• vSan on home test environment

  Hello

  Does anyone know if vSAN requires special hardware? I have 3 guests in my home test, with processors AMD FX and MSI mainborads. I understand that vSAN requires flash drives, one on each host at least, but before you buy, I want to know if vSAN requires special hardware. I don't think he does, but some comments from someone who has tested is very appreciated. Thank you!

  I guess the answer is Yes, it requires a special material commodities.  In a production environment, you should stick to the VMware HCL, who moved to prepared knots instead of individual pieces.

  For a test environment to home and want only to test the functionality, you can either fake a spinning HD SSD or nested ESXi.  Check Cormac, Duncan, and Lam for how to do this.  Thank you, Zach.

  Follow these steps

  1. on the server target

  a. Add entry in oratab

  b. create init.ora for target db copy of source

  c. If you use catalog

  connect to the RMAN catalog, you can use the double option to clone run below

  one.

  RMAN > Connect target sys /@trgt

  RMAN > Connect Catalog rman /@catalog

  b. check that the backup connects to the source and to collect information on the elements of backup that contains the backup controlfile

  c. restore the controlfile

  RMAN > set DBID = xxxxxxxx (DBID of the source db)

  RMAN > run

  {

  allocate channels ch1 type parms 'SBT_TAPE' = 'ENV = (NB_ORA_CLIENT =, NB_ORA_SERV =)';

  Restore controlfile from "/ c-DBID-xxxxxxxx-00';

  }

  Once the controlfile is restored, you can mount the db

  change the editing of the database;

  run

  {

  until ' TO_DATE (2014-SEPT-10 10:00 ', MY - DD - YYYY HH24 ') ";

  allocate channels ch1 type parms 'SBT_TAPE' = 'ENV = (NB_ORA_CLIENT =, NB_ORA_SERV =)';

  restore the database;

  recover the database;

  ALTER database open resetlogs;

  stop immediately;

  bootable media;

  nest target = / = dbname

  change the system db_name set = scope = spfile;

  stop immediately;

  Startup mount

  ALTER database open resetlogs;

  create public database link to_prod connect to the user identified by password using 'to_prod ';

  Check that to_prod is directed to your production database.

  We use oracle 11.2.0.3 and have 2 environments a production environment and test each on different servers.

  Currently, our test database has database different SID to the production one.

  DBA is eager to have the database of test with the same name of SID.

  Thoughts/concerns in this area - will be on different servers.

  We also had a similar situation, it allows to save a few hours when cloning (we do not use RMAN), but a lot of damage, it can create.

  I am new to this area of the Oracle 11.5.10 Applications and I need help with a couple of questions.
  
  We have the production system with some Applications Oracle 11.5.10, level APPS on server 32-bit Red Hat Linux 4 EA and 10.2.0.3 DB Server 64-bit Red Hat Linux 4 EA level.
  
  
  
  We get 2 new servers to test environment Applications Oracle 11.5.10 with the same versions of the operating system as the production.
  
  First test 32-bit applications.
  
  Second test 64 bit for DB level.
  
  
  
  Now we create the test environment, even as production.

  (1) what is the best way to create env even in this situation (application layer 32-bit, 64-bit database layer). I suppose that cloning using the quick clone procedure is not possible on this clear machines.

  Using DW 8, I can't have my files to be placed on the remote test server. They go directly to the remote production server. Test and production sites are on different servers. Ideally, I would like to be able to put on the test server, see the changes, and then put the files from the test server to the production server. Is it possible to switch from local to test, and then test to production?

  It is possible to switch from local to test. And from local to remote.

  If you want to test remotely, you must create a second site
  definition with the test as the local root folder.

  Sorry do you need exactly? Do you need disc recovery Toshiba or d you must have Microsoft Vista disk?

  The serial key you found at the bottom of the unit belongs to the preinstalled Windows operating system and will NOT work by using different Windows disks.

  You have two options;
  Either you buy the here Toshiba Recovery disk:
  https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

  Or you buy the original disc of Microsoft Vista and will use the drivers provided by page European driver Toshiba

  There is no other solution.

• Home Wifi connection problems

  Recently received hp slate 7 for Christmas and put in place without any problem so far.  Disconnect the wifi guard while at home and does not recover.  When you try to reconnect it can't to Authenticating and not go further, as I turned the wifi switch on the slate, tried to check the updates, power off and power on Slate and restarted our home hub with no joy.  We have other products at home using wifi and have no problem with them.  Can anyone help?

  Have you tried to tell the tablet to "Forget network" for your home router?   Go to wireless settings and press and hold on the router.  You will see a choice between Forget or change the network.

  Set up the connection again and see if things improve.

  Unfortunately, there is no support of HP recovery related to HP for your PC Product Page. This could be an oversight by HP, or it could also mean that HP stock is no longer the recovery media for your PC. They store any long recovery media for older PCs.
