  I am running Vista Home Premium 32 bit on SP2.

  I just had my McAfee security expires and since I was not able to install security updates.

  I uninstalled McAfee and searched my system to make sure that it is completely gone, then I installed Microsoft Security Essentials.

  I was able to update its definitions of once and since I was not able to do so once again - instead, I get the error message "Virus and Spyware definitions update failed" and the code of error 0x80072efe

  I have since run a full scan of the system and the following were found on my system:

  -Trojan Dropper

  -Trojan notifier

  -Trojan Downloader

  -Virus: Win32/Alureon.H

  It is said that they have been removed - I'm not sure if they have something to do with my problems of system...

  Also my windows update still does not go to download security updates, and it still gives me the same error code.

  Is there a way to fix this?

  Also, the first update failed installed has been updated for Windows Vista (KB955430)

  The last successful security update was security update for Windows Vista (KB979309)

  The one who follows - update security for Windows Vista (KB978338) failed and there all security updates do not have

  I just had my McAfee security expire... I installed Microsoft Security Essentials.

  You should have uninstalled the McAfee application and download / run the tool to remove McAfee Consumer product and then installed Microsoft Security Essentials before as your McAfee subscription has expired.

  I just bought Adobe Lightroom 5 online last night and tried to download the installation. The download was not successful, I tried two or three summaries, but still not able to get it completed. So I tried the process again this morning and found the 'Uh-oh, something went wrong! Error code: 403 "return.

  I am very disappointed by the experience that I had with the buying process in line/download of Adobe. I paid for the software, but the service and the reliability of the system that deliver you to your customer is so terrible.

• HELP: error code 800b0100 when you run the KB981332 update

  I am bang of ideas on it - have been trawling the foums, connected issues with HP and MS and all without success so far. Other updates seem to run OK.

  I have fairly new CPQ Presario notebook with factory version Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit preset with the trial versions of Norton Internet security and online backup. I deleted the backup utility and modernized purchased NIS 2010 edition.

  Latest updates installed successfully are KB971468, KB972270, KB974431 (35 listed) etc.

  As I don't have an OEM CD or DVD as a set of HP Recovery DVD. I seem to have only 1 option, or so say MS supports, namely restoring in the construction of the plant and start over. Needless to say, I don't want to do that.

  I tried a lot of things probably too many to mention including CFS, deleting the SoftwareDsitribution files. removal of NOrton (removal tool) etc. Am desperate for more help - surely to goodness it is possible to fix this without wiping everything.
