  Boot the computer normally and log.

  I'm trying to implement password policy in Windows XP Home Edition.  I want the password to expire in 90 days.

  I followed the instructions in this article by using a Windows XP Home Edition.  I used the command 'net accounts' before and after the step to add an entry to register and each time the net accounts shows the password max being ' unlimited. The only change I made to the registry was entered MaxPasswordAge.

  I restarted the system after making changes in the registry and it has not made a difference.  Does anyone have this done successfully in Windows XP Home Edition?  One thing I noticed is that the 'Network' directory did not exist in the registry then I added this directory (folder) and then added the MaxPasswordAge entry in the directory.  Any thoughts?
