• How the download bundle work with Professional Edition folios?

  I tried to get information on specific issues without success.

  This is the scenario:

  We must develop a newsletter for a company by using membership of the company Apple.  First wave will only be iOS devices.  Second wave will include Android devices.  The newsletter will be around 4 issues per year.

  (1) using the montlhy members, folio downloads are combined?  Newsletter1, Newsletter2 will give us 500 downloads for the first year?  And after that, to have bought 10,000 distribute downloads between all folios, that we published?  The number of downloads available is affected on the profile of the user instead of individual applications?

  (2) no folio downloads expire?

  (3) if we do use iTunes to distribute the newsletter, how do we keep track of downloads? This occurs in the application when it is installed?  And this raises the question if we really need that the costs of downloading if we don't use iTunes?

  (4) If you are using the creative cloud (which only works with iOS devices) is going to give us unlimited downloads, right?  This type of folio works with the Apple company membership?

  (5) if we create the first wave by using the creative Cloud service, and later, we get the professional edition, can 'transfer us' information folio from the CC to the new Service?

  (3) for the consumption of bundle download calculation that is done by the application itself, not iTunes. The DPS dashboard at http://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/ will show you the download counts for your publications.

  (4) creative cloud only gives you access to create simple editing applications. It is a complete, stand-alone, application with your content inside. It doesn't have the ability to download additional content in the application and therefore no download fees and no "unlimited" download It's just a unique and autonomous, application in the app store.

  (5) If you start with a simple editing application and then want to switch to an application of several question you will need to re-apply several issue with App Builder and submit it to iTunes as an update of your existing application. Your existing content used to generate the application may easily be re-published (if necessary) so that it appears in the new application of several question.   I just got my edition simple app rejected by apple.

  This is the issue being reported:

  Your application has the UIFileSharingEnabled true value key in the Info.plist file, but this feature is not functional.

  When file sharing is enabled, all of the Documents folder is used for file sharing. The files that are not intended for the user access via the file sharing feature should be stored in another part of the beam of your application. If your application does not require the functionality of file sharing, the UIFileSharingEnabled key in the Info.plist file must not be set to true.

  [Note: this problem has been solved just in web client.] Any simple editing application now has the possibility of sharing files correctly disabled when you build the application in designer Viewer.]

  I have some bad news. With the viewer v17, the UIFileSharingEnabled key has been set to 'false' for simple editing applications, but was made in error to the 'true' with v18. Your options are to push to use v17 or wait for the next fix solves this problem of v18. Sorry for the inconvience. Thanks for reporting this problem.

• Questions about the professional edition of DPS

  I'm trying to find information on the professional edition of DPS but is unclear to me, maby someone could help me?

  Issues related to the:

  1. how musch does it cost and where on the Adobe site can I buy it? And how many downloads are included?

  2. is it necessary to have a CC account also? I have a subscription to CC for now, but only because I wanted to use unique DPS now retirement edition. But all my indesign work is done on a CS6 license I bought before the introduction of CC. So my question is, can I buy a professional edition of DPS and use it with CS6 without subscription of the CC?

  3. If I want to publish an app multifolio with 3 separate applications for sale inside ($ app a 3.99, app $ two 4.99, in-app three 8.99 dollars) and I want to sell this app the same multifolio on the Appstore, Google play and store Windows, can I do this with a SINGLE professional edition license?

  4. the app I want to publish as 2048 x 1536 and works well with my iPad to the retina. The resolution will also work with tablets of high resolution with android or windows on it?

Or the professional edition to somehow "convert" the dimensions automatically (would a dream solution, I know)? The same accounts for iPhone and Android smart phones, do I have to create the same Indesign files for dimensions in pixels very different screen or how it works?

  (3) can I add features such as In-App-purchases, Push Notifications, adding to the newsstand etc. during the creation of the App on Indesign in the Panel Builder Folio or can I put these things in iTunes Connect?

  (4) currently with the unique edition of DPS, I don't have any Analytics - outside what iTunes Connect shows me of course. Is there perhaps any other analytics tool that I can use at the moment with the unique edition of DPS?

  #2: If you want folios of different size for each device, then you must create files of different size for each device. We have a few features to InDesign to help with this (as the other layouts), but there is still time. Honestly, it is useless. Dimensionnera your folios of 1024 x 768 for the iPad and mailbox correctly on all Android and Windows devices that support us, even Android phones. The only place where you would need to do another dimension is to support iPhones.

  #4: there is no available with simple editing analytics.

  #5: don't forget that when you switch to Professional Edition we still that supports only apps on iPad edition. The iPhone, Android and Windows support is only with applications of several questions.

  I find contradictory information. On the comparison table , it shows that you can get an OVERVIEW of your application on multiple devices. Can I launch an application on iPhone, Android and iPad?

  I currently have all of the necessary requirements for my App, license certificates Apple Dev, and everything is set up with iTunes Connect. Can / be the "roll-over" in this information applied if I cancel my professional edition and upgrade to the unique edition of CC?

  With a creative cloud account, you can now create as many applications as you want, but these are individual applicationseven edition. See the link I posted above for more details on this.

  Your developer account iTunes and certificates are completely independent of the DPS. You can use the same account and developer certificates to create some simple editing as a client of creative cloud applications.

  I'm a little confused now, because of outdated information.

  I need to get a few things straight about the DPS pro edition.

  I work for a company that currently has a pro (at least to my knowledge) license.

  I know that the only edition was droped.

  It is true that now the professional edition has also been droped and everything is focused on the app? So the more applications, more we will pay, right?

  DPS Professional Edition is limited to a single application for a title through each of our supported platforms. In your case, you would have three applications on each platform, which would require three separate Professional Edition licenses.

  We create a digital magazine using Adobe's Publishing Suite. However, I have a question.

  I want to create several folios under a title of the periodical, so that people can subscribe to the magazine. The professional edition that offers you. But if I cancel my subscription and resubscribe later, can I continue creating folios under this title?

  We publish only four editions of our magazine each year. So, it is not sensible to buy a year. Can I subscribe for a month, cancel my subscription, and then re-subscribe three months later and I release a new folio (edition) under this same magazine title? Or what I lose access to my titles when unsubscribe?

  And if I unsubscribe, my magazine/folios you will pass off the coast of the app store?

  We have cloud Creative if it makes a difference.

• Passage of the multi-folio to the edition simple app

  I recently had to cancel my subscription to the professional edition of DPS where I published an application of multi-folio (iPad & iPhone) to iTunes.

  Now, I would like to resubmit the application as an application of simple editing with my Creative Cloud subscription (which will be iPad only).

  I get the following error message when you submit the app with the Application Loader:

  As much as I KNOW, you cannot update an application multi-folio, multi-device as a simple editing application. You might want to wait for someone with a little knowledge more, but be ready create a new application on iTunes connect instead of submit an update.
