printer light blinks

I have a HP Photosmart 7850. It was working fine. I took the two ink cartridges and had fill out them. Put back them in and now I have a flashing red light and a small box on the screen. I've unplugged and still have the fire flashing and small box. Help. What can I do?

Hi Lynnlogan,

Follow the steps outlined in the document below.

Fixing of the flashing lights

HP has designed a quick and easy tool that diagnoses and solves many problems of hardware: the HP diagnostic utility hardware. These hardware issues can prevent printing, scanning or copying. HP recommends that you download and install the Diagnostic Utility material at any time that you need to solve a hardware problem.

I would like to know what are the errors you receive?

  • HP Laserjet 1018: Printer light blinks 15 times but does not print

I have 2 printers, my work horse HP laser jet and a Brother Multi printer/scanner/fax etc. Both printers work correctly when connected (usb to LJ1018 connection) or wireless (Brother MFC) to my notebook running windows 7 lite.

My desktop HP compaq core 2 duo machine is connected to two printers with the help of a brother network cable and a usb cable for the LJ1018 but I decided to connect the brother wireless to my network, because it allowed me to use my netbook without having to plug in a usb or network cable. I also created my office to connect wireless to the brother and it works fine, but now I find that I can not use the LJ1018 that I think only has a usb cable connection. Although the computer says the printer is connected it is flashing the light several times - about 15 but does not print anything. I tried to reinstall the USB driver but this makes no difference. One thought I have is that Windows XP cannot deal with a wireless connection, but also a connection usb, if yes can I have go back to wired connections?

  • LaserJet Professional P 1102w printer green light blinking, but will not be printed

I had my P of professional LaserJet 1102w for a little less than a year. I use it very rarely and very slightly (I've probably printed total less than 25 pages). It has always worked well.

But in the last 2 weeks, it stopped printing. The Green led comes on, but it will not be printed.

I went through the troubleshooting diagnostic tests on my computer (HP Pavilion, Windows 7 operating system). The result shows that my computer detects a problem, but it cannot identify it (for example, no paper jam, no toner, etc..). I manually checked it for a paper jam too. I have not seen any problems. I turned off, unplugged, he turned his back. She still does not print. And now the green light blinks, even if I turn it off several hours ago.

    Help, please. Thank you.

Update: I realized what it was. My USB cable was very slightly loose. I don't see when I checked manually the printer the first time. But I checked a second time and just pushed him tighter. Problem solved.

  • HP Officjet Pro 8600: Power light blinking and can't turn on or off

    Hi neuserivergirl,

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    2. which version of the operating system is installed on your computer?

What version of the operating system Windows am I running?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/help/which-version-of-the-Windows-operating-system-am-i-running

You can disconnect the power cable from the plug, and then try to turn on or off.

It seems to be a hardware problem, I suggest you contact the manufacturer of the printer for assistance on this issue.

  • P1102w: P1102w - orange light blinking - won't initialize

My printer won't boot and the orange light blinks. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the printer driver and firmware. It also shows 'it can run out of toner' when I know that it is not. Cannot print page of test or anything else that he does not communicate with the computer. Help!

    Hey @cbloom57,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have an orange light flashing on your Laserjet P1102w printer range. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once it is, while the printer is on, remove the power cable at the back of the printer for one minute. If you still see a flashing light orange, then the printer is more likely to have a recoverable hardware problem. This document explains How to resolve error lights on the printer.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to clear the blinking light, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • Satelite L775 used high power - orange light blinks 5 times

    Greetings,

I bought my Toshiba Satelight new l775 7 months ago, it's so crazy. It used to be on, I use the laptop connected to the adapter 4 to 8 hours a day, then the laptop goes unused and unplugged for 16 to 20 hours a day.

This is my 3rd phone, I know that I put more tension on the previous two (HP and Acer). I've never had a laptop go on me this quick, even this acer laptop $ 300 crossed more tension and never went out in the 15 months that I got it.

My laptop backup is a HP of 4 years, I've had it for 4 years, its fell several times, used and abused still underway! I just had to level of ram and hard drive. But, this Toshiba! She was so beautiful when I saw him!

