Publishing Star Ratings in iTunes OS10

All agree it's a missing feature in the latest version of iTunes for iOS.  This is feature number one for organizing Playlists and best time to rate new songs is on my iPhone.

Given feature worked perfectly fine in the previous version and was not replaced with new features - bring it back please!

Hello

I agree with you it would be nice, but I feel that not enough people were using for Apple to see the point to keep. I usually organize my library into different playlists and 10 IOS has had major updates of music to give you the best experience possible, but of course, you can't make everyone happy.

I'm sure that something similar is in preparation and we can see that it comes to subsequent updates of IOS 10.

Once again thanks for posting.

I am running IOS10.0.1 on an iPhone 6. I am a subscriber of Apple's music. Where are the freekin' star ratings (?) on Apple's music application? I spent a decade meticulously curating my collection of music using the coast to stars provided. I have a system with all five-star ranking "no Star". The sides are the Foundation of my entire music collection. The rating system 'Love' 'not like' now employment is unnecessary and juvenile. It is completely unlike Apple experience - dumbing down the scoring system.

I have 567 Articles in the list of "Bought" on iTunes on my Mac. On the issue of 'Bought' IOS10 it shows 3 songs. This is unacceptable.

In IOS10 music app, when I press the playlist 'Recently played', all crashes.

Where is the game count? I want my playlist '25 most played' to appear on IOS10 and serve. On the application of music IOS10 playlist 'Most played' blocks the app when we and the same playlist on my Mac using iTunes 12.4.3.1 is no longer present the songs most played who play for years. Now it shows the songs most played since last month when I upgraded iTunes. Historical data what are gone. It's tragic.

On my iTunes on my Mac, I have a smart playlist, "Top 25 most played" using this criterion:

Match all media for all of the following rules:

    Media type is not Podcast

    Cheek is greater than 0

Limited to 25 items selected by most often played

    Live update

But it does not follow the criteria. I know that I can go to 'Get information' to get a game for songs in ITunes account, but this isn't a list of the most played top 25.

I don't know what Apple did, but it is NOT the iTunes I used and loved all these years. And now the version of IOS is severely lacking... when not crashing.

I have a very similar problem. I do not use AppleMusic, BUT I have a large collection of music. I used to be able to tap the album art on my iPhone and rate a song - easy. Now, I can't. I have to remember until the next time I synchronize with my PC and evaluated in iTunes on my PC... seriously downgrade functionality. I listen to a lot of music on my phone and need to evaluate here and!

  • Music: Why the Star Ratings went?

Apple, I was using iTunes since 1.0 and music from Apple since the first iPod players. The main way I sort my music is by assessing all my songs, so I can quickly make playlists based on songs of five stars (for example). I often listen to playlists of songs not classified, so I can rate properly.

This feature is gone in iOS 10.

I used to use the title of the song (in iOS 8 and earlier) or the album art (in iOS 9) to bring up the stars for a song. It was quick and easy and allowed me to evaluate my songs while I'm away from home. IOS 10, typing from the cover of the album does... nothing. The functionality of the Star has been removed completely.

Can you tell me why this was done? You deleted a vital part of the music experience without valid reason. And it's not as if this operation has been replaced by what it is. He just disappeared.

What makes me regret upgrading to iOS 10, and I'm looking forward to this release for months. It's take away something I used religiously since the very first iPod.

Please, bring back Star Ratings on iOS 10! Please, I beg you!

I Don t have iOS X yet, but if the star of note his party, will be one of the reasons to leave iTunes...

Im having problems to see the star on my library ratings: 200 GB of music, that I rate methodically in all these years...

IT JUST a SHAME to hide them, to force us to use "loves" or what they want to do, but I'm really VERY VERY UNFORTUNATE if this is not set in the future, I think it's a SHAME TOTALLY...

  • Songs of classification by stars playing in iTunes on the phone

I use playlists based on the sides of the songs.  One of the benefits is that my music was on random, I could touch the screen and give a song a rating 5 stars while he was playing and then my smart playlist for the songs with 5 star ratings would be updated and then I can come back in this playlist.

Now, I can not access the system of star ratings in my phone for it - do, ideas, what has changed and I can still do this?

Sides of song in iOS 9.3 have been moved. Tap the cover to get it.

  • Is no longer possible to publish a stream in iTunes you and in the podcast store

    Just a heads up-

We spent several years some of our streams iTunes U published in the regular iTunes podcast store often use the same RSS feed for both. Since the recent launch of iTunes Connect (the new quote and service management of content from the iTunes store), however, it seems that it is possible to submit an RSS feed in iTunes you and the iTunes podcast store. I get a message that says "status: Validation failure ' and 'cannot submit your feed. Your feed had already been submitted. »

I submitted a ticket to Apple support, but some trial and error tests suggests that there is a workaround. If you have already submitted your feed to iTunes U, you can submit it to the iTunes podcast store but you need to replace the feed URL and the title of the podcast. I don't know if cela a new policy from Apple or a glitch in the new iTunes Connect service.

