Qosmio F50-108 - question of front operation panel

Hello, I have a qosmio F50-108 and the front panel does not work me, I think I uninstall a program. Please link to the driver. Thanks Astier

Sorry for my bad English

Hi Astier

Sorry, but I don't understand what you are meaning exactly façade?
Do you mean like the Toshiba control buttons (play, pause, stop, etc.)

If you are which means these buttons and if you deleted a driver that controls these buttons then a solution should be easy.

First of al, you should try to define the operating system at the beginning of time until you have deleted this driver. To do this you must use the system restore utility.

Second, if the procedure described above does not work, try reinstalling the VAP (value added package).

  • Need to WIn8.1 webcam driver for Qosmio F50-108

    Hi all!
I'm looking for Toshiba Qosmio F50 - 108 the camera driver. I have windows 8.1.

Someone know where I can find it?

As much as I know Toshiba does not have webcam driver for Win8/Win8.1.
Operating system uses the standard Microsoft driver.

I think this Qosmio is old enough laptop model. But in general, I don't know if your Qosmio is supported for Win8/Win8.1 or not?

  • Cannot install Windows XP on the Qosmio F50-108

I got the Qosmio F50-108 with Vista.

I dislike Vista so I tried to install XP.
Unfrtunatelly, I get a BSOD every time XP takes over for the first time (startup). Usually, when there is a problem of sata, XP tells you while there's no HARD drive, but I do not get this message, I get a BSOD.
I don't know why there is no support for XP in fact I know that Microsoft paid toshiba to stop supporting Windows XP.

Is the thing that drives me crazy, YOU CAN INSTALL WIN XP ON EVERY APPLE COMPUTER MACINTOSH, but you can't do it with a Toshiba.

I know that there is a possibility, I know that an update of the bios might help, but toshiba does not.
Dear Sirs to Toshiba, I know you know what I have to do in order to get XP running on a Toshiba computer, so please, help me.

    Hi guys

You can install XP on each laptop Toshiba. But you knew how! : D

Your Windows XP CD must contain the SP2. This is important because the new laptops no matter which manufacturer need SP2 patches due to some hardware compatibility issues!
Without the SP2, you will receive a BSOD!

Then, the new notebooks support SATA drives hard and new SATA controllers!
Windows XP and Vista operating systems do not contain the SATA drivers, and therefore you must include first before running the installer of the OS.
Or you can disable the SATA in the BIOS. You will need to switch from AHCI to compatibility mode.

Then, you must install the XP window successfully.

So finally, I must say that I really don't understand these comments like this:
    > Is the thing that drives me crazy, YOU CAN INSTALL WIN XP ON EVERY APPLE COMPUTER MACINTOSH, but you can't do it with a Toshiba.
OK, I see you're frustrated because you cannot install the operating system, but he must know that this is not a problem of laptop, but it is only a case or a knowledge!
So maybe you should learn more about new technologies and you'll know how things are working. ;)

To all here-> greetings & peace;)

  • Qosmio F50-108 - rustling sound in the speakers for a second or two

I recently purchased Toshiba Qosmio F50-108. I am very satisfied; the only thing that bothers me is the rustling sound in the speakers. The rustling sound appears only occasionally on higher volume (system volume) and Winamp or WMP volume and lasts for a second or two. It is not such a problem bi but it's embarrassing to hear the rustling all the few minutes when listening to music.

Harman/Kardon speakers have also some reputation so I t think that rustling is normal. If someone else got the same problem with speakers, please answer.

Well, what to say, I think that it s a normal question if you want to hear music on the volume level high. Almost all the speakers would be rustle a little bit some time if you increase the volume to maximum.

But if you think it's a hardware problem, then you must contact the Toshiba ASP in your country for a control.

    Welcome them

  • Qosmio F50 - 108 b - issue of upgrade hardware

    Hello!

I have the Qosmio F50-108 b. I am considering buying the new processor for my pm45 chipset, but I can't find information about my support for the cpu bios. I stopped the Q9100... its very very fast. The chipset support, but what the BIOS? I think that to give a chance to the ddr3 memory, so I buy two Privateers 4 GB ddr3 1333, which I suppose to work normally on 1066... Maybe a little more if I can clock the FSB: P.

BTW I have successfully recorded video (9700M GTS) of 540 clock 1325 shader 799 mhz to 690 memory memory clock 1700 shader 1040 Central. Just be sure to clean your computer from inside well so that the heat will not stop you: P

You know more about its use at these frequencies? I hope the laptop takes care of everything? Advice please on future updates to this subject :)

    > The chipset support, but what about the BIOS?

This is not mentioned on any page of Toshiba which I could find in the internet ;(
But I guess you would have a good chance using a CPU that is taken in charge by the chipset, but it's my personal opinion

In addition, I found this doc from Toshiba:

  • Qosmio F50-108 - monitor flicker

Hello! I have a Qosmio F50-108, and recently, I noticed that the screen flickers.

It looks like a neon sign that is on out. Fortunately, which happened yet, but I'm really afraid that my monitor can suddenly go blank one day. No matter which option to choose, and whether or not its clogged, it still happens.

Has anyone ever encountered this problem? Help.

You have this problem on the internal or external screen?
If a display is flashing, the screen itself is faulty, the FL tube is the cause of the error

I think your laptop is relatively new, so I would go to an ASP. They can check your laptop, to order parts and change if it of necessary.