I have never dropped it, never spilled something on it, so why she put me through that stress at a bad time?

A bad time because even if I'm under warranty, I'm leaving on vacation in 2 days! I need it, I'm not trying to take my old HP that came out in 2008.

I can't afford to send my Toshiba for 2 weeks, not immediately.

Today, my anti-virus software was his typical scheduled scan, I didn't charge the laptop, because I was out of work, so when I leave the laptop gets used more and charged additionally. I look at the laptop and its judgment, I just thought, O... my battery died, I would plug in the adapter and do some reading. Nothing good happened. 8 hours later, I worked on it for more than 8 hours, I searched all over google, many forums, none of the following solutions worked for me.

Disconnect the battery and press power for 30 seconds
Unplug the adapter and press power for 30 seconds
Disconnect the battery and the adapter and press power for 30 seconds

(of course after the 30 sec thing, I tried turns on normally, with or without battery and power adapter).

I pulled the little battery round, hard drive, memory sticks (even changed the 2 around and I tried each one solo) I tried without any ram. I unplugged all the excess material, the only extra things I had was my usb mouse, but I unplugged that, even pulled the CD-ROM drive.

I removed all water-cooling, open the laptop to see if I saw something a coward, I don't see anything, the part where the adapter will seem a little loose, but it seems to go all the way and fine. I pushed hard and still nothing.

One thing I will say... I read at least 8 other fairly new poster of Toshiba satellite owners with similar problems of their laptop does not turn on. This isn't a good glance, since this is the first product of Toshiba, that I bought it and it costs $500 more than my acer laptop which gave me no problem in my 15 months of owning...
I'm not belittling Toshiba immediately, this problem might be a small question (I hope), I could be my fault, so I'm not belittling Toshiba again because I like a lot about this laptop, especially the graphics!

Return to this topic after watching the discussions of people with similar problems, I noticed, nobody had the same exact problem I'm having. See most of the threads I have read, people would still get the orange light when the battery has been driven. I ONLY get the orange light when the battery is in the laptop. I try and power without the battery and nothing happens, no light flashes. Many other people were always other color lights or lights in different locations, my only light flashes 5 times, the second place left and is orange.

The only light that blinked in the last 8 hours is the second light from the left (I think it's the power light) and it flashes orange or maybe its red light... but when I press the power (I tried holding, tapping, etc...) that the orange light blinks 5 times and stops, nothing happens I don't hear any readers of spinning, everything is just dead.

Thanks for the time and help!

    Hi a8000

Looks like you already tried all possible solutions
The flashing light indicates that there is a possible hardware failure, but it is not possible to say what part is malfunctioning, it might be the motherboard
However, the guarantee seems to be valid so don t waste time and report it to the service provider in your country, they should solve this Toshiba!

  • Printer lights.

I have a printer all-in-one HP psc 2110. Last week, our electricity is out for a day. When the power was restored the printer lights not when I turned the computer back on. The monitor and the computer that both power very well, but the printer would not turn. I unplugged for a while, cleaned, spoke kindly to it... nothing. I am a senior at technology-challenged... Can someone help me?

Sorry if I have indicated an incorrect forum. I'm not very good at knowing what systems I have and what things are called and how they really work.

I tried everything I could think of to get the printer works, but I think you're right... it's probably time for a new printer.

I thank very you much for your time and your help.

It is not a problem that you have chosen this forum - I have just crossing the process to understand what was wrong logically.

The printer won't even turn on - then the first place to go is the study of material - given all that you said you've tried already.

It looks like the cut/surge that followed may have fried something. I guess you tried in an outlet different and other? -I hope - you also have all of the computer at least on a surge protector or a block Up ups (UPS) with automatic Votage (APR) incorporated - regulation to protect the equipment connected to such things? (It is worth the investment in most of the cases).

  • TX2517ca, will not start - blue LED - Num Lock & Lock lights blink.

laptop just decided NOT to start a day... I can hear the fan and HARD drive activity minimal. I tried the Hard reset as directed by HP and removed the battery etc... lights blink at the exact same time, stay on for 1 second and off for 3 seconds and then Flash simultaneously again and does not stop until I pull the power, there is no clicking, grinding, beep, nothing, nothing on the screen at all. The rest of the lighted buttons are lit in blue.

