Product Key__ Vista

Hello

My Vista product key has 2 or 3 numbers / letters that are dimmed. However, above the bar code there is always the number which is fullyvisible. Is it possible that I can track this number and it matches the product key?

Thank you

Ed

  • Product key Vista already in use?

I have a Compaq Presario F730 Notebook PC. I bought it two years ago. Today, when I got home I got a message on my screen that said that I needed to get my vista product key. I entered and it notified me that my key was already in use. I went to the Microsoft site and basically, he told me that I had to check my information produced by phone. I did, but they said I had a "defect in my product key." After being transferred to a technician, told me that Compaq had bought the license to put vista on my computer and it would have to be solved on end of Compaq. They me transferred to Compaq and I waited an hour before I hung up. Is there anyway to get the support of a technician on the forums? Everyone fell on this problem, if so, how you resolve?

I usually more luck on the cat... have you tried? http://welcome.HP.com/country/us/en/contact/chat_1.html (for US), I'm not sure it would work as well as the phone in your situation, though, as you will need to speak to a representative at a higher level. You might be better just try calling at different times of the day to find one of the periods of time during the day when the queue of the call is low.

What is curious, if you notice at the beginning of the report's true State.

In any case, go to the start menu and type slui 4. Make sure you do it on an administrator account.

In the dialog box that opens, select your location and call the Microsoft Product Activation Center. Follow the instructions that the automated phone system gives you and then try to activate it.

    Let us know what happens.

  • valid product key Vista no for activation

Off my laptop while it updates installed, I turned on and typed my password and was presented with a window telling me that the "windows vista product key I typed is invalid for activation. However, I never typed in a product key.

(I had a problem with my computer over Christmas where I had to get my computer sent in as there was a problem with the sound card.)

    He gave me three options:

1 continue with a reduced function of windows programs (do not do this)

Type 2 in the different product key (tent twice with the computers product portable key but did not work)

    3 contact Dell (letting know!)

I hope someone will help me with this problem. All comments will be greatly appreciated.

You make the right choice by contacting Dell.

    You can also try this:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-Vista/quick-start/activation-FAQ.aspx

Activation FAQ in the link above.

    1. click on start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    2. press enter on your keyboard

    3. Select your country.

    4. take the phone activation option and brace yourself for a real person.

If verrouille locked with the exception of 3 choices, use the option of reduced functionality into Windows to make Activation above.

  • Toshiba l300 1 to 3 problem activation key for product win vista business 32xbit

I have toshiba satellite l300 1 to 3, I formatted and reinstall (windows vista business 32xbit) and windows asks me for the product when I wrote they answer wrong product key please change what I have to do any help please?

I don't understand what you're saying about a 'mobile activation in my system option.

    Here are the steps to follow in that link I gave you;

    SECOND OPTION:

    1. open the Start Menu.

2 in the white line (search) box, type slui.exe 4 and press enter.

3 select your nearest store and click the Next button. (See screenshot below)

4 click on continue in the UAC prompt.

5 a local phone number should apear with a set of numbers generated by Windows and displayed on your screen under step 2: . (See screenshot below)
NOTE: It will be a series of numbers within the 1 to 9. I just removed here for obvious reasons.

6 call the phone number of activation chosen.

7 initially, the line of activation will be automated, so you will be asked to enter or to speak numbers (step 2 in the screenshot below step 10) displayed on your screen in the phone.

    8. If the automated Service is successful
NOTE: In general, this is not always successful.

    (A) the automated service will issue a series of Confirmation ID numbers.
NOTE: Have a pen and paper handy to write these numbers.

    (B) proceed to step 10.

    9. If the automated Service is unsuccessful

    (A) if the activation service informs you that she has failed and cannot help with activation, then STAY ON THE LINE and your call will be transferred to an operator of activation which will help you to activate your copy of Vista. The operator will give you all the numbers to ID of Confirmation if they accept that your copy of Vista is legitimate.
NOTE: The operator just explain your situation and what you did to require activation. (EX: hardware upgrade, installed Vista on a new computer after uninstalling it from the old one, etc...)

10 type in the whole of the Confirmarion given you identification numbers in the step 3: area to be able to activate Vista. (See screenshot below)
NOTE: You will get these numbers since the automated telephone system or operator after that that they confirmed the numbers you gave them in step 7 above.

