  I lost all my profile settings, including internet bookmarks, music playlists, etc. The office looks like a brand new installation of Vista and all the customization disappeared. I can't afford to lose all data. It is seriously important and was on my desk and in my documents.

  Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Windows Vista Community.   New profile created, try browsing to the old profile (C:\users\username).  You should see all the old user data.  If this does not work, try to copy the files in Safe Mode.

  Hello MC, I have an acct Outlook, not OE (Windows XP)... I am a computer novice user (2mos) my knowledge & terminology is very minimal, it would be greatly appreciated if you could bear with me and provide me with (if possible) with appropriate links so I can try to learn... Whenever I start my computer, I get the OE pop-up asking if I will allow them to "free up disk space, this may take a few minutes..." VERY ANNOYING! I have read many of the discussions on the topic "Windows" Forum and followed the "procedure of indexation" without success, but then I read more about INDEXING and COMPACTING MSGS and I meet a lot of difficulty understanding all this information... It seems to me it is advisable to periodically clean up the database while happen if I said 'yes' to the pop up? This affects one of my saved messages or only deleted ones? It would make me change OE (I don't want)? I need help... I want to go the pop up, but I don't want to dismiss the question if I don't keep my system properly... BTW, I have Anti Spyware & Anti Malware installed I read what what can cause the pop up?       Respectfully Kwik P(whew!)

  My Board to go to start, settings, Control Panel, add / remove programs find Windows Desktop Search and choose uninstall - then restart and see what things look like.

  And back to the answer that you have ticked "Answer" and The United Nationsmark as being the answer (only you can do it).  A response is not the same thing as an answer - an answer solves your problem.

  When I try to connect, below my password that what follows comes up - not user profile service in charge.  The same profile is who was the installation when I bought the computer.  HP told me that I have to use the system recovery.  Well that sucks cause I have a lot of files and images that I need, but I can't the user that I need.

• What happened to the security icon (the lock is not displayed) with update to 6.0.2?

  I've just updated to FF 6.0.2 or on the States of pop-up FF and I noticed that the security icon no longer displays at the bottom of the screen. I checked under Tools/Options and find none to enable its display, same under notice. Could you please tell?

  COR - el of credit: in Firefox 4 and later you no longer have the Status bar which showed the padlock in previous versions of Firefox.
  The padlock shows only that there is a secure connection and does not guarantee that you are connected to the right server.
  So you could always be connected to the wrong server if you make a typing mistake in the URL and someone said that mistyped the URL.
  The lock feature has been replaced by the identity button of the Site on the left end of the address bar.

  Check out the video limiter effect. It's a much more robust and modern way to produce broadcast safe levels.

  I have not tested, I guess based on a combination of documentation and experience in similar situations. It should still run once with the reason set to ABORTED to give the code inside a chance to do a cleaning. If you are in the middle of an iteration, it will end this iteration, then run again immediately. If cancellation is received during the wait, the loop is executed immediately once (stops pending). The last execution will always be reason set to ABORTED, and you never have a situation where the code is suddenly stopped in the middle of execution.
