• Purchase of PSE 14 instead of the upgrade of the PSE 13 questions

  I want to improve my PSE 13 to 14 of PSE, but it's cheaper to buy it just to the right. So my question is do I have different programs or if it comes to unite? If it's separate programs, how to transfer all my tags and photos on my new program? should I delete my old program before you download my other or wait until after? I really need help because I want the deal they offer for pre-blackFriday.

  You have both the old version and the new version on your computer, regardless if you buy the program or simply purchase the upgrade. Install the new version does not erase the old.

• Damaged or missing the Adobe Application Manager

  When I start PES 13 I get a message that:

  Clicking ok starts the photo editing software and the PSE 13 seems to work ok. However, I can't successfully download updates. This problem started when I was running Windows 7.1. I have recently upgraded Windows 10, removed PSE 13, downloaded and re-installed in the environment Windows 10. The message at startup again and I still can't successful upgrades. Appreciate advice on how to fix.

  The error message generated by the attempts to upgrade:

  Update Adobe Photoshop elements 13.1

  There was an error downloading this update. Quit and try again later. Error code: U43M1D207

  I have successfully solve my problems today after reading some related problems. The solution came to me when windows wouldn't let me not delete old files PSE 8 left in the Programs(x86) /Adobe. folder Windows says a file or files are used by an open application and therefore did not deletions. Therefore suggested to me that Photoshop Elements 8 can not completely completely uninstalled and was interfering with the functioning of the Applications Adobe handler.

  The story of my experience is that I was running windows 7 (64-bit) and used the PSE 8. When I bought the PSE 13 I installed without removing the PSE 8 to be sure that the PSE 13 would work first. It worked but I got the errors mentioned above, that is to say, missing or damaged Applications manager not able to install updates. I uninstalled PSE 8 but which did not correct these problems. Subsequently, I've updated to Windows 10 (64-bit) and the PSE 13 questions suite.

  Today, the solution was to:

  1. uninstall all Adobe software, including Adobe Flash, Adobe reader as well as PES 10

  2. restart the computer

  3 used CCleaner to remove remaining references to the Adobe programs deleted in the Windows registry. This required 3-4 passes.

  4 restart the computer

  5 removed as much of the PSE 8 files in the folder Programs(x86)/Adobe/Photoshop Elements 8 that would allow Windows. It's all files with the exception of a font file Windows indicated was still used by an open application.

  6 restart the computer

  7A ran the registry CCleaner cleaner again and this time there were several references to the Photoshop Elements 8 license that were deleted file. This required only one pass of CCleaner, I think.

  8 restart the computer

  9. download and install 10 PSE using the user to the administrator for Windows 10. Then downloaded and installed update 10.1 PSE.

  PES 10 now works with the error messages now at startup and updates work

• Color profile question from lightroom to PSE 12.

  After changing for Windows 10 I find that the color profile is deleted when opening a file from Lightroom 6 to 12 of PSE.  I also get an error message when you try to load a 12 for 8.5 RAW update.  The error reads U44M1I210.  If anyone can help with the problem.

  Ok. What is the setting in Lightroom under preferences > external editing > color space? Here you have the choice between sRGB, Adobe RGB and ProPhoto. The default is ProPhoto, and unless you have changed, it is how it opens in the external editor (in your case, PES).

  If you view while in an another viewer of photos without color management, color will be away (dark and desaturated).

  Now, there may be color settings of the specific items that can strip or convert this profile, so I would still recommend that go. All I can do here is to take the floor for Lightroom and Photoshop.

• Install new PSE / uninstall old. Question of what's going on with the old Organizer and catalog files. MacOS

  Currently have installed PSE10 and install PSE11 on Mac OS 10.6.8 snow leopard.

  I don't understand how to download and install PSE11 and convert the Organizer.  I intend to leave PSE10 installation in place while I install PSE11 and if all goes well with the conversion would be to uninstall PSE10.

  Currently, organizer of PSE10 records are currently here on my mac:

  / Users/xxxx/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Elements/10.0/Organizer

  and

  / Users/xxxx/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Elements/10.0/Catalog

  So my question is what happens to the files above when you install PSE11 with PSE10 at the same time?

  When PSE10 is uninstalled using the uninstall program "adobe" deleted these files?  If you want to continue to use just the new PSE11, which is the recommendation about the deletion or to leave these files if they are not removed by the uninstall adobe program?

  Are there any suggestions or things I should know about this process?

  PSE10 and PSE11 can be installed at the same time. They are independent programs.

  PSE11 will install its own catalogues and invites you to "convert" your current PSE11 catalog.

  A new catalog is a new catalog subfolder will be created at the same level as the old catalog.

  If you agree to the conversion, the old catalog (where the name of the folder catalog) will be renamed with the suffix-1. It will work with PSE10 without any intervention on your part.

  The new catalog will acquire the same name as the old catalog.

  You can work with PSE10 or PSE11 with their own catalogues.

