celeron processor T1600 (documentation here).

The best processor for upgrade should be Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile Processor T5850 (documentation here). Why? Because it has the same settings as your have. So there will be no problems with the time.

Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 processor Mobile (documentation here). Check the VID. So I think with this temp model could switch to high for you. I have

You can also toilet, then they can be the problem with the Bios. Then he won't let this processor model to work.

I checked this and I can say then it will work.

Example CQ60-218TU who have the same Bios supports Core 2 Duo processors.

I suggest to upgrade the Bios before installing this new part.

Update Your Bios to the latest version from here. You can do that when you have am still Vista installed.

How to do?

You plug the adapter to the computer.

Disconnect from the internet. Turn off any antivirus and firewalls.

Start the update of the Bios. It may take some time. Do not turn off your laptop, unplug ac and don't do anything on this subject during this update is running.

I am currently using an iMac 2009 with processor clocked at 3.06 GHz. I do not play or the movie streaming.  Just internet, e-mail and documents.  I'll be unhappy with the 1.4 GHz Mac mini.

Yes. the low level is OK for your uses. However, I would like to get not less than 8 GB or memory since you cannot later pass as RAM is soldered in. That adds $100.

You should consider the Mini of intermediate level, it comes with 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HD 500 GB, and a better graphics processor for only $200 more than the basic low-Ivy Mini

  • What is the difference in processors for Macbook Air?

I currently have a 2012 13-inch Macbook Pro. Its processor is 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5.

I'm looking to get a new laptop, something more light, so I was watching the macbook air.

What is the difference between getting 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 and 2.2 GHz dual-core Intel Core i7? Other than the extra to upgrade $170. It is worth to pay that? I'm a student, so not really rolling in money.

I'll just use it for the usual, surf the web for research and social media, spotify, itunes library, large library, some photo editing, imessage. I feel that that's what most people are doing, then what is the best for the average man?

In addition, what is the significance in storage? I'm not sure what my mac pro has, but is it worth it to upgrade to the flash 512 GB PCle - based, storage or I couldn't stick with the 256 GB?

Account of your not doing much with your mac in addition to what is its main purpose, I recommend save money for a processor and possibly buy more RAM (Random Access Memory) it helps with multitasking like surfing on the web.

It also depends on the amount of memory you want. If your photos are of high quality and there are many, improved storage isn't bad.

question maybe a little stupid, I just get my first Mac, to check all of the hardware is OK with what I ordered.

  • El capitan update taking 30 mins excess and starting to install. is this just an i5 processor?

I tried to install the last update at el capitan and after the reboot, the screen goes white with just the cursor indicating for 30mins + and waited so he can continue starting.  I waited 17mins first, then tried to turn off and then turn it back on.  He did the same thing again. My machine is a model (October 2015) 27 "recent iMac running a processor i5 and 8 GB Ram

Don't know if it will make a difference, but you can download the update Combo here, Download OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Combo Update and then install. Once the installation program will restart you will get a black screen for a short time, then the Mac should start to a gray screen with the Apple logo and a progress bar, which should show an approximate count.

Make sure that your Mac has enough free space, 10GBs or more must be fine and also use disk utility

to perform a check on the disk before and after everything settles. If she needs repaired, you start in your recovery Partition and disk utility.

  • do the specs on intel processors mean in practice

I plan a new mac and want to know what specifications for processors intel mean in practice

What applications do you intend to use?

What kind of Mac you want? Desktop computer? Laptop?

Generally, the latest Intel processors work faster than the previous with the same speed in GHz.

Most of the processor cores is faster an action subject to the app (s) can use these additional cores.  Many applications can use two cores.

  • Is it possible to upgrade the processor on a 266 MHz PowerMac G3 minitour

I came across a 750 MHz on eBay G3 processor, mean't to improving a Mac PowerPC with a slower 233 MHz or G3 266 MHz processor. It is a good idea, I like my G3 minitour, but the 266 MHz really choking when you play games like the Sims high performance. I was wondering if this upgrade is a healthy option for the computer? I'm really not a lot of ins and outs of a motherboard, but if this upgrade is not a total fantasy and pretty easy to accomplish without slaughter my computer I would love to give it a go!