  • Qosmio F50-108: How do I use the NVIDIA SLI technology

I own a laptop Qosmio F50-108 and it has a Nvidia GeForce 9700 M GTS graphics card that supports NVIDIA Sli technology.

    How to use this feature?

    Hello

AFAIK your Qosmio model was equipped with card NVIDIA GeForce 9700 GTS * M * graphics chip.
It should support the PureVideo HD, HybridPower, etc.

The HybridPower is a switch between performance or battery life.
If you need more graphics power, you can turn it on and if the graphic power is not needed, you could disable to extend the battery working time.

AFAIK the HybridPower can be enabled in Vista manually Power Options in Vista and in according to some gossip in the next time that the nVidia driver should control this function automatically. But these are only a few gossip that I found on various Web sites.

  • Weird problem with Qosmio F50-108 - power power button

    Hello

I have strange problem with button / stop on Toshiba Qosmio F50-108 - pressing the power button won't start the computer. Now, the computer starts only when I press the first button to the right of the power button (Toshiba button Support).

It's as if the buttons have been activated. The power button is still able to stop the laptop or put on standby when you press on, but it no longer starts. Recently, I had my laptop on the service, but I put t know if it has been opened or not. Is it possible that the problem is hardware related or is - this serious just of system configuration? It would help if I Flash the BIOS? Otherwise I will take to the service again.

    Thank you for the answers!

    Hello

If the laptop was on the service, please call them and explain the situation. Start button / stop is only the button that can be used for the specification of switching on and, as far as I know, it cannot be changed with certain parameters.

I assume that there must be a contact problem.

Call and see what they say on this subject.

    What should I be careful?

    What HARD drive to buy?

    Thank you...

I doubt that this is possible.

As I m not wrong not the F50-108 belongs to the series of PQF55E and verification of this series of models, I found and the info that this laptop supports a 320 GB (5400 RPM) SATA HDD but it doesn t support the second HDD.

However, I would recommend checking the bottom of the unit. Is there a possibility for an upgrade of the HARD drive then you should find a second HARD drive with a SATA HDD connector Bay.

  • Upgrade memory and disk SSD Qosmio F50-108

    Hello!

    After 3 years, I decided to upgrade my [Qosmio F50 | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=EU&PRODUCT_ID=1 055727 & DISC_MODEL = 1] new SSD and additional memory.

With a drive, I'm pretty well agreed the [Intel 320 120 GB SSD | http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/solid-state-drives/solid-state-drives-320-series.html], unless you recommend something different maybe?

But I have the problem before deciding what size memory to take. Now, I 3 072 (2 048 + 1 024) MB DDR2 (800 MHz), and CPU - z says it runs in mode dual channel with timings 6-6-6-18(on memory stick it says 6-6-6-12?). I watched [Patriot DDR2 SO-DIMM 4 GB 800 MHz | 787 http://patriotmemory.com/products/detailp.jsp?prodline=3&catid=33&prodgroupid=59&id= & type = 5], and he said just in time of latency case 6. I have not found on the internet what timings there so I have a question:

If I buy 1 (one) memory stick (Patriot) and replace it with 1 GB stick in laptop, old 2 GB + 4 GB new work in dual channel, or do I have to buy 2 x 4 GB (Patriot)?

If this does not work, you rather 6 GB with channel single or dual channel 4 GB.

    Thanks for all the answers!

    > I pretty much agreed with drive, Intel 320 120 GB SSD, unless you recommend something different maybe?

I think it shouldn't be a big problem with the compatibility because the HARD disk controller supports the SATA interface and the SATA SSD drive should also be compatible.

    > If I buy 1 (one) memory stick (Patriot) and replace it with 1 GB stick in laptop, old 2 GB + 4 GB new work in dual channel, or do I have to buy 2 x 4 GB (Patriot)?

Dual Channel does not require two execatly the same memory modules.

So, theoretically, you can use a module of RAM 2 GB and 4 GB RAM module.
I advise to use 4 GB of RAM in A slot and 2 GB of RAM in slot B

But the two modules must supports the same speed (800 Mhz), otherwise the module more quickly would be pointing down.

  • Qosmio G40-108: Question about CPU upgrade

Dear friends, I am an Italian man who asks if it is possible to change the CPU (T7700) of my Qosmio g40-108 with the new T9300 (like USA G45-AV690)

    All the best
    David

    Hi david

Please understand that mobile technology is completely different Office of PC technology and motherboards are all just different.
Upgrading the CPU's especially not possible or very risky for other reasons.

A main reason could be overheating; as you know the stronger CPU would produce more heat and this could lead to a higher temperature and finally to overheating...

In addition you BIOS was not configured for other processors so it possible s that your laptop does not start after such update!

    See you soon

  • Upgrade processor in the Qosmio F50-108

    Hello

I would like to replace my CPU P8400 with Q9100.
Is this possible to do? Is P45 chipset and model of laptop is F50 - 108.

    Thank you

    Hello

    I agree with Akuma
Upgrading CPU is delicate first laptop disassembly procedure s isn't easy, you will need to remove all possible parts for laptop and it's not easy as with desktop PC s.

In addition, the BIOS doesn't allow all processors.
The chipset also has a page on Intel own CPU limitation you can check the specifications of the chipset.

But why you want to upgrade the processor?
Aware of the processor is good enough and you won't see a performance gain by using new CPU
