Hey, tzelee - sorry for the confusion.  I agree that your existing operating system Vista Business is without a doubt a valid version of the OS and confirmed how this error came about.   You reason that your PC is eligible for the upgrade of Vista equivalent Windows 7 Professional professional.  I would work to get the situation corrected and will get back to you as soon as POSSIBLE.

  • Satellite L500-13D: all programs & settings are gone after upgrade to Windows 7

    Hello.

    My laptop is Satellite L500-13D

I've upgraded to WINT in VISTA using official TSB upgrade disk.
It seems that something was wrong. Win7 installed properly, but unfortunately all installed programs and settings are gone.
I see also that when the upgrade $directories on C: and E partitions have been created; programs and older files are there.

    A few questions:

    1. is there a way to return return programs?
    2. how to create the recovery disks now under WIN7, because there is no CREATOR of TOSHIBA RECOVERY more?
    3. download TOSHIBA RECOVERY CREATOR?

    Hi mate

Have you read the manual that came with the laptop and Windows 7 upgrade disc?

After an upgrade to Windows 7 you need additional disk with the upgrade tools that came with the Windows 7 upgrade disk.

    > 2. How to create the recovery disks now under WIN7, because there is no CREATOR of TOSHIBA RECOVERY more?
This is not possible because the recovery disk must be created at first running the operating system preinstalled by Toshiba.

    > 3. Download TOSHIBA RECOVERY CREATOR?
If I know that cannot be downloaded.

  • Satellite A500 - missing programs after the upgrade to Windows 7

    Hello

    I have the Satellite A500 - 134.
When I was upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7, I had to remove some programs as Advisor on upgrade mentioned.
Now I'm bored of these programs after installing Windows 7:
    # Toshiba Tempro
    # Toshiba ConfigFree
    # Toshiba Disc Creator

In addition, the 'FN' key no longer (it worked on Vista), so I can't activate a feature when I press FN + (some F # buttons as F2).

So, what can I do about it?

    Hello

Have you used the kit to upgrade from Windows 7 home Toshiba? This kit also contains a utility that should be used to reason the installation process and mentioned in manual.

Anyway, you can get tools on the Toshiba page now:

The FN keys to install Toshiba Value added Package.

  • all programs suffered during upgrade to windows 8

I received advice incorrect a tech wizard when upgrading to Windows 8.1. Consequences that all my programs are lost, including all the stuff that was on my 520-1040 a Touchsmart HP. The files are saved, but I don't know what to do.

The computer works more like a touch screen.

I have no backup recovery (Yes, I know... ridiculous) but my questions are about what to do next.  Contact HP, try buying a factory restore disc and go back to windows 7?

I'm at a complete loss to know where to go from here.  I assumed, when I read that the touch screen software was not compatible with Windows8, windows 8 had its own sweet dishes of touch screen which would replace.

    Any advice appreciated

I downloaded the HP drivers, but that's all I'm - only and Windows 8. No screen touch and of course, all my programs are lost, such as Microsoft office and Photoshop etc.

    Thanks for reading

    Lurchsmum, welcome to the forum.

Personally, I would order the recovery disks and start over.  At least this time you have the recovery disks.

  • The upgrade to windows 7 without the HP Windows 7 program

    Hello

I think the upgrade of my HP pavilion with windows vista laptop Windows 7 but missed on the upgrade program. I would like to know if the programs that came pre-installed on my laptop as Cyberlink DVD Suite Deluxe, microsoft Works Manager and recovery would still be there after a clean install or can I download these programs at HP and if so could you give me a link. I would also like to know if I can make the disc bootable recovery for windows 7. I would also like to know how to get the software/programs and drivers for windows 7 for my laptop and the best way to install windows 7 without programs to upgrade windows 7 HP.

Thanks for the reply. I wandered just so I can get a download to a compatible HP Recovery Manager on Windows 7

I don't believe that you can. The Recovery Manager which comes with a HP installed W7 is supposed to work with some serious W7 DVD's, not Vista. You can try it, but I don't think it will work. If so, that's fine.

Here is a link of Cheryl to download some third-party programs that will create recovery discs. Then you won't need the Recovery Manager:

     http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/operating-systems-and-software/copying-a-recovery-disc/m-p/249208#M35802

This is the last post from Cheryl.

and also, I would like to know if the recovery partition is still there after cleaning installed

If you choose not to delete the Vista recovery partition, it will always be there, but the once you have created your recovery DVD of Vista, you no longer have any in any way. Some people have kept and tried to make it active all in W7 and it did not work. This is because it is designed to work with Vista. I got rid of all the baggage of Vista when I did my installation on my HDX.  It provides a clean slate to work from. Vista recovery disk you did is bootable DVD and does not require the present recovery Vista Manager or partition.

