Profile width variable STROKE weight

Next to the weight of the race, theres a small menu that allows you to change the shape of the stroke (Illustrator has only about 6 of them). How I got on creating my own profiles for this?
stroke variable stuff.png

It's what looks like those predefined

These are just the default presets for the width tool. You can create as much of yourself as you like on the basis of the mentioned tool. Read the help on the subject and they have read also about the different types of brush, which can also help to reproduce the features of variable width.

  • Profile of variable width Brush tool keeps resetting

This problem is baffling to me. I'm relatively new to Illustrator, so I would appreciate help. I use Adobe Illustrator CS6 with a mouse, rather than a tablet of pressure.

When I create a line using the paint brush tool, I hold on to contain a profile of variable width. For example, narrower at the beginning and at the end of the race, but thicker in the middle. Now I can do this by selecting the line, after that I did the race and choosing the fundamental definition of the brush in the drop-down list.  But if I try to draw a new line, the settings are reset again.  I can't create a variable race during the creation of the race. The definition of brush guard given to pt 5 round and accidents vascular cerebral width 1 pt. It would be much faster if the race remained as a profile of variable width I created features.

I noticed the same problem with the blob Brush tool, except that it's even worse. With the blob Brush tool, the weight of the race resets always regardless of whether or not I try to define a profile of Variable width.

I tried to uncheck "New Art has basic appearance" mentioned on another forum, but that has not worked.

I know its possible because I've seen on this youtube video. http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=R5wW_65iAiU

View the profile of variable width is maintained, like artists, raffles. It is not keep resetting.

    Thank you

OK - I thought about it.  I was tried on a thicker line, but I guess this line had been created by the brush, or at least brush "3 PT round" had been applied to it.  When I clicked on the back of base, the designation of variable width appeared.

Phew!  Thanks for sticking with me on this little stupid thing!

  • Accident stroke weight Bug?

I'm having this problem with the weight of the race on my items remaining the same pixel size when I adjust their size.  I had this problem in 5.5 and learned how to solve this problem by the Panel 'Object Transform' and de-selection 'adjust STROKE weight when climbing.

Well, who died in CC, but the race is still obviously growing when I increase the size of my object.  The weight of the race has always said it's the same thing, but one can easily say that the race is bigger.  And him 'adjust STROKE weight when climbing"is grayed out.  I can't turn on or off.  Something is happening.  Can someone help me with this, please?  I would really appreciate it.

There is a scaling option in preferences ("Général" page), compare CC 5.5.

  • Is it possible to apply the profile of variable width to the marks left by the form of task?

    Task form is selected.
    Screen Shot 2012-03-22 at 8.56.48 PM.png
After having applied a blow on the work plan - the race of properties appear in the toolbar and are by default "uniform" for the layout Variable width profile.
    Screen Shot 2012-03-22 at 8.57.24 PM.png
I select the profile second on the list.
    Screen Shot 2012-03-22 at 8.57.39 PM.png
    And draw another path.
    Screen Shot 2012-03-22 at 8.57.56 PM.png
    Yet, the same uniform contour.
    Screen Shot 2012-03-22 at 8.58.21 PM.png
I realize that the form of the task creates a form shows - but surely there is always a "path" that is used initially to save the race. A Variable width profile cannot be applied to a Blob brush stroke?
    Screen Shot 2012-03-22 at 8.58.38 PM.png
Why would I do this? I want to be able to sketch quickly, make the design of the characters and have a single shape to export Flash as a symbol of the head, etc.. I could use the tool brush and then object > path > terms of contour, and then use the Pathfinder Panel for unit all the traits described together form a compound... but it's too disruptive to sketch...

If you want to create a blob brush object (with a match nil) less boring then a fat less then straight then double-click on your blob Brush tool icon and tweak the settings...

    Good news:

You can CC workaround 2015/El Capitan as follows:

Click Reset race profiles, and then click Cancel, and then select a profile.

  • Profile of variable width questions

I select a weight of the race, width 4 profile and a basic definition of brush and place the thick end on one side and thin on the other. How do I change so when I pull the line I control from thin and thick parts?

    Thank you.

The meaning of the path is important.

You can also use the dash Panel and just press it. Use "Show options" If you don't see any options in the Panel

  • How can I request a profile of variable width or brush to various traits of a length without them sculpting?

I am trying to get an effect of line drawn by hand with an illustration that I do. I built my art with the pen tool and have tried to apply a profile of both custom variable width brush that I found online. They both look good on the longer path segments, but they scrunch on shorter paths. Is it possible that I can apply the brush or the profile of all paths and have the brush apply evenly along the way for its length and then just stop rather than try to up the ante on the path set any length it is? I use Illustrator cs6 on a mac with the mavericks.