  You know if a catalogue record is on version PSE10 or PSE11 when you use catalog for the conversion Manager. You can also watch inside the catalog folder and look at the name of database catalog: catalog.pse10db or catalog.pse11db.

  (Keep in mind that what is modified or updated to date in a catalog is ignored by the other, this is true for the different catalogs in PSE10, the same goes for the catalogs on both versions).

  If you uninstall PSE10, PSE10 catalogues are not changed or deleted. They are still available for the conversion of a later version... or if you want to reinstall PSE10.

  The catalog files don't take up much space. As explained above, they can be kept for most conversions. If you have more than one catalog, only the current upgrade time is converted. You must convert the others manually via the button "Catalog Manager".

• PSE8 question: PSE opens my files but the bridge is not

  I downloaded an update PSE8 allowing PSE read files from my Sony Alpha A550. PSE is satisfied with the A550 but bridge can import files, can not read. It displays a generic thumbnail for them and will not open Camera Raw. What can we do?

  Bridge cannot be updated as much as PSE can. When CS5 is out, bridge CS4 (which is what you have in PSE 8) was cut off from all other updates. Make sure that you don't have the latest update available by going to help > updates to bridge and let it update itself, but if it's not far enough, then there is no way to get thumbnails or do raw through bridge conversion.

• PSE 8.0 (Mac) - scrolling and Magnifying a picture questions

  I wonder if other people have similar problems with PSE 8.0. I use PSE 8.0 on a laptop MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6).

  1. I'm not able to use the "left arrow" (I'm not sure of the technical term) to scroll an image.  Upwards, downwards and to the right the arrows move the image, but does not have the arrow to the left. Very weird!

  2. in an older version of the EP, I was able to type in the magnification that I wanted, (e.g., 150%, 200%, 400%).  In PSE 8.0, the magnification dialog box will allow me to type a number in, but it won't change the magnification of the image.  I have to use the +/-buttons or the associated cursor that are not as specific to type in a magnification level desired.

  Are there other users of problems similar to this, or should I consider unloading and then reloading the software?

• Question PSE 14 Album organization?

  I'm new to PES. I have a problem when I take pictures from the organizer and put in an Album. Everything what I see online that I should be able to move and organize my photos. The tutorials online to show every inch nail has space between them and you can move them. My albums, I'm trying to create, the photos are all close together, and I can't do anything with them, very frustrating. I have tried for days to figure out but must be missing something. Can you please help.

  Ya that's what I did, if I click once it just starts to do something dashed as if I was preparing a harvest on a photo. Then I click twice and I'll get the circle with a line in it as if she will allow me to drag and drop, but when I drop it, it disappears and nothing changes, almost it as a lock on it. Totally weird. I had my friends computer watch and they look up and follow the instructions, but in vain.

• I don't have any Javascript code in FIREFOX (even if it is enabled in preferences) but have it in Safari. What I can do in pse?

  I have Mac OS X (Version 10.6.8). I last Firefox AND have already tried to download Javascript TWICE. Why have I not
  JavaScript on Safari, but not Firefox? How can I fix this pse?

  A lot of JavaScript functionality was killed in Firefox 7.0.1 and this includes type it or paste javascript into the location bar (address bar). You had to jump through hoops to Firefox 6 - now there is no viable solution for a lot of what we do.

  Alternatives within Firefox that could allow you to interfere with that by are quite insufficient, I would stick with what works for you, for the moment,

  • JavaScript command works not in the address bar. Firefox Support Forum | Firefox help

  6 javascript in the url bar from Firefox works with a principal null for security reasons. In other words, that it is almost off. You need a bookmarklet or an add-on for a workaround. See question 871828.

  The main features of the AwesomeBar of Firefox have been compromised so that the search for bookmarks in the sidebar bar, library or the location is not reliable.
  You could always turn off JavaScript and had some limitations if you wait or ran into trouble before, but now Firefox works just fine and it is all the more infuriating when you find out that most of the disorders resulted from stripping the code that translates errors slowing things down and now in the blocking of the features you would expect in a browser.

• PSE 14 vs MacOS Sierra

  Dear experts,

  I have been using PSE 14 for several months under Captain El - so far no problem. Today I installed MacOS Sierra - after that it is impossible to start the Organizer in PSE 14, it's the message

  Photoshop Elements is already running but is not responding. To open a new instance, you must first close the current process of Photoshop Elements, or restart your system.

  That's not true, PSE is not running, the system reboots doesn´t help. However, it is possible to start the PES Editor.

  Today three questions:

  1. If I select these layers two text and choose the alignment: Middle, PSE moves from two of them. How I would say PES to move a single layer (by aligning under the other)?

  

  2. when I typed the text in these layers, PSE put the uppercase letters, independently of the police. How did this happen and how to cancel it?

  3. when I choose the crop tool, PSE implements a departure for the crop rectangle. I don't want that - I want to start over. I know that I can click on the tool button crop again to the way I want, but is possible to have it default to any rectangle?

