• No support for Windows Live ID support to validate my ownership of the Hotmail account despite me providing a lot of information

  After having been locked out of my account without any warning Hotmail, I answered the questions revalidation as well as provide a lot of additional specific information that ANYONE would be able to use to validate my landlord if they really tried, but for some reason, all I get are the SAME automated messages, saying: I have not provided the necessary information.  What do I need to get an answer, courteous and thoughtful of someone who of really watching my information and can offer REAL HELP?

  Impossible to delete some messages. Some are in the same domain. Should be spam. The settings have not been changed.

  To solve the problem, I signed in Microsoft Outlook.com and managed to delete messages as well as notify Microsoft about junk e-mail. So far, when you use Windows live mail, I received an email from the same source as before and was able to remove it.

  One possible way to solve this problem is to refresh the web filtering settings for your child by turning and then by following the steps below:

  1. connect to https://fss.live.com using your Parent account.
  2. click on change settings under the user name of your child.
  3. request for Web filtering, check the Disable web content filtering , and then Save.
  4 tick to enable web filtering you can adjust the slider to different settings.
  5. Save.

  After completing the steps above, remember to refresh the client of parental control to update changes made via the Family Safety website. To update the client, click the icon with the 2 arrows found in the upper right.

  In addition, if you use select custom to allow and block Web site category please make sure that the domain of the Web site is included (.com, .net, or .org). Let us know what happens then.

The situation is as follows: 3 months ago my gamer tag profile/windows live has been compromised by a hacker and my windows. I was told all of "your email address is in your database" even if the hotline has pulled up my account and proved that it is... to the repetition to change your password... And it does not work.   All I got is "reset your access code to retrieve your account windows live." I can change the access code... but it is STILL BLOCKED and do not leave me due to password successfully changed and continues to send me to the "your account is temporarily blocked. Can someone PLEASE contact me to resolve this problem. Change the password for the account DO NOT UNLOCK.

• Where my pictures go after I change them? Recently, they disappear after being edited on Windows Live Gallery.

  Open Windows Explorer.

  On the toolbar, click organize / Foldr and Search Options.

  Click the View tab.

  Select display the drives, folders and hidden files.

  ID WIndows Live ID is just a login name that you use for Windows Live servers.  It takes the form of an e-mail address.  All Hotmail addresses are identifiers WIndows Live ID.  All live.com addresses are identifiers WIndows Live ID.  You can also use any address as a Windows Live ID, I think that, as long as it's an email address valid and you can receive mail at the address.

  Mail aliases are usually e-mail addresses that map to the same mailbox under another address.  This means that sending mail to one of the alias book that mail to the mailbox.  PC can have aliases in both domain name Service.  This means that several names can map to the same IP address in the domain name service so that we can use one of the aliases to access a particular system.  Somehow, it's no different than a person with aliases.

  My father has just recently bought a new laptop with Windows 7. He can not send emails to anyone other than addresses on the same domain "telus.net" 554 Relay access denied error. He can receive e-mail. I spoke with PSI & they have recorded in a verified Live Mail is correctly configured. I searched the internet for solutions and have tried a number of suggestions:

  • Delete & recreate his account of email 4 times. Still does not work
  • Checked & unchecked outgoing e-mail server requires authenitcation - does not work
  • Change the outgoing mail port number - does not work
  • Disable Norton - does not work

  The incoming mail server is pop.telus.net

  Outgoing mail server is smtp.telus.net

  Outgoing e-mail server requires authentication according to ISP

  Outgoing mail port is 25

  Incoming mail port is 110

  The only other thing I've heard is that there may be a problem with Norton. I turned it off & it still does not, but I have not uninstalled because I don't know if it has the original disc to reinstall if need be.

• Windows Live brings my IE7 and Chrome give up...

  Whenever I try to access any email through my Live Id login, IE (like Google Chrome) seem to give up after a few seconds in hotmail.  In the case of Chrome that I first get an error 'unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occurred in the application at location 0x08e55639)' then if I click on cancel or OK Chrome then quits.  If I do not click on the box that it seems to work very well.  IE 7 will also sometimes give the same error message box but mostly just closes all tabs and stops.  This error only occurs when I sign into Live Id for e-mail.  Works fine with all other navigation.

  Any ideas on what I might try?  I rebooted Chrome and update patches to IE7 without success on either.  I can't move to IE8 or 9 yet until we get our people IT OK as they are yet to check with our internal applications...