Another work around could be to send the stream to the podcast to iTunes store first and then submit to iTunes U public site manager using-, but I have tested this theory yet.

    Hi Tom,

As I KNOW you're not supposed to do this in the first place. (It's what we were told in 2009).

I guess Apple is simply start applying this restriction.

  • Lightroom is not more important to Star Ratings.

We run 5.7 Lightroom on five computers in our office. Recently one of the instances of the program ceased to import the coast star entirely. I uninstalled on this machine and reinstalled Lightroom and was confused to see that all our imports and settings to before uninstalling were still there. I was expecting that a reinstall would erase the library and settings, but it didn't happen. This relocation did nothing of LR are missing and ratings. Our import dialog box is set to import embedded metadata sidecar, and so is not the issue.

To sum up our workflow: we RAW format, rate of star in a program called FastPictureViewer, import for the RL, make changes and export JPEG files. This workflow is the same on all machines that we use, and parameters are consistent between machines. We tested an import using a folder of images which is starred on another machine, and the sides offers childless.

What could be the cause of Lightroom to do not import data from rating star XMP for this machine?

  • Can I use an Adobe ID on DPS Folio producer to publish a folio on iTunes and Googleplay?

My publication is deployed on two shops, Googleplay and iTunes. I created my content to the charge of the first folio (set to 1024 x 768) to the producer of Folio. Can I leave with assistance than this folio to publish in both applications?

For clarity, my iTunes app is multi-folio with iTunes subscription, and the Googleplay application is multi-folio. Both are free (no content of detail) and the folio does not contain videos online or panoramas.

    See you soon,.

    Renny

Yes, you can use an application id and post on iTunes and Google play using "rendition":

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Digital-Publishing-Suite/help/creating-documents-multiple-devices.h tml

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Digital-Publishing-Suite/help/create-Folio-renditions.html

I personally like to keep the separate request for two stores id since separate application ID to ensure that I get Analytics for both stores separately, and also manage easier folios, although there are some initial work involved in the publication of folios, long term, it is more successful.

  • LR assigns a star ratings when importing all my files, why?

    Hello

apropos of nothing (I think) lightroom has taken upon itself to star in all my imported images.  Does anyone know how to stop this? Also is there a way to cancel overall all marks in a selection? When I select all and set the zero he attributed the ranking to the first image.  Thanks in advance!

You have a preset when you import the metadata files? Sounds like it has side = 1 in there.

  • Stars in iTunes iOS 10.0.2.

I use the star ratings for my smart playlist in iTunes. After the new update, iOS 10.0.2, I can not find how to use or update the stars in iTunes.

It is actually the music app in iOS 10, no iTunes, and the number of stars is no more supported than through order Siri. iTunes on a computer always supports the coast star.

You could try a third party such as 'Score of music.' widget You must also file a request to Apple to bring this feature back http://www.apple.com/feedback/

  • Disable/remove Album auto Ratings

When you rate a song in iTunes or on a device synchronized with the iTunes Library, if that song is be the first song on the album that you gave a hand, iTunes automatically assigns a score of the Album. For some reason, this album side door also to the field of evaluation for each track of the album in the form of a star in gray / hollow. This creates a big problem when you want to sort your library or a playlist, rating. Even if you have not affected the rest of these securities a rating, they seem to be evaluated as some iTunes has awarded the Album side.

Example: You listen to the album "Revelation" by The Brian Jonestown Massacre for the first time, and you give the first track a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. iTunes then immediately assigns each track on the album revelation a 5 on 5 Album, with a 5 out of 5 rating in the form of grayed out / stars hollow. If you then sort your music library by ranking, all the tracks on this album, you have not yet listened to will be among all the tracks in your library given a 5 star rating.

Initially, this might not seem like a big deal. Normally you can hover over the stars in the rating column and drag it to the left, and * poof * the coast disappeared. But because they are automatic ratings, for some reason, it does not. You think you could do the same in the column Album of note, but this does not work either. So the only way to remove the Album rating, which will then remove the automatic rating assigned to each track, is to choose the song in the My Music / Playlists tab, change the display of album and drag the stars next to the cover of the album all the way to the left. This translates each track not classified being back to no notes, and oddly enough it switches the coast Album hollowed out stars rather than remove it completely.

There is no way to disable these automatic Album sides. So, if you have a large music library and you use ratings as a way to organize... Well, expect FAR from spend more time passing by and remove these automatic sides one by one that you spend everything in iTunes, insofar as the maintenance current and to keep things organized goes.

