Profile of material in windows 7 and windows 8

Hello, my name is Justine, my question is that how to set hardware profile in windows 7 and windows 8 operating system.

Hi Mary,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you want to use the hardware profile in Windows 7 and Windows 8. However, unfortunately hardware profile cannot be used in Windows 7 or a later version of Windows. It could be set up with Windows XP.

Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

Policies automatically goes to "off" If you have your screen as working RGB profile - what is something that you should never do. Always have a standard space like RGB work.

And Yes, "preserve embedded profiles" is the only sensitive parameter. Others are best for special purposes where you really know what you are doing - at worst they will transform your archive in a unrecoverable mess.

    Dear all,

I have a Windows PC in my office. Because of some configuration issue, I deleted the domain user and tried to connect to the system with the same user credentials. It identify you with the credentials of the user, but I get a message saying: "a temporary user profile is loaded because Windows was not able to connect you with your local profile."
This system is joined to the domain and the profile is an Active Directory user.

  • After trying to restore my profile on a pc windows 8.1 all transferred except passwords are not displayed. What should I do?

I tried copying on connections... and key.db files.
I tried to recreate a new profile
    I tried to use sync
    I tried to reset firefox
    private browsing is not on

Is there a file signons.sqlite in this profile?

32 of Firefox and later versions store the passwords in the file logins.json in the profile folder and no longer use the file signons.sqlite.
If you have the file signons.sqlite which has been used in Firefox 31 and more, then you could try to recover the passwords stored in this file (you lose passwords saved in Firefox 32).
You can force Firefox to re-import the passwords in the file signons.sqlite and regenerate the logins.json file.

    • reset the signon.importedFromSqlite pref on the topic: config page by default via the context menu
    • Delete the logins.json file in the closed Firefox with Firefox profile folder

When you restart Firefox, then you should have the pref signon.importedFromSqlite with the value set to true and you should have the passwords into password manager, unless he could have errors.

  • My Vista profiles keep the reset by default, and every time I have to perform a system restore.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2.

I have three user profiles set up, one for my daughter, one for my husband and one for me.

A week or two there, my daughter connected on his profile to find its bottom screen and bookmarks and office icons had been reset.  I thought nothing of it, just helped get everything set back again.

Two days ago, I logged on my profile and my husband connected to Siena, to see that all about its profile has been reset to the default value.  All her desktop icons disappeared, his favorites on Firefox were gone, his background has been reset... absolutely all the custom features have been reset.

I ran system restore, and it resets me up to a point where Paint.net has been updated.  Everything is back to normal, so I stop updates on Paint.net and even blocked his access to the internet using my firewall to prevent it happening again.

Yesterday I logged in my profile to find that the same thing had happened with mine.  So I ran the restore of the system again, and he suggested that I restore to a point where the updates of Windows has been installed.  I did, and everything went back to normal for my profile.

Then this morning my husband connects to sound and finds the same problem.  So we did another restore of the system, return to the last update of Windows.  Everything returned to normal.

I just ran Windows Update, and these are six updates, that it tries to install:

    -Update for Windows Vista (KB976662)-
    -Update for Windows Vista (KB979306)-
-Update for Rights Management Services Client for Windows Vista (KB979099)-
    -Update for Windows Vista (KB976264)-
    -Update for Windows Vista (KB975929)-
-Definition update for Windows Defender - KB915597 (definition 1.75.1050.0)-

I thought that one of these updates may be causing the problem, so I just installed and rebooted my pc, but when I logged in all was ok.  This could be the cause?

If you need more info let me know, thanks!

  • Corrupted profile and the profile "User" generated by Windows

The profile that I use "Shortie" is corrupted and the 'User' profile was generated somehow.

This has happened after running a registry cleaner on the computer. The same registry cleaner has been run on this computer without problem.

I have run the restore of the system twice and both times it came back with an error.

In Control Panel, the user that Shortie is listed under user accounts, but it is not under c:\Users[user-name]\Music\iTunes\iTunes

I also ran Scannow without showing error.

I created another account and copied files, but I need to get the recovered e-mail.

Could someone help to regenerate the account "Alexandra" and let me know about the account "user"?

Can I rename 'User' for 'Shortie', or it is time to take back the HP computer again?

    Thank you.

