  I've seen posts where they say to turn off Muse by clicking Help, and then search and type disable.  This must have been a previous version of Muse because I have no search option in using my menu drop-down.  How can I solve this problem?

  Hi Ed,

  You try to install the program by running it as administrator and check if that helps.

  1. to start the program as an administrator

  2. right click on the file to install the program

  3. Select run as administrator

  Now check if help.

  If this does not help, you can try to temporarily disable UAC (User Account Control), and then try to install the program and check if that helps.

• UAC - alert "Unknown Publisher" with the programs Microsoft and system settings after FixIt 50202

  I had some problems with the list of Windows Update or vacuum . Since a simple reboot did not help in my case, I searched and found FixIt 50202 - "How to reset the Windows Update components?"

  I have run the fix as soon as some time ago and it solved the problem. However, the problem came back after a month or two, I decided to run again, this time in (OH!) in aggressive mode.

  The problem has been resolved again, but after restart of UAC began to invite for each single action that requires elevation, even those who should fall under the "changes that I do" class. Officially my UAC settings have not changed, and I tried moving them around, restart and so on.

  What I get for each single program or setting requiring an elevation is the UAC dialog box asking "do you want to allow the following program from a Unknown Publisher to make changes to this computer?

  An example?  The services, i.e. services.msc, no dialog as

  Program name: mmc.exe

  Publisher: unknown

  Original file: hard drive on this computer

  UAC or my system, lost the ability to recognize the signature of Microsoft? Any tweak registry to fix this?

  Among the measures taken by FixIt 50202 there

  • Rename the following files to *. BAK: [...] %systemroot%\system32\catroot2

  For what I understand, this folder contains the catalogues of security installed on the system, including the signatures of files and com objects and certification info. Rename/delete then was not a choice safe and left me without signatures during most of the windows exectuables.

  I tried these files on the Windows 7 DVD, and I could not find them. However, using 7zip I could browse through the archives install.wim on the dvd and extract the contents of the catroot2 directory. Copy this file to the cd did the trick:

  C:\Windows\System32\catroot2\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}\catdb

  The file has been locked by encryption Services, so I had to stop the service, replace the file and restart the service.

  I have still some files that appear as "Unsigned" using sigcheck *, which I suppose were not part of the initial installation. I hope that the problem will be resolved with future updates, but now think are working normally again.

  Thanks for the comments.  I am running VISTA.  I think I solved in a different way.  I went to: tools-internet options-security-and moved the security level slider all down in "security for this area.  He then installed the software unknown Publisher and I now work sensitivity sliders.  I moved the security level slider to where it was after installing the software and things seem fine.  Everything seems to work, and I'm getting the movement detection alerts by e-mail.  I get them when there is no apparent movement.  I also get email alerts when there is movement.  I get 3 or 4 no alert of movement every few hours.  I'll play with the sliders of sensitivity to see if that helps.

  Thanks PCalaminci. I got exactly the same error and same configuration (Win10 x 64 with bitlocker active). The solution is as PCalaminci suggests: temporarily disable the driver signature digital verfifaction (looks like HP delivered a driver with a valid Publisher unknown/no signature that is the cause of the installation of the bomb).

  Note: To temporarily disable checking of driver (on Windows 10) signing it is easier...

  1. In Windows, go to PC settings (you can search for it in the start menu).
  2. Click on 'update & recovery' on the left side.
  3. Click on "Recovery" on the left side.
  4. Click "Restart now" button under Advanced Boot.
  5. Select Troubleshooting-> advanced-> startup parameters and press Restart
  6. Press the number corresponding to the entry 7 "disable driver signature enforcement".
  7. Install the drivers. After your system restarts again once you won't able to install any unsigned drivers until you repeat steps 1-6.

  Above works even if you have your hard drive encrypted with bitlocker (you need not type in your recovery key).

• Get spinning on HTML5 output.

  We have published several HTML5 (no SWF) courses in the past with no problems, but today when I went to see a preview of a new course on SCORMCloud, all I get is a spinning wheel while trying to display the course of HTML5 in IE9. I re-edited and downloaded the last course, that we have created and it has worked very well. I also deleted the cache Captivate and reissued, but that has not worked. It seems therefore that the course specifically. I use widgets or something like that and there's nothing in HTML5 tracker. All audio and video are in format MP3 96 Kbps.

  It's tedious, but you can avoid to rebuild from scratch.

  You can solve problems in have:

  (A) disable all the quiz questionsand quiz results; republish and test.

  If it works, you have identified the part of the course, which need your attention.

  If it doesn't, you will need to turn on these features and turn off the next block of functions.

  Turn off all glide learning interactions; republish and test.

  If it works, you have identified the part of the course, which need your attention.

  If it doesn't, you will need to turn on these features and turn off the next block of functions.

  Repeat for the video, animations, etc..

  Otherwise, you can solve by brutal force, dealing with all the slides as equal:

  (B) break the entire course in blocks of slides, maybe divide by 5 or 10. A course of 100 slides could tackle 10 blocks Home 10 slides, or 5 blocks of 20 slides. You may need to publish each block, so decide for several blocks means several times.

  Turn off the first block, republish and test.

  If it works, you have identified the part of the course, which need your attention.

  If it doesn't, you will need to turn on this block and turn off the following block of slides.

  Disable the second block, republish and test.

  If it works, you have identified the part of the course, which need your attention.

  If it doesn't, you will need to turn on this block and turn off the following block of slides.

  Turn off the power the first block, republish and test do... lather, rinse, repeat!

  Once you have identified the annoying block, you must test for which slide could be the problem.

  This type of question is why I tend to build components on a course rather than working from the front to the back and filling each slide. As I'm building features I create versions, publish, and test.
