Hello

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

Your computer is connected to a domain network?

Thank you for details on the issue.

System protection is a function that creates and records information about your computer's system files and settings regularly. The system protection also saves previous versions of files that you have modified. It saves these files in the restore points that are created just before significant system events, such as the installation of a program or device driver. They are also created automatically once every seven days if no other restore points were created in the last seven days, but you can create restore points manually at any time.

I hope this information helps.

Please let us know if you need more help.

Thank you

  • On the Protection of the system in Windows 8!

    Hello

My question is in the protection of the system in Windows 8, I have C and D lit discs! And when you turn on the drive C drive D is also on both at the same time! These drives supposed to be because I was still able to do the restore of the system both off!

Thank you very much for your help,

    HONEY BEAR 100

Yes, drive C and drive D are always when the computer is turned on. Drive C is your main drive and D drive is often used by the CD/DVD drive in your computer. The only way to 'turn off' the D drive is by disconnecting the data cable and the power cable on the CD/DVD drive. I have no experience with the system restore.

    Hello

What is the exact error message received when the problem occurs?

    Methood 1:

Auditor of file system (CFS) scan to fix all of the corrupted system files. To do this, follow the steps in the following link:

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Method 2:

You can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

I suggest to put the computer in a clean boot state, and check if the problem persists, see the link:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: See step 7; Reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting is performed.

    Method 3:

You can temporarily disable the security software and check if the problem occurs. Check out the following link to do the same thing:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Warning: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • How writing protected for the system disk?

    Hello

I wanted to delete some files on the external hard drive. He cannot because of the write protected. So, I had to go to the registry editor. HKeylocalMachine-> system-> CurrentControlSet-> control-> StorageDevicePolicies. That is protected with DataSet '0' means write-enabled. If I change the value "1" is disabled. Having administrator rights, it can activate and disable write protection. But when I allow it, it does not appear the disk write protected when deleting message.

My only concern if someone uses the system, if they accidentally delete the file, it would be a big problem. I ask you please tell me the procedure on how to set writing disc protected by default. Which would be really appreciated if you can tell me the method.

Operating system: - Windows XP MCE - 32-bit

    Thank you very much.

  • Events shown in the range of navigation when you view the properties of the system for recording of JFR

Which record the events shown in the range of navigation when you view the Properties tab system for a Java flight recorder? I'm guessing that they mark the time for JFR's writing of the events on the disk.

I ask because, during the capture of a lot of information with the help of JFR, we see two effects that correlate with these events: (1) CPU usage ramps up a little bit between an event and the back then, level departure after each event, even if the application workload is constant; (2) the clock used to time stamp on all the events THAT JFR capture high-resolution seems to run more slowly in the period following immediately each of these events, perhaps for the period while JFR is written to disk. The slowdown of the clock appears as an increase in the rate of events shown in the range of navigation in other tabs - I also analyzed the events selected out of the original EN file to check their apparent rate.

I see this on Java EE applications running on JBoss EAP 6.x on Java 7 on machines virtual small vSphere.

The events shown in the navigotor range in any time must appear at the same time they are created. not when they are written to disk which can be a little later, depending on the settings.

In the System Properties tab, you generally see a single spike per segment in your record. You should see the same thing if you go to the tabgroup events and enable only the Java Virtual Machine system property / Initial if Types discovered.

As for the damages of its use and CPU timestamp, it sounds interesting.

What exact version of Java 7 you use, there would be some bug fixes in later versions.

    • I have no recovery disks!

    Hello:

I can't help with your problem, because in this case, my recommendation would be to reinstall the operating system.

What I can do, is give you information to get a set of recovery discs for your xw4400 for only $10 USD.

    Here's how:

    1. Enter the part number and the serial number on the top of the computer on the Silver label. The model # is a Compaq HP xw4400, but the part number is on this tag silver under the serial No.

    2. call HP at 1-800-952-7689, option 1 (ranking in the list in the option made restore disks).

    3. provide the information asked by the representative who answers the phone. Some simply ask for the serial No., some want at the same time, or they'll want just the serial number and the type of computer (xw4400).

    4. do you have a Master Card or Visa ready for purchase. They do not take discover. You will be charged $10.00.

You will receive the discs by first class mail, or you can pay an additional $10.00 for shipping FedEx.

The tab System Protection in system properties, which gives you options of system restore, there is a system volume that looks like there's a number of clsid.

It is outside the usual partitions. Is this normal? It does not appear in Windows Explorer.

The machine is quarantined and not visit the internet more, so I can't give you the screenshot. But it's the name of the folder:

\\?\Volume{d331125c-e4fe-11E1-B1EB-806e6f6e6963}\  Below these are the partitions C: and E:, I created the disk during a recent clean install. The new internal drive is a WD 320 GB Scorpio.

Previously, Windows wouldn't start and gave me a hardware error. I took the bottom of the laptop, reinstall the memory, hard drive and DVD - RW, it blew out and everything close up. It works fine now.

However, I also had a problem of malware with Rimecud! INF, DelfInject.gen! BE and DelfInject.gen! AF, which is the reason why I ask this question. This file would be a remnant of malware? I wiped the disk four times.

System protection is turned on for the C: partition that is NTFS.

I note that the Protection system is OFF for recovery D:

The recovery partition didn't need a letter drive, because nothing in Windows use it.  You use the recovery partition by pressing a special key combination when the computer starts.  For more details, refer to the User Guide for your computer. Boulder computer Maven

  • 10.6.8 performer must update on 10.7 or more but the system only tells me no update available

I'm on 10.6.8 update on my iMac, but require 10.7 or higher for the installation of the printer - my search for Mac update tells me no update is available. How updated?

Open the Mac App Store and try to download El Capitan. If you get told that it is incompatible with your computer or not desired, choose about this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or CPU Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) and 2 GB of RAM, and if this is the case, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7; the Apple Online Store also sells codes for 10.8 Mountain Lion to download, but it has the same system requirements as El Capitan.

Back up your data and control your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer do not support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

  • 2 available drives on the points of RECOVERY and OS (C) of the system and restore the protection settings

Greetings! I am very confused and need help. Looking for just my restore points.

I am interested in the protection of the system, I clicked on the system protection and under the protection option I

available from 2 discs on protection RECOVERY settings (it looks like folder sign) and OS (c :)) system)

    Protection of RECOVERY: off

OPERATING SYSTEM (C :)) System Protection is enabled. I clicked on configure I activated the setting to restore system and previous version of the files. Maximum use of 2% (10,00 GB), use current 962,89 MB

Now, my question is this, if recovery protection be ON? When I click on configure, check "turn off system protection"

What is the right configuration? Help, please. I hope I'm not confusing you either.

No, do not turn on System Protection for the system recovery disk. Which is locked and should only be used when you need to do a factory restore (that reinstalls the operating system). Just keep the System Restore enabled for the system partition on which your Windows installation exist. Releasing it's easy: with Windows | ActiveWin | Laptops | Microsoft MVP