When you read the tutorial that said you that you will create "unallocated space" it erases the hard drive nice and clean so there is no more contradictory left applications for Vista. I deleted the entire disc and left nothing of Vista, including the Vista recovery partition.

and if I use my vista recovery disks can I still go back to windows 7 using the installation disc or if I have to buy windows 7 again.

You can use the Windows installation disc as many times as you want. as long as it's on this machine. If you go back to Vista just put the W7 disk in and try again. If you follow this tutorial of Cheryl and my instructions, you shouldn't have any problems. Here's a useful tip. During the installation of W7 you will be asked to enter your product number and activate it online.

Choose not to: use it as a 30 day trial and when you are satisfied that everything is up and running then you can activate it on your own, as long as it is in this 30 day window.

Just to point out, you can use the disk on any machine for a 30 day trial. If you have a friend who wants to try W7 you can lend him the disc. They will have no choice, but to use it as a trial because you have the only key to product. The product is on the box plastic and not anywhere on the installation disc. The drive is useless with a legitimate product key.

After 30 days, Microsoft will lock them out of their computer if they do not enter a key.

P.S. I don't have the HP Windows 7 Upgrade option. I'll buy Windows 7 in my computer store

When you buy your drive of W7 make sure and get the upgrade because it is cheaper. It will allow you to perform a new installation you have a Vista OS works.

The only time where you need to purchase a full version is if you install on a computer with no previous operating system on the hard drive.

Tip: After loading of the W7 the first driver you want to install is for the video card (NVIDIA I think) you'll find out why.

    The following versions of Microsoft Outlook are fully supported on Windows 7;

    • Outlook 2003
    • Outlook 2007
    • Outlook 2010 (when it came out)

It is recommended to always update your version of Outlook directly after installation to take care of any question of incompatibility which have been corrected.

    Previous versions

  • Upgrade to Windows 10 erase all files and programs now on my computer, or make it unusable?

Upgrade to Windows 10 erase all files and programs now on my computer, or make it unusable?  I have since I have not answered on this site, I headed to the computer store, 'Best Buy', to see if their staff or their staff of in-house computer repair people called "Geek Squad" could answer this question.  NONE OF THEM COULD.

Well up to now, I had a lot of problems with windows 10. Some programs do not work. My wireless guard is disconnected. And when I restored it windows 8.1, my browsers did not work. It's just on a single computer. Others have not yet verified, I'm very satisfied with the situation. He also removed my antivirus program.

The biggest problem is with the software I paid for and that you do not have a disk to reinstall. WHY - because today ' today, software publishers want you pay every month, and when things like that, go bad, there is no record of re - install the software. I spent hours trying to solve this problem, but until now I'm waiting for Microsoft's online live chat 194 minutes go.

I would say that they should have ethics applied to developers of software for this kind of things don't happen. How unfair is that they release a product with a ton of bugs simply because developers are too lazy to correct the problems before its release. They must be charged a fine for lack of ethics in programming.

So to answer your question - so far the files are still there, but has great difficulty with the programs works not as they did. In addition, if go back you to an earlier version of windows, it seems that they made it impossible for previous versions to work as before without having to reinstall all the software you have.

I'd wait until they have corrected most of the bugs. I'm stuck, but you're not.

  • The upgrade of Windows 10 will wipe away my documents and programs?

I've always had a new machine when you upgrade to a new operating system. Will effect update documents or programs already installed or registered? Some of these programs were download only, is no longer available or taken in charge and those that I use regularly.

The upgrade to Windows 7 or later will preserve my personal files, applications, and settings?

Yes, the upgrade to Windows 7 or a later version will keep your files staff, settings, and applications.

  • I'm having a problem when I upgraded to Windows 7 with my programs Adobe CS3 showing Type1 fonts. I have .pfb files both .pfm in Windows fonts folder. Works with MS Word and Notepad.

Type1fonts will not be displayed in Adovè CS3 programs.

    * Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign are the main programs I have problems with.
    * Just upgraded to Windows 7
    * Having .pfm file types as required for Type1 fonts .pfb
    * The fonts work in Notepad, MS Word and Aim messenger
    * Fonts common requested; Helvetica and universe

If no one has understood the problem by themselves that I'll tell you how I could solve the problem. Go to program files (x 86) > common files > adobe > fonts and put all type 1 fonts in this folder and they work.

  • How to get back my old programs and games after the upgrade to Windows 7?

I just upgraded from Windows XP 32-bit to 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium and I followed the instructions on the Microsoft site. After installation, all my shortcuts were gone and the old programs and games, I had were put into a file called "windows.old". How can I get the programs and games in new windows? I don't want to download and reinstall EVERYTHING I had before.

You need to reinstall... 32 to 64-bit is a change of platform and requires a clean installation. Data are stored in Windows.old