Very well! I get it... registry cleaners are _ but don't you think I knew that on my own?

The question on this post was about the corruption of the profiles.

I went to another Committee and got the management that I needed.

  • Firefox is not reading my profile restored after reinstalling Windows

I had to reinstall Windows (again!). Before that, I saved my profile on an external drive.

I followed the instructions to restore (created a new profile and copy/paste the files saved in the new profile folder) and can see all the recorded files now reside in the new profile folder, but when I run Firefox it doesn't seem to be reading them at all. None of my favorites are available at all. It still looks like a new installation.

I must have made a mistake somewhere but I can't work out what.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

How did you create the new profile folder: have you used the Firefox profile manager?

    If Yes:

Try to start using the new profile manager and test other profiles where it is currently set by default to that bad.

    If not:

Firefox can not see this folder because of its semi-aleatoric name. If you navigate to go up a level in the profiles folder in the folder of Firefox, you should find a file called profiles.ini. If you open this file in a text editor, it is likely doesn't have the path to your migrated file. You can change the corresponding path and then restart Firefox to see if Firefox connects with the migrated file.

  • Cannot migrate my profile from XP to Windows 7

I want to migrate my Firefox profile (bookmarks, passwords, latest sites visited, installed extensions/applications settings etc.) of my Win XP 64 machine to my new Win 7 machine. Firefox is updated (34.0 5) on my XP 64 and Windows 7 machines (I manually installed the active apps/extensions on Win 7). However Firefox was originally installed on my XP machine (at least 6) years ago so what counts.

I have read and tried everything I can think of but * nothing * works.

On my XP machine, I have only the default profile (to run Firefox with the - P option). It is located in C:\Documents and Settings\TexasTim65\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\1f2yd5bq.default

On my Win 7 machine, I find the default profile in C:\Users\TexasTim65\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\bjy0sgis.default.

Try #1) I copied the folder 1f2yd5bq.default for Win 7. I run Firefox - P, but the profile manager sees only the default profile. So apparently, it cannot detect new profiles randomly added to the profiles folder. So that's a no-go.

Try #2) I open the folder bjy0sgis.default on Win 7. I delete everything in this folder. I can copy and paste into all kinds of 1f2yd5bq.default. I start Firefox and got nothing. No favorites, no sites are visited and I guess no password information or anything else. If this doesn't work for me either even if MANY people claim that this is what they had to do.

Try #3) using the Manager of profiles on Win 7, I added a new profile called hand. I just copied once again 1f2yd5bq.default in the new profile. I put in hand as default profile used (I know works because it uses different extensions/plugins) but of course I have nothing of my copied profile.

So I'm puzzled. Something is different about my setup which is not allowing me to move on in a simple way.

    TIA,

    Tim

P.S. is there something I can do to get Firefox to create EXACTLY the same name profile under Win 7 as I had in XP? I would have thought the same username would produce the same default profile, but apparently it does not.

"On my Win 7 machine, in the fact that I find the default profile

    C:\Users\TexasTim65\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\bjy0sgis.default. "

There is another folder 'Profile' to C:\Users\TexasTim65\AppData\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\bjy0sgis.default - without the \Local in the path. This is the folder you need to copy your old profile files in.

  • How can I transfer profiles of ti XP Windows version 8.1

I'm trying to transfer my Firefox profile on my Windows XP computer to a new computer Windows 8.1. I went through the procedure on your support page to create a new profile and save it on a USB key. The saved file has been "times.json". I tried to copy and paste this in Firefox on Windows 8.1 machine with no luck. Any suggestions?

Hi there, I can't say that I know well the article you're talking about. However if you have both Firefox browsers up-to-date, then you're in luck. Mozilla is working on making it easy for users to get the same experience on all the computers you use. The way I'm going to say, you're going to take care of things like, tabs, bookmarks, passwords, history, modules, and preferences. I'm not personally in a way to move more. If that's what you are looking for we will need someone else. Now for all I know. First of all, make sure that Firefox is updated. This version on Vista and Windows 7 is very different, v28 and more. Then the icon at the top right with three horizontal lines is the replacement for the Firefox button. Click on this symbol. On the menu drop down, there will be an icon of synchronization. Click on that. Then, you will need to create an account. I hope it works for you. Sorry if this isn't what you're looking for.