FYI, I am a 15... computer technician home based at this time. so I pulled the memory, cleaned, air-dried to compress (1 GB & 2 GB), 2 of them and blue on the slots and reinstall even by only 1 at the time, no change, same result, flashing of the LED. Then I pulled just the hard disk connected to another machine as an external HARD drive, it works fine, I see the C drive and the disc of recovery without any problem. so at this point, I just shot from the card pile and leave for a while see if we can clear the BIOS/CMOS (I was wondering if the software is stuck in hibernation or sleep setting and when turn is only back to the similar condition, but represent no display on the screen...) so far points to CPU I think. Then after having replaced existing hard drive and try to start if it does not work, I have a blank hard drive to work I can insert to the hell of it... stay tuned...

Also system Oh, hair Immaculate, not collected or dust in the ports of fan etc...

  • Power light blinking XPS 8900

I bought my XPS8900 a few weeks ago and immediately upgraded the memory up to 32 GB.

Everything worked fine, but then I decided to upgrade the video card to an EVGA GeForce GTX970 SSC.

This card requires a 6 and a power connector 8 pin that does not provide the power supply Dell stock. So rather that to return the video card, I have improved the power supply to a Corsair CX750M, I've read that other XPS8900 users have had success with this machine.

As others have pointed out, this PSU is a tight fit, but I could get installed it. As soon as I turned on, my trouble started.

The case and CPU fans spin, I hear the rotation of the drive upward, and I can open and close the dvd tray. So I know that the power supply provides at least a power. But I get no video, and on the top of the box, the power LED flashes amber model.

I tried to go back to the video card and power supply dell stock, but still have exactly the same problem.

I also tried unplugging the power cable and power for 30 seconds button. But still, the power light flashes orange model.

I know there is no beep codes for the 8900 XPS and the sequence of flashing orange light power is used to diagnose the problem, but I was not able to locate any reference to indicate trends.

The power light blinks a 2-7 model and repeats.

    Anyone know what this means?

    Follow-up:

I had ripped all with no luck. Well, everything except the improved memory. He had worked, so I don't think that it would be necessary to remove it. But I was wrong.

I went back to the memory of stock and the blinking orange light problem disappeared!

Then I reinstalled the new memory, and it worked too!

So I guess it was just that the memory should be seen.

Not sure if the model of 2-7 means 'Question' memory, but this would be my guess.

Since the 8900 XPS does not support beep codes, I hope that Dell will eventually publish what mean flashing light patterns.

  • Want 5540: Blue light blinks and the printer will not connect wireless

Printer has been successfully implemented and operational, but today the blue light flashes, it does not connect to our wireless and will not be the same impression with ubs. I disconnected and reconnected several times and removed and reloaded the software, but the problem persists.

Turn off the router and the printer. Turn on the router, wait 3 min. Turn on the printer and see if it connects to the router.

  • The red light blinks and I can't print.

I reinstalled, activated and deactivated, changed the ink and still no luck.

Thank you for the information. From what you describe, looks like the printer's mistake out there, but don't not giving much information about what is at the origin of the problem. I found this document on the flashing of the patterns of light for your printer that should help you to find the cause of the problem and fix it. If the document can help you to work around the problem, you may need to get a new printer.

  • HP6000 inkjet printer: cartridge blinking while new cartridge in place

What happened a couple of times. The yellow cartridge flashing and after replacement

the cartridge with a new cartridge HP light continues to Flash. After replacing ALL the

cartridges, the light continues to blink on the yellow cartridge, and although the new cartridge is

    * beep *, the indicator insists there is no cartridge there.

The other time that this has happened, after several attempts, he finally registered his existence, but this time

It does not accept it. How to fix it please?

Problem solved! A few things I've done:

Hard restart - printer unplugged and disconnected from the computer, waited a few minutes then

attached to the computer and plugged

Very carefully cleaned the metal contacts on the cartridge and printer

    then reinserted cartridge.

Once more, turnef printer off, then on again.

Finally the received msg HP ink cartridges have been installed.

Thanks to everyone who helped me with this isdue.