  Try to use the lock icon just to the right of 'the eye' for a layer. The second layer should align based on this position.

  1. is it possible to get rid of the task bars that I have drawn autour ellipses? I rarely use them and would rather have the space.

  

  2. in the reference doc, there are more icons in the space indicated by the arrow. How can I customize this space?

  3. in the resizing of an image, 98% of the time I want to do in percent. Is it possible to do that by default? I could handle this with a keyboard macro, but the pixels to percent drop is not accessible via the keyboard. Solution?

  These settings are not 'sticky', unfortunately.

  Two ways: either as a tool option online, or by choosing a type of arrow in the menu (hotkey U) forms.

  Edit:

  The #1 question, my choice is to use the Preferences menu and select 'allow documents floating in expert mode. Allows you to use the screen for editing, which is recommended when you master the main shortcuts. Another tip: the 'tab' key hides the side panels.

• PSE 14 Surface Pro 4 scaling

  I have 11 PES and installed it on my new Surface Pro 4 but the user interface and the text is too small to see which I know is a problem that I controlled the many posts about it. My question is, if I switch to PSE user interface 14 will appear as usual on my screen high definition?

  You can test by you even: just download the trial version.

  Support for the hidpi screens has been added since PSE13.

  I would recommend testing times editor and organizer.

  The editor automatically adjusts to your display, while the Organizer must be set the windows display settings to display more text fonts.

  Don't spill coffee on your keyboard.  I did and now it seems that I'm doomed.  Convicted because I didn't have my data and files saved?  NO, because I have all the files backed up, including my backup files and catalog collection Photoshop and of many photo 6 000 extended.   I'm doomed because (silly me!) I was perfectly happy with PSE v5 and never buy updates.  Why would I be if I had all the features I needed and had survived 2 transitions of operating system that the evil empire imposed on me.  (previously only the evil empire)

  The computer ruin has been dedicated to my Photos, so I bought the same computer (a refurb) with the same OS (Win 7 Pro 64 bit).  I went to Adobe .com, signed into my account and confirmed that my PSE v5 has been recorded (good) and then, Opps!   Not only I can't find this v5 is not available (file server is not available, but I suspect that the software is) but, no more support (they send me here) and my catalog file (file type NO dowry) was changed in Version 6 and if you want to convert your pre 6 catalog had to do this in version 6 , which, oh by the way is no longer available.

  Fast forward through the details of sessions 5 'chat' with Support from Adobe and sales.   Some of them for hours. The best they can do is advise me to buy 14 PES.

  Now, I realized what is happening when you depend on software to filter and manage files with 6 000 unrecognizable names.  I got here by accident or design?

  Resigned to my fate I went to the Adobe order page, came out of the old credit card and...  Not yet, I have still a few question.

  Question: 1 - I can buy an upgrade instead of the complete installation if my new PC does not have the V5?

  Answer: They can't.  Go to the forums.

  Issue 3: if I am satisfied with the v14 I'll be able to keep or if they pull the "upgrade or die ' on me?  (I don't have the phrase like this ) J )

  By default, the catalog records 'hidden '. You must set your preferences folders to "Show hidden files" in Windows Explorer.

  Yes, you can use the Explorer to move the folders from catalog where you want (except in the same folder of your multimedia files tree).

  2. can I change the name of "catalog"?

  Yes, from the browser or from the Catalog Manager.

  3. should I keep the whole folder structure?

  If you mean that the structure of the catalog files, you normally don't change anything, except to remove the thumbnail cache. Normally, removal of other components as the .pseXXdb database file is possible, most is rebuilt automatically. In desperate cases, keeping only the file .pseXXdb can save most of your organization and the marking.

  4. can I open the application directly from the catalog file?

  Yes, by double-clicking the catalog.pse13db file.

  5. can I I name the Parent folder (one containing the catalog and other folders) all I want and get rid of the excess above records.

  Yes, but you may need to use Catalog Manager to navigate to the changed location.

• Organizer of the PSE 14 create pictures twice on HARD drive

  In fact, what happens when I import photos from an image folder on my hard drive in 14 PSE Organizer?  Is it creates copies of these files?  Where on my drive hard Organizer stores its imports?

  This is a common situation and generally elements users begin using the Organizer only when they really feel the need for a more powerful organization.   It's true in general, but there may be good reasons to separate your files in different folders or different disks and volumes. If you have your photos on multiple disks, you can keep a single catalog and manage everything. It's perhaps a good solution to get more disk space.

  With the Organizer, you also have the choice to separate your photos in different catalogues. It is a choice with the following main rules:

  -different catalogs are ok (and recommended) for totally different activities (personal professional vs...)

  -different catalogs are NOT the solution to work faster. Size of the catalogue is negligible for speed.

  -You can easily merge or split catalogs.

  I should also mention that if you have reasons to prefer a folder with a navigation software organization, you can use Adobe Bridge:
