PS3 media sharing with windows 7

OK, I've seen some quesitons on threads with the PS3 does not share is not with vista.

I have recently upgraded to windows 7. Before I upgraded I was using windows vista home. I had not a single problem getting my PS3 to share then. Once I upgraded my system to windows 7, I can't have the media sharing to work.

Is it because the PS3 doesn't have an option to connect to the homegroup yet?

I see in the media sharing devices, if I selet "all the networks" it will come as an unknown device. If there is a way to get windows 7 to recognize the PS3 as a media valid and peripheral network share please let me know.

Hello wand,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Ansers forum! You should be able to take the following steps to enable the media to share between your PS3 and your Windows 7 operating system:

Go to Control Panel > network and sharing Center > advance change sharing settings

Then you must make sure that:

- Network discovery is on
- Printer & file sharing is turned on

After that, click on media streaming options

In the bar of menu display devices , select all networks

You should see some unknown devices/peripherals.

Double click on each unknown device to see the MAC address of the device

Find the device that corresponds to the MAC address of your PS3 and allow this multimedia sharing device

Hope this helps J

  • Satellite A300-1OM - Media sharing with XBox 360

I'll have some real problems share my media with my Xbox 360 using my home wireless network.

I used to connect my 360 to the internet via internet sharing with my laptop connected via Ethernet. I now borrow a wireless adapter for the 360 that still lets connect me to the internet on the 360, but I can no longer access my portable music library or find a PC Windows Media Centre when searching for the network on my 360.

My laptop is running Windows 7 64 bit. When I display 'network' appears from my own laptop, my second laptop computer connected to the network is also shown, and the 360 is also indicated in the devices section of media. Under 'Options of Streaming Media' my 360 is also listed and given full access to my portable media.

When my laptop is connected directly to my 360 via Ethernet the music library and video library works great, like Windows Media Center.

Anyone know of any solution to this problem? I guess it will just be a problem with some settings on my laptop as opposed to a problem with my Xbox. Any advice much appreciated!

    Hey bradleyheap,

To be honest it is very difficult to answer your question. In my opinion, you should ask question biotechnology in Xbox forum o somewhere else. I think that it is not related to Toshiba

Anyway, if everything works with the LAN cable, you should check the firewall options. Try turning off the Windows Firewall and update the driver WLAN from your laptop.

Sorry, but everything that s what I can say at the moment.

  • can I media share with Windows 7 and Windows Vista?

I have a computer that has Windows 7 on it, and my sister has a computer with Windows Vista. We can share files, if so how?

    Hi the Itallien Stallion,

You can share files and folders in many different ways. The most common way to share files in Windows is to share them directly from your computer. Windows provides two methods for sharing files in this way: you can share files from any folder on your computer or from the Public folder. Method you use depends on where you want to store the shared folders, that you want to share with, and the degree of control you want to have the files. Or the alternative method allows you to share files or folders with someone using your computer or another computer on the same network. If you are looking for other ways to share, this article also has several other methods that you can use.

Once the computers are connected to the network, you can share your files and folders.

Windows Media Player has adjustments for brightness and contrast.
Just go to... View / improvements / video settings... the sliders for
carry out the adjustment should appear at the bottom of your screen.

If you want to permanently adjust the brightness of your video clips
You'd have to import in a video editor. If the clips are
compatible with Movie Maker you can use.

Once the video is imported into Movie Maker drag it to the timeline

  • How to use Windows media player with the windows Task Scheduler (7)?

Original title: why it is so difficult... question of windows media player 12

You want to use Windows media player with windows (7) Task Scheduler.   We have a pc, everything that appears on the screen is also pumped to our community cable channel, normally a slideshow in loop is the show, however, sometimes via a scheduler interrupt the slideshow to play a video (say a video of our last Board of Directors meeting) and to make videos, ideally the slideshow returns.

Using Microsoft software, in this case, Windows Media Player v12.0.7601.18150, Task Scheduler 1.0, two things must happen.

1 Task Scheduler launch a video in fullscreen / top of window.

    2. when the video is finished, wmp is closed.

Well, 1 works fine.  The Task Manager launching wmp in full screen.  And a framework of wmp switches to allow a session of wmp be on top.

However, a short time after launch wmp cut the screen down to a smaller version.

And 2. closure of WMP fails to occur.  He remains on the screen waiting for human input.

    Any input appreciated.

    Charlie

For "cuts WMP down to a smaller version", right click on the video game (during playback) and deselect ' auto Player size to contain video.

For number 2, define your point of Task Scheduler task for the "end of task after X minutes" and therefore the value of X.  Then it will kill the instance of running Media Player after a large number of minutes.  So, it will absolutely immediately when the video is done playing, but it will be within 60 seconds and will be at least to remove WMP and let your slideshow be visible again.
