Error when you try to run Windows backup under Vista
I keep getting error messages when I try to run the Windows backup to an external drive. Aired these backups every month for a while with no problems, but now he keeps by default. An old laptop, so I am running vista.
First of all, I got this message "error 0x8007045D: the request could not be performed because of an i/o device error." After looking on the suggestion of a forum has been a problem with the external hard drive, so I ran check disk but who gave the fire. At the same time, I tried to open a file on a separate external drive to get a similar error message - seems a little by chance...
Because the disk check gave the fire I tried to climb back again, to get the message ' the shadow copy creation timed out. " Repeat (0 x 81000101).
Hoping that someone would have an idea of how to fix this?
Thank you!

How to run a BACK 16-bit based program under Vista

How to run a 16-bit program back under vista? is it possible to run a program of back under vista. I'm kinda a noob so keep it light wieght for me...Hello
Windows Vista does not include a 16-bit subsystem. So, you will not be able to run 16-bit applications on Windows Vista directly. However, you can install Virtual PC on your
Vista computer and then you can install Windows XP on your virtual PC to run 16-bit applications. You can download Virtual PC for Vista from the link below:

I try to install Rockwell Automation Studio 5000, but I get an error message saying "Studio 5000 is not supported on Windows Visa without Service Pack 1 or higher". However my PC is under Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) and Vista that is covered by the requirements of this program.
Any ideas?
What is the version number of Studio 5000 you have?
You can try to install using the "compatibility mode".
What is program compatibility?
Program compatibility is a mode in Windows that allows you to run programs written
for earlier versions of Windows. Most programs written for Windows Vista are also running Windows 7,
but some older programs might run poorly or not at all.

Can I run an old program BACK under Vista?
Is it possible to run an old program BACK on a Vista operating system. either 32 or 64 bit?
I found a simple painless 3rd party open source solution. It is simply done by running a BACK EMU called Dosbox.
Use the latest version of www.dosbox.com.Read the easy to understand by the Doc for the command line interface commands. Worked perfectly the first time to run an old (something 80) BACK ASCII B & W strategy game that I use to start BACK on a 4 platform mghz v3.2 clone IBM XT. -

How were you completely delete a / profile under vista user account?
How were you completely delete a / profile under vista user account?
I have a virus on a different user profile, and I just want to remove this profile.
(ON VISTA)
Hello
How to remove a Vista user account - even if you do this, you should check as well
for malware.
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/93026-user-account-delete.htmlEven if you do not see the virus on your other profiles, it might be in areas that will subsequently
cause problems in the other profiles. It would be preferable to eliminate malware from the machine
that can be done without using the profile infected from an ADMIN account. If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running
resident who can cause as many questions as the malware and may be harder to detect as
the cause. No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then
its best to be thorough than paying the high price later now too. Check with them to one
extreme overkill point and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean. It can be made repeatedly in Mode safe - F8 tap that you start, however, you must also run
the regular windows when you can.TDSSKiller.exe. - Download the desktop - so go ahead and right-click on it - RUN AS ADMIN
It will display all the infections in the report after you run - if it will not run changed the name of
TDSSKiller.exe to tdsskiller.com. If she finds something or not does not mean that you should not
check with the other methods below.

Satellite A500 PSAM3A - how to get the HARD market under Vista 64-bit disk Protection System
Hello
I would like to know how to get the HARD drive Protection system up and running under Vista Home Premium 64 bit operating system. I downloaded the program 64 bit of Toshiba for this program and install it I tried but doesn't seem to work. I have uninstalled and try to install the program, but still does not work.
Unable to find the problem, why it won't work. If anyone knows how to solve this problem it would be a great
help for me. If anyone knows how to solve this problem please answer me as soon as possible.Thank you for your time.
Kind regards
Nigel.Hello!
What you downloaded exactly on the Toshiba site?
As written Akuma you must install first added value Package you will find also on the Toshiba site. Check this box!
An interesting thing: it does not work if you are using the preinstalled operating system? It should have everything installed for your laptop.
Good bye

Why 2 partitions of OS on HP dv9628 laptop computer under Vista Home Premium?
I was just checking my wife of the older HP Pavilion dv9628nr under Vista Home Premium with 2 HARD drives. I didn't even know he had 2 HARD drives. I opened the case to make sure.
Here is a screenshot of disk for system management. I have a few questions:
1. Why is there a system operating on each HARD drive partition?
2 are 2 necessary and deleted maybe?
Generally however, the C: drive is not always your primary. This may change if based on the installation program. The installer in this book, could be Raid. This is where the 2 drives are used to create a combined drive. Based on the laptop being adverstised as a drive of 240 GB, but with 2 120 GB drives in it. This is most likely how it was setup. To know for sure you'd have to check to see if this feature is enabled in the BIOS. Before you change any settings that you would like to make sure that you have recovery discs and backed up all the content. As having the OS on a single disk, you will need to disable Raid in bios and probably to format both drives. Then reinstall the operating system on you get (the one listed as C:, to avoid complications).
This article (from ehow.com) can help with your Bios check, so that you can see if Raid is enabled and if you choose to disable. How to disable Raid BIOS
I hope you're able to help.

Move the Users folder to another drive or partition under Vista 64
I want to move my full users folder to another drive or partition under Vista 64-bit.
I found these instructions to do with Windows 7 and confirm that they work very well on a Windows 7 computer I set up yesterday.ROBOCOPY, RMDIR, MKLINK programs all exist in Vista and have all the command line switches such as specified in section of Windows 7.I want to use junction points as described in the article, rather than messing around with search-and-replace in registry. The use of junction points is cleaner and easier to reverse if I ever need to move the Users back folder to its original location. These same instructions for Windows 7 works with Vista 64 bit to move my users folder to a different hard disk or partition?Well, I couldn't wait any longer for a response.
So I gave him a test and Windows 7 instructions work perfectly with Vista 64 - bit word. Hope it will be useful to someone else.
