  (I also see that maybe I should be, use the case statement instead of the NVL on where clause, but not sure of the syntax. In addition, NVL was used somewhat in the different reports in the application...)

  Hello and welcome to Apple Support communities,

  This problem may be caused by a number of things, most often the cause is the device not being able to contact the time server. Here are the instructions from Apple supported for this problem, as well as a link to the appropriate article.

  Follow these steps, after each step:

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of iOS.
  2. Automatically turn on set in settings > general > Date & time. This will automatically put your date and time based on your time zone.
  3. Make sure that your time zone is set correctly. Tap Settings > general > Date & time > time zone.

  If you still have any questions affecting your date, time, or time zone, you can automatically disable in the settings > general > Date & time and manually set the time and time zone. Or contact your carrier.

  The option to enable the value automatically may not be available in all countries or all shells.

  If the time on your iOS device does not go after a sync with your computer, the computer may be time wrong. Check the time on your computer in system preferences > Date & time. You can select "Set date and time automatically."

  Of course, if the time of your carrier server cannot connect the other option is to manually set the date and time until the carrier server are again available.

  Looks like you are trying to use the MS SQL Server syntax rather than the Oracle syntax.

  You did not say why to_char does not work for you...

  Try...

  e_Equipment.EQU_STATUS = TO_CHAR (A_POBSYSENUMS. PSS_ID)

  With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

  1) register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
  • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

  2) Remove and return Service books (pre-BB10 only devices)

  • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
  • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
  • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

  3) restart

  • Pre-BB10 ONLY devices. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
  • Peripheral BB10. Hold the top button until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the unit to be completely stopped (for example, nothing appears on the screen, no lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red light. Wait through the entire boot process. IF this fails, you can try the method of battery-pull above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
  • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  Yes, if there are no rows in the table, or no line meets the conditions in the WHERE clause, it would be logical that the query return lines exactly 0, but it is also logical that the query returns exactly 1 row.  People who have designed SQL apperantly thought return 1 row was most helpful.

  If you want the query to return 0 rows when there is no data, you can GROUP BY a constant.  For example:

  SELECT MAX (hiredate) AS last_hitedate

  FROM scott.emp

  WHERE deptno = & deptno_wanted

  GROUP 0

  ;

  If there are any rows that meet the condition in the WHERE clause, then the query will produce 1 row, but if no rows meet this condition, then the query will return 0 rows.

  Personally, I'm happy that they designed this way SQL.  I find it rather convenient that the aggregates without GROUP BY clause will return 1 row.  I do things like

  SELECT COUNT (*)

  FROM table_x;

  often, when I want to know if a table has been filled or not.  Seeing a 0 for the output is much clearer that does not get any results.
