  When you set the dataProvider for your tree control, you actually pass an array or arraycollection collection or whatever to this property. The table contains objects from your server, right? Each object must contain a property with the id of file, something like:

  var arr:Array = [{id: 1, folderID: 34, name: "...}] "}, {id: 2, folderID: 4, name:"...} »},...] ;

  Now, when you click on an item in your tree or your dataGrid, you can access the id of file by:

  myTree.selectedItem.folderID

  If you want to evaluate the response time when you call a service, you can use Charles Web Debugging Proxy as it is able to control the calls using the AMF protocol.

  If you want to monitor is the ActionScript objects from Java in the class that retrieves the result in the service, you can use the Flex Profiler.

• Flex on server application deployment

  Hi, I wonder if it is possible to deploy flex app directly to the j2ee server that is to say?

  Most Flex applications are deployed by copying just the wrapper HTML and the SWF file somewhere on the server where the server will answer if this URL is requested. It's just a matter of copying a few files on the server.

  Is it true that you are not familiar with deployment on J2EE servers in general? I'm not familiar with it, but I thought that if you were, you can simply copy the files.

• Cost of the deployment of Flex 2.0 applications

  Don't get me wrong, I think that Flex 2.0 is about the most amazing app to date development tool and I am very eager to build and deploy applications with it. My question revolves around the cost to do so.
  
  I'm working on a range of internet and intranet applicationsin CF and I'd love to put Flex on the front-end server. My concern is intranet applications. It is largely small office apps and the cost for MySQL, and ColdFusion purchase costs more than I'd be able to market the application for. Remote access work with the CF developer edition? Adobe allows even commercial applications to run on the developers version?
  
  Basically, I can't get around to buy MySQL and this cost will work, but if I have to buy a Standard Version of the CF for more each application I sell, is not worth it.

  We can say that the web services are custom HTTP services. Web services add the SOAP over HTTP protocol, so you can have organized functions, arguments, values, etc.

  I'm sure that it is not the costs associated with the Java, Apache or PHP. They've all got free and open licenses. Either way, Apache is the Web server. You can implement your solution in PHP or Java (JSP) and it would be hosted by Apache (as I know). These days, PHP is the most popular because it is open source and relatively simple to use (and I believe taken supported by Apache out of the box). There are probably all of the best free solutions.

  I'm setting these properties in a command generated by the initialization event of my Application. The openItems works, but I can't get the tree to select the specified items, or I can get it to reach the position of the firstVisibleItem.

  I fixed it. I put the properties in a different order (openItems, then selectedItems, and then firstVisibleItem) and perform a validateNow() on the tree when one of these properties are updated.

  Hello. I install PeopleTools 8.53 with the server database Oracle 11 GR 1 material and OS Oracle Linux 5. WebLogic Server and Oracle database server running properly.
  Data Mover Bootstrap and application designer can connect to the instance of database successfully.

  I installed the tuxedo11gR1 application server correctly. I have set up and start the PT8.53 domain as below, but it will not start.

  We have an application multi-probleme with iTunes subscriptions (retail) in kiosks. We currently publish monthly issues within our application who have the opportunity to subscribe (monthly/annual) as well as by purchasing a single question at retail. We have a Pro account.

  Recently, we published a special issue in using this application to several subscription questions so that existing subscribers would see this special issue within their player with the hope of their 'buy' retail. What we like.

• Flex and InDesign application WYSIWYG editing

  I'm creating an application using Flex and InDesign Server. I am facing an interesting problem with it.

  Flex application renders a model (contain images or text) based on XML. After editing the text content by the user, this XML model will change to InDesign server and will generate PDFS. It works very well. But if I compare the PDF model and model in Flex then I sometimes noticed the problem about text WYSIWYG template.

  I noticed this problem in the content of multiline text.

  I have not tried, but I think what you could do is add
  requestHeaders to the urlrequest object that you pass in the file.upload)
  method. The requestHeaders is an array of name/value pairs that would be
  included with your post. At least in theory, I think it should work.

• Using XML with Flex - better Question practice

  I use an XML file as a dataProvider for my Flex application.
  My request is quite large and we do move a lot of data - so the XML file I use is also big enough.
  
  I have read a few tutorials and had air in-depth examples online and I'm just after a little advice. My application works, but I don't know if I went about setting up and using my data provider of the best (most effective) way.
  
  I'm basically after a few tips as to time, I go on (access) using my XML and by filling my Flex application is the best and most effective way?
  
  My request is made up of the main application (MXML) and also additional file in the form of files / components.
  
  I'll set up my connection to my XML in my application file master file using HTTPService:

  I see no problem with it.

  Your alternatives are to ignore instance variables and to query the XML directly. If you use values in many places, the Variables will be easier to use and maintain.

  Also, instead of instance variables, colld place you in the values in an "associative array" (object/hashtable), or in a dictionary.