    Thank you

    Aidyn

The '750' is the number assigned to the PowerPC G3 processor: a PowerPC 750.  The processor speed is not 750 MHz.  A few years ago, when your beige G3 was not quite so old, there were third, faster G3 and processor G4 upgrades marketed for these models.  Even if you bump the processor speed, the speed of 66 MHz system bus will pass and you have dedicated graphics bus AGP.  All PCI video cards are installed in one of the 33 MHz PCI slots.  The offset that you are experiencing is due to a combination of hardware architecture very up-to-date of these computers in 1997/1998.  You could install a faster ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) processor upgrade card, but I don't think that you will experience results that you would hope for.  If I spend the money on a card processor used for a beige G3 in 2016, she will have to be a G4 and very expensive.  All of the money invested in upgrading to a beige G3 will exceed the current market value of the computer.  You can read old comments on these upgrades to accelerate your Mac 'area G3'.

  • MacPro dual processor mid-2010 5.1 temperature settings?

    Hello world

I recently upgraded my MacPro mid-2010 5.1 (not 2009 flashed) single 4-core processor 2.8 GHz tray with 32 GB of RAM for a tray of 12 CPU cores double with 64 GB of RAM. I removed the processor 2.93 GHz original double set came with replacing them with 2 X 5690 3.46 GHz processors.

To check the time, I encoded a video file that is large enough with hand brake.

When encoding, I noticed that the CPU ran hotter than the B - 92 - 98º C for the CPU CPU has and 71-75 ° C for B CPU.

Is it normal for CPU make it warmer than CPU B? Slow down time appear to be relatively stable, with A CPU running just above CPU B time.

Forgive my ignorance, but who's CPU has on the map (the left or the right one)?

Thanks in advance for the info!

I also noticed that the heat sinks run about 20 degrees colder than the processor cores.

  • Processor or graphics card for the best HD video in the Web?

I use a Mac Pro (early 2008) 2x3.2 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon. I bought it used from a computer store.

The graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT 512MB.

My memory is 20GB 800 MHz etc etc.

I'm on Yosemite 10.10.5, using 6.0.5 FCP (Final Cut Studio 2)

    I shoot HD 1920 x 1080.

I notice the game back in the looks really rough canvas so I used the computer for all other applications prior to use of the CPF.

It is smooth only when I use first of the PCF after the computer starts. Sometimes, when I reboot, it will be good but soon begins to become unstable again.

I'm not sure if it's because my computer is not fast enough? strong enough? Do I need a faster processor or better video card?

I guess the memory isn't the question after reading other topics. But I have not found a topic that addresses this issue.

    Advice appreciated. Thank you.

20 GB is an odd number. Your RAM should be installed in multiples of 4. 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB.  Although I do not know if what matters a lot. You have a lot of RAM, because the FCP uses only 4 GB max.

The issue could be the fact that you run FCP 6 on an unsupported operating system.  The latest OS supporting FCP 6 was 10.5. FCP 7 last supported on 10.6.8... since then updated all the BONES do not take into account legacy CPF work into account.  You are 5 OS versions past version full support, so the application does not work as well as it would on an operating system supported.

Now... you say you shoot HD 1920 x 1080... you convert when you bring it in FCP? What codec is when you cut it? And this drive it is stored on? Logged how?

I have a Version of El Capitan OSX 5 years 10.11.3, processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5computer.  It is slow and jerky.  Any suggestions?  I empty the trash. I have an external backup.

Update your software OS X v10.11.4.

Instructions here > How to upgrade OS X

If after the update is installed, you see always the same slow and jerky behavior, a Safe Mode boot removes the system caches that can help.

Upper left corner of your screen, click on the Apple  > Shut Down.

After your Mac stops, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.

As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key. You must press the SHIFT key as soon as possible once you hear the startup tone, but not before.

Release the SHIFT key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.

Once you are in Mode without failure, return to the menu Apple . In the drop-down list, click: reboot

    On Safe Mode