This is the first time I looked back to an older version of iTunes and never, never updated, but unfortunately new iTunes libraries will not work with older versions of iTunes, so I'm stuck with it. I don't understand why developers of iTunes that it is a useful feature (given these automatic ratings would be helpful to users who use the ratings in the first place, and ironically, these are the same users who are affected by this feature), and more so I do not understand why they do not offer an option to disable the automatic scoring. I spent hours of operation through the mind-numbing process to remove these automatic ratings, and whatever it is, if I continue to use assessments as a way to organize my music library, it is guaranteed to be a regular waste of time.

Is there something I'm missing here? Or y at - it a better method of dealing with this unpleasant feature? And if an iTunes dev happens to see this, were you aware of counterproductive how these automatic ratings are?

In my opinion, basically, they just forgot to include the field 'Album Rating' next to the field "rating" existing in the new component to read the information.

However, its strange that I cannot even change the Album rating stars all over iTunes.

I hope that they fix it soon, it really ' don't mess with playlisting...

  • Why my side song erased and playlists were emptied on iTunes?

I'm looking for a possible explanation as to why this particular thing happened if it does not happen in the future. I tried to cover all the details that I thought was appropriate where a person can say exactly what happened.

First of all, I have a modest library of 3500 songs on my iTunes I keep pretty organized with playlists and rating stars, and I'm trying to store all my data locally (ie. not on the cloud). I synchronize my entire library to my iPhone, so basically I'm trying to keep my iTunes and iPhone music library identical library and have all my music physically downloaded to my phone (music so only available offline). I don't use iCloud music library and hold.

I use Apple music on my phone, however, to discover new music. I had it on automatic renewal for a couple of months but let my membership lapse one maybe a more than a week ago - ergo, I didn't not Apple music for several days.

I decided to take out a few days ago and everything was good. I had synced my phone since my subscription expired because I had not added to any music, until yesterday when I bought some singles on iTunes I want to synchronize my phone. However, they would not sync with my phone after 2 or 3 attempts, then I looked around my phone settings and noticed that iCloud music library was running. I'm sure that when I re-subscribed to Apple's music, it turns out iCloud music library somehow.

Then I disabled iCloud music library, and then I tried to sync again. Only this time, a majority of my music bought were not sync to my phone. Any other synchronized through music. The only way to access my music bought on my phone was to "show all music" and I guess that flows to my phone. Some of them would stream and I had the opportunity to 'download to the phone' but most of them wouldn't even either, they would simply appear in my library of phone but unable to play. Still the same after sync 2 times more.

I deleted all the music on my phone through my phone settings and then synchronized with the sync option is not all music on iTunes and for some reason that still synchronize a purchased song. I deleted manually, this song changed to 'synchronize all music' on iTunes re - transfer my entire library to my phone, but it still refuses to transfer nearly all of my purchased music. And on top of that, I noticed all but 40 of 3500 ~ songs had their side to star cleared on iTunes, the end of the synchronization.

One last shot to try to get my music on my phone, I deleted all the music again once, backed up my phone, it completely, restore the backup and finally sync all reset.

Finally, I clicked on one of my playlists and noticed it was empty. I checked the rest, and all my manual playlists were empty. Only filled have been my smart playlists, relying on the date added and play counts.

Basically, the entire structure of my entire library is ruined. I have no idea why or how it happened but I am sure iCloud music library was the beginning of it. I tried to restore temporary files without success, nor that any itunes library previous saved files help. I have a full September 2015 iTunes backup that has all until the preserved month, but I tore a lot of albums for Christmas and I don't want to lose the date added / play metadata count. I've temporarily restored the library September 2015 and screenshotted as much as I could, so I just have to manually recreate playlists and enter again in the ratings.

Take a look at this thread for some thoughts: lose the song playing in iTunes 11

It would be possible to edit the script I mentioned it to recover a portion of your lost data.

  • Manipulation of the gray stars

If iTunes will assign ratings to my podcast episodes when I have NOT assigned a side (grey stars), why in the world can't the smart playlists include the ability to filter based on whether the star is grey or black?  Essentially, this change in iTunes which force ratings on not assessed points has destroyed my ability to filter my list of how I want to.  Now, I have to give a star rating to each episode black to replace iTunes grey star ratings assigns or lose my ability to filter.  I can't remove the side grey-star without resetting all the sides black stars for all of the podcasts, which also destroyed my filtering system.  I wish they would return to their previous method do not have iTunes give anything without my permission.

Here are four scripts that can erase or reset album and follow the automatic classification. Each of them works on the current selection of songs in iTunes. The first two work by assigning a manual note of 1%, which shows as no stars and should work fine with your smart playlists. The second pair to restore the default behavior. You will probably still make a management as new items are added to your library, but it might make it easier.
