• PSE8 question: PSE opens my files but the bridge is not

  I downloaded an update PSE8 allowing PSE read files from my Sony Alpha A550. PSE is satisfied with the A550 but bridge can import files, can not read. It displays a generic thumbnail for them and will not open Camera Raw. What can we do?

  Bridge cannot be updated as much as PSE can. When CS5 is out, bridge CS4 (which is what you have in PSE 8) was cut off from all other updates. Make sure that you don't have the latest update available by going to help > updates to bridge and let it update itself, but if it's not far enough, then there is no way to get thumbnails or do raw through bridge conversion.

  If billl_dttm is a DATE, then do not compare to a sttring, such as ' 06 - SEP - 2010 "." Always compare it to another DATE, like the vlue returned by TO_DATE.

• PSE Organizer 12 crashes constantly after the film project in first 12

  I have PSE 12 time Organizer and first. I finished a film project after all first programme of work up to a slide show in the Organizer, but when I tried to burn my dvd does not recognize my burner (which is HL-DT-ST GH24NS50 SC if of LG) so I burned in a folder. Then I tried to burn with Windows DVD maker and burner of Wondershare video which none recognized the files containing the titles of movies & scene intro-s. A 2nd problem has also developed during the process of completion of the project. Now my PSE Organizer crashes as soon as it loads the media, so I am now virtually locked out of my photos. The only new files added to the organizer since I started this project are those who come first i.e. stories etc. Can anyone suggest a way to fix these problems. Thank you

  Thank you for your response. I downloaded Image burn but have not yet had the opportunity to try it. I'll try it out tomorrow so to try to get the first to recognize my drive that is faster and up to date.

  My computer is a computer of Windows 7 64 bit with 8 GB of RAM and loads of free disk space. I suspect my programs are still the original 12 version, but I tried to invoke any update in the past. It seems that they must not have worked.

  On the problem of the Organizer, I deleted the psa.prf file you suggested but who could not make all the difference: the program quits immediately after its launch. It is still not open long enough for me to create a new catalog.

  You have any other suggestions? And thanks again for your help so far.

  To start, I read in countless discussions here on iPhoto glitches and patches, so I hope I'm not repeating this question, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere I had a question after question with iPhoto (mainly around several accidents after organizing photos into albums that made the album organization and this issue I describe below) and is considering moving to Adobe Bridge just to have a reliable place to store my photos without worrying about the constant pain. I realize that no program is immune to glitches, but the volume and the frequency that I've had with iPhoto is unmatched (which led me to wonder if it is just a user error, but I honestly can't understand for the life of me). So I describe my current number below, in the hope of resolving the issue so that either A. I can fix and give iPhoto a chance more or B can I ensure that my photos are safe and intact before transfer to another program.

  Some of my iPhoto albums appear empty with no sticker and say '0' when I fly over the album, but the photos are there when I open the album. I have rebuilt the thumbnails, and it has not solved the problem. After the other issues that I had with iPhoto crashes, I made sure that all updates have been installed. Unfortunately, I don't remember if I've rebuilt or repaired the database, but it seems that all my photos are present, all mixed together and some showing in the albums 'empty '. Here's my question: is one problem, other than being boring? And should I switch to another program, or have I missed something?

  A few details:

  • I have rebuilt thumbnails today and it took 5.5 hours. It seems completing without problem, but has not solved the problem.

  • I have my computer fully backed up on an external drive to Seagate drive as Mac OS extended (journaled) as well as iPhoto backed up separately on the drive as well.

  • Looks like I have a "library" and "alias."

  • I use iPhoto to organize my photos. I use Photoshop to edit. I love the feel of iPhoto, but I lost hours and hours trying to organize and solve problems.

  • I use iPhoto 11 version 9.4.3 OSX 10.8.5 / / MacBook Pro processor 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

  More worrying is the issue of the repeated questions. How you use iPhoto and Photoshop together?

  Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its function of reconstruction. (In early versions of the Library Manager, this is the file-> control Rebuild. In versions later it is under the menu library.)

  Sometimes the popup asking if you want to convert your earlier version catalog does not appear. Then you must use the Organizer catalogue orders and go find your catalog from the previous version, then use the choice to perform the conversion (upgrade) it.

  Conversion (update) your catalog will retain the Collections that you had defined in PSE 5 as PSE 8 Albums (as you know). A disadvantage of the use of the tags as a substitute for Clollections/Albums, it is that he will not retain any special sequence that you have defined for the individual Collections in PSE 5.

  Note: It is recommended to perform a cleanup of your catalog of PSE 5 using your software for PSE 5 BEFORE opening the PSE 8 and do the Convert/upgrade catalog at level.

• keep the structure photo albums on iPhone

  I have the albums placed inside the albums in my Mac Photos app. When it syncs to my iOS devices, the structure of the album is lost. They all show upwards, but not in the albums of umbrella.   I've seen the question nested here album before and unfortunately there is no way to preserve them, only albums are synchronized to the Photos of iOS.

  Right click on a place empty and try the option "Group by", which groups them by date.  For example, all changed yesterday is in a group of "yesterday".

  Profile DNF: seeding of customization Mode allows or restricts editing, but it does not level organization itself. In fact, I always found the reason for the question. Level of Organization for customizations of web is available for responsibilities who MO: operational unit profile is set to the top anyway thanks a lot for all useful psychology profile :-)

• Organization and tagging in Lightroom vs PES? The Cloud?

  There is not "best" overall. Two programs are good things and 'not so good' things, and you should try to see which suits you best.

  Marking distance (and edition remotely) has been discussed several times in this forum, but since these applications have been designed as a single-user application, all the methods proposed are somewhat of a workaround and may be bit tedious and detailed.

  Outsourcing in the Philippines... Well, I have no experience on it.

  I read many comments from engineers who have passed the 5-vcap-dca exam. Can I group the items into two categories: configuration and administration? Some engineers said, they went through all the tasks configuration first and I went back and went through the administration/troubleshooting section. Should I just go through it in order?   Go through review tacking questions you can, make a note of any questions that you have to look in the documentation.

  Note that most of the questions have several parts you must complete all parts that you can and write down what you can not.

  Then go back and work on those that you need to search in the documentation provided.

  The review aims to be attempted in the order and is not intended to be divided into different categories (troubleshooting/create/admin). Questions about the review perhaps all three of these "categories"... and you will not be able to identify all the troubleshooting questions until you try them.

  Read all the questions, take notes and categorizing will take 10-20 minutes.  Keep in mind with the number of questions and the time limit you have about 8 min per question.  If your organization takes the place of finish ~ two questions.  What is the difference between pass and fail to many candidates.

  In about 5 years, I've never used Organizer, other than to clean it out several times, for projects that have been completed.

  I do like you do and organize my assets on my system. Also, for each project, create a folder under the folder structure root of the project and for the assets, copy all the inventory files to the appropriate subfolder, for example Audio, video or still Images. Then, when the project is finished, I can just delete record of this project, and all subfolder are deleted with it.

  Other than to answer questions on this forum, organizer is launched on twice a year.

  For my cataloguing, I use ThumbsPlus, or Adobe Bridge of my Production Studio.

  You should be very well, and I am reassured to see that I'm not the only person who does not have too much to the Organizer.