NOTE: The numbers in step 2 of this screenshot will be there for you to use in step 5 above. I just deleted the on this screenshot for obvious reasons.

11 when you get the window of the Activation was successful , click close to complete. (See screenshot below)

  • Cannot find product key Vista Business

Several years ago, I bought and installed Vista Business Upgrade on my HP XP system.  I now need to re - install on this system, but somehow the product key has been lost.  I bought MS Vista Business DVD.  The product key I stuck on the booklet is not for Vista but for OUTLOOK and of course does not work.  Is it possible to get a key for my legal DVD?

    Thank you.

E the key must be in the packaging in which the DVD came - or if you have purchased an OEM copy, you should have stuck the label on the case of the machine on which it was installed.

If you can't find it, but the machine still works the operating system, use Belarc Advisor to retrieve the key.

  • I was wondering if there is a way to buy a key product for vista, but not using a credit card or paypal?

I am buying a product key for Vista Edition basic family.  I have a CD, but the product key is used that I use another laptop with vista running.  The CD provided with my old laptop.  I understand that microsoft doesn't sell vista, but I've been looking online and I don't want to pay with paypal (I don't have an account set up) and I don't have a credit card.  Any suggestion would be great!

Please note that Windows Vista Home Basic OEM only distributed. If your copy has come pre-installed, then the product key should be in the certificate of Authenticity label. In addition, please note that these copies are not transferable, nor can you get another product key if you still have the old one running.

You can buy a new product key or contact the Microsoft Customer Service for more options.

  • Invalid product key Vista

Hello, I recently bought a laptop Acer 5536 G that came pre-installed with Vista, and not a windows installation CD.

My laptop has been formatted with a Windows Vista DVD and I'm unable to activate with the product key provided with the laptop. After Google search, it is my understanding that a preinstalled OS CD key will not save a DVD Version?

So any advice or help fixing this issue would be very useful, I'm unable to call Microsoft, due to not having a landline, so if I have to contact them is an email address? I was unable to find anything to use to communicate with them by e-mail.

Your laptop may have a recovery partition (if it wasn't delete when you have formatted the drive using the Vista DVD). Check the instructions on what F key, you will need to press on (example: Ctrl + F11) during the initial startup process.

Also contact Acer support: http://www.acersupport.com/ for help and also to ask questions about the availability of the recovery media.

  • Can I use a product key Vista Business OEM with retail Vista Business install disc on the original OEM computer?

In fact, I have two questions:

[1] my niece has a HP laptop with a sticker of the OEM Vista Business product key on the bottom. She has no HP restore disks or something like that. The computer was demoted in XP and now there is something wrong and Windows fails to start (goes to blank blue screen with the mouse pointer, no further). According to the test material, the hard drive still works. I have a retail copy of Vista Business. Can I use its product key with my Vista disks professional retail to install Vista on her computer? It is the key to correct OEM, original to this computer product.

If the #1 answer is Yes, is [2] possible to install without erasing its hard drive? Maybe by making an upgrade? She has files out there that are not backed up - mainly music and Word documents. Can I somehow save them because I install Vista?

No, this is not possible. I guess that you don't really want
"retired", and that XP has been installed clean.

and now there is something wrong and that Windows will not start

Something new, or it never does to start XP?

(empty blue screen with the mouse pointer, not go further). According to the test material, the hard drive still works. I have a retail copy of Vista Business. Can I use its product key with my Vista disks professional retail to install Vista on her computer? It is the key to correct OEM, original to this computer product.

No. an OEM product key does not work with a retail CD. The CD and the
product key must match with respect to retail vs OEM, complete vs.
    Upgrade and family or professional.

If the #1 answer is Yes, is [2] possible to install without erasing its hard drive? Maybe by making an upgrade? She has files out there that are not backed up - mainly music and Word documents. Can I somehow save them because I install Vista?

Whatever you do, you must first copy the Word documents and music
files from external media: CD, DVD, USB keys, eternal hard drive
etc. Even if could do an upgrade (which you do not have a key for) you
should do it because there is always a risk of losing everything.

  • Product key Vista - where can I find it?

I bought an upgrade to windows 7, but I need my vista product key to go forward.

I have a HP with Vista Business installed.  When I bought the PC, I have not received any vista disks.  I had a sticker on the bottom that had the key on, but as it is nearly 2 years he dissipated (hindsight is a wonderful thing!).  Is there anywhere on my computer that can tell me the product key?