    Screen Shot 2014-03-26 at 6.20.23 PM.png

    Thanks for your help!

Apply a default line. Remove the profile of the wdith and brush

    Apply the "contour" effect

Apply the "Scratching" effect with small values.

In the Panel "Scratch" aspect should be below "shot of contour".

  • You can mix width variable shots?

I use Illustrator CS5 and cannot mix features of variable width in Illustrator. I can't do that even with the same profiles in width unless they are developed. I couldn't find questions similar to this topic on the net, but dream to double check before I made the necessary changes. I'm a little confused because Adobe 'help' shows how powerful blends of objects are, but we cannot have them like the strokes?

I want to keep the mixture as shots do not increase them. What is the best way to see how the mix will look like a width to increase and then "undo" a bunch of times.

One more quick question, but is there a quick access key to extend the mixture without entering the object-mixture-develop? I guess I could create a keyboard shortcut to expand appearance?

    Thank you!

You can mix them, but it is necessary that initial objects have identical profiles and the weight of the race.

As soon as you change the profile or the weight of the race into the mix, it does not work as you expect.

    Probably just half-baked.

  • Where is the profile width in Illustrator CC 2015?

Hi, I heard that the width profile is supposed to be in the dash Panel but I can't: http://puu.sh/iuTfH/71dd1873b1.png

    Pereeia,

    Option view should show them.

Use drop down the menu, or double-click the title "Stroke" a couple of times.

  • How to create impulses cause a pulse width Variable AND at the same time

    Hi all

I have a NI PCI-6251 that comes with 2 counters, a FREQOUT port and then some DIO, DAC and ADC.  I want to trigger a pulse of variable width (easy to do with two counters) and a frequency closed, exit at the same time.  So, I want to end up with a line that will display TOP for some variable time, while the other exits a train of pulses for a time variable.  It is easy to do if you have 4 counters but I don't have one.  Does anyone have an idea to implement these two things AND making them trigger at the same time with the PCI-6251 card?

The line is high for as long as your pulse train controlled?

If so, set up the first counter as output pulse, configure the 2nd as output continuous meter but with the internal of the first counter output as its trigger to pause (pause when it is low).  Start the 2nd meter before the first.

If not, you will need to use the digital output to replace at least one of the counters (max sampling rate is 10 MHz, so this would give less resolution compared to the time base of 80 MHz counters).  So you would simply write the waveform predetermined in the buffer and he clock at the desired rate and the number of samples to give the signal that you want.  You need to generate some other subsystem as FreqOut clock.

  • return on investment for the profile line variable

    Hello

I built a vi with vision assistant, where the profile of a single horizontal line is included. If the acquired image had the X, Y coordinate system, I want to extend the vi so that it updates all possible horizontal lineprofiles (X 1/Y0 to X 1/Yn) line (Y0/Xn to Xn/Yn) in this order. So I have to vary the return on investment (line), but how is this possible? I have no experience in labview, so it's hard for me with the data of different types and functions.

    Thanks for help

    Hi Blue12,

You may not need to create a return on investment for each line. You can get information on line directly with "IMAQ-profile line. You can directly enter the coordinates of your line and out of the profile.

Please save yourself frustration and get LabVIEW training before attempting to implement applications.

I would like to know if there is a way to do this:

I have a series of tables that should be formatted in a specific way. Unfortunately, with the table options I am able to do only a part of these formatting; formatting so the question is: How can I set the weight of the race of a cell border based on an adjacent cell?

  • Form/unit number

    Hi all

New to illustrator and after the creation of a logo that I fight to get in to a compound shape to apply effects to it. On CC and have mainly used the pencil strokes to create the logo, but a couple of fill, created patterns in the color chart. After expanding appearance and extend once more, I try to unite all the different sections but he smashes just all lines. I also tried to unite in small sections, nothing helps. the final goal is to have just a two-dimensional image where I can clear sections of color and edit profile width/brush STROKE one. Thanks in advance

I understand that this would be a difficult, but should all expand to paths, how could I go about this? Is it different from simply selecting all and expansion? and get rid of fill patterns would be a solution to create a compound shape?

You don't need to get rid of the models. You need to develop. Please also read the manual on fill patterns and how to develop them.

Also: What you want is not necessarily a compound shape, but a compound path

also would intersect in the pathfinder options transform all the overlapping lines in to one single vector?

N ° intersect leaves you with intersections. Please read about the pathfinder in the manual. It also has examples of use.

surely flattening it and having the ability to change it as one vector is better in the long run,

If you believe it, just go ahead.

You'll need to a compound path in the end that give printers and/or to produce t-shirts and others. In case you really want to produce t-shirts (or anything that needs to be cut) I would check with a service provider first due to the amount of detail.
