If you have a retail copy of Ultimate, you can use the button to do an Anytime Upgrade - all files and programs will remain on the computer.

Upgrade Express using a key of already purchased the retail Pro/Ultimate

In Windows 7 Home Premium, type Anytime Upgrade in search programs and files box on the start menu, and then click the Windows Anytime Upgrade.  From there, you can enter your product key for Windows 7 Professional/ultimate retail (full or upgrade) and perform a simple upgrade. Online Anytime Upgrade is not available in all countries. All programs and files will remain on the computer, there is no drive necessary and it takes about 10 minutes.

If you have a full key or upgrade of retail it will work with any time to upgrade. If you have an OEM key, academic key or Volume license key will not work with the Express upgrade.

  • Upgrade from Vista to Win7 (64 bit Home Premium) (64-bit Home Premium) hung up to 96%

I bought a subscription Office 365 this weekend, he returned and discovered that it won't work on my machine which is / was running Vista Home Premium 64-bit.  I had a disc OEM Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) I bought a few months ago, when I had to completely rebuild my machine, but has not used, because by some miracle, he started on my Vista drive.  I ran the Upgrade Advisor, dealt with the non-compliant issues, updated everything, disabled my antivirus software and did a upgrade install.  It stuck at 18% for hours during the 3rd stage of the installation, and then as I was on system crash, he started to answer and he got 96%, where it is been blocked for more than 16 hours.  If I try to cancel the installation, it is said that it will / could make my system unusable.  I saw there is a problem with these being stuck at 62%, but if I can't stop installation without turning my brick system, how to fix this?

    Turn off the computer

Disconnect non-essential connections and start the machine again and see if it finishes the installation program.

If this does not work, try the following:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

  • I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32 - bit (Home Premium update) and I want to re - install Windows but in 64-bit. Will I still have Ultimate

I have a Toshiba with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 - bit (Home Premium update) and I want to re - install Windows but in 64-bit. Will I still have Ultimate?

I'm going to re - install from 32 to 64-bit via the loader of windows recovery.
This computer has asked ma to install 32 or 64 bit when I first turned on, I chose 32, but now I want to 64.

It depends on. Is the license of Windows 7 Ultimate, a full version license or upgrade, or upgrade Express?

If its an Express upgrade license, you will need to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, then make the Express Windows 7 upgrade Ultimate edition using the Express upgrade key, you have.

If you have a Windows 7 Ultimate full retail or upgrade version license, you can simply by using the 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate disc and do a custom Setup on the current installation of 32-bit.

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

  • Vista 32 bit Home Premium upgrade to Windows 7

I have been using Windows Vista, 32-bit, Home Premium with success.  Recently, it has been suggested to me that I had to upgrade to Windows 7.  I want to keep, at least, I currently have the same capabilities.  I have a few questions.

    1. because I don't want to back up or modify files or programs, is it wise to upgrade to Windows 7, 32 bit, Home Premium?

    2. in the case, which version do you recommend?

    3. should I download it from Microsoft or do I have to download it also?

    4. If not should I buy in a store?  Could you recommend one?

5 is it complicated to install?  Do you know a good site that could help me to install it?

    6. Finally you would give a price range that I have to pay?

I know this has been long, but it seems to be a complex issue.

Thank you very much for your time and your support.

    Yes.

    N/A

    3. should I download it from Microsoft or do I have to download it also?

The only legal Windows 7 download available is now Microsoft, as Microsoft has stopped DigitalRiver Windows 7 ISO downloads.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery

But Microsoft only provides these downloads for Windows 7 keys to selling product at retail.

Microsoft sells more than Windows 7.

    Try Amazon.com., etc.

There is no free upgrade to Windows 7 and not Microsoft Download, unless you have a the retail license /key of product already and I wanted to reinstall...

There was a special offer for this a couple of years back; but this offer has expired for a long time.

Before purchasing Windows 7, follow these steps:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

  • Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium operating systems disks

I bought my laptop with Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium installed on it.  I've since upgraded to Windows 7.  Unfortunately, there are a few programs that will not work under Windows 7 little matter what I do.

So, I would try to run a virtual Windows Vista system.  The problem is that I can't find my disk with the operating system of Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium on it.

Download the Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium operating system so that I can burn a disc for a back-up or I can order a drive with the OS on it?

    Thank you!

You can not upgrade to Windows 7, and then use the Vista OS you used as part of the upgrade to install another (even virtual).

There is no Vista free download legal available.

And Microsoft provide no DVD for computers of the brand OEM (Dell, HP, etc).

Borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

  • DVD won't play in Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium Media Center.

I tried many DVDs in my Windows 7, 64-bit Home Premium system, and none of them will play in the Media Center, with the exception of a 1955 film that plays without problem. I guess it was a good year. In the lower right corner of the Media Center, a window says: "Play DVD - Windows Media Center cannot detect a video DVD in the DVD - Rom drive. Insert a video DVD in the drive." Apparently, the DVD is not detected. What is a missing codec problem? I read about downloading the Codec of the user, only to cause more problems, and I did a lot of searching for an answer to this and found a countless number of users having problems with DVD in Media Center and no collective solution. How can it be this difficult? What is the problem with Windows 7? Why can I play a DVD of a film of 1955 (Mr. Roberts) and not of today's movies? The only solution that I come up with to this day, even after checking with the maufacturer of my optical drive, should consider buying the codec itself, if that is what is lacking, or a DVD player to possibly of Roxio. But after the piece of hugh of money I paid for my software Windows 7, I would not have bought anything others of another company. I wouldn't think to go back to XP, but I've had far fewer problems. Any help would be appreciated. Don

Hi Mary - thank you very much for your answer. My PC is a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop computer. I just got the phone is turned off after a few hours of troubleshooting with Dell hardware and software services. Dell is sending a technician to replace my optical drive. They hope that clears the problem, but if not, they say that I might have to reinstall Windows 7. This is happening due to your pointing me in the right direction with your post, and troubleshooting I could do before, I called Dell. I had different problems for a while, and maybe they'll finally get fixed. Thanks again, Don Don

  • Qosmio F750 - need drivers for Windows 8

I have a Qosmio F750 = PQF75A and I installed upgrading to win 8 supplied with the laptop. My laptop is working except for the 3D and Blu - Ray players. I contacted Toshiba Australia and told me that there are no drivers available for the players.

If I understand the person I spoke to (I'm Hard of Hearing) he said that Toshiba will finally provide drivers for the problem. The thing is that Toshiba Assistant does not work, so I have to keep manually searching for updated drivers. I asked the person if it was possible to send me an e-mail when the drivers will be available, he said it was not possible for Toshiba to do and I have to go back to Windows 7.

Really, I don't want to go back on Win 7 so is it possible that I can get my laptop to Auto check for updated for Windows 8 drivers somehow.

    Thank you

    Hello John

As far as I know there are some sort of self control doesn t so from time to time you must check that all offered updates on the Toshiba support page. I assume you have an Australian model, so the right page is http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/download

I m from Europe and unfortunately can not help you with this. Best address for support is Australian Toshiba.

Wait a bit and try to contact them again. They may have some good news about updates.
