Qosmio G10: Question about warranty after registration

Early last year, I bought my G10.
I signed it, but I do not have the 1 year warranty
in fact, I was part of the 1st bought.

Now, barely 20 months of notebooks mainboard died. I am now asking to pay 1500 swiss franc for repairs. From this forum, I understand that the record should give me an extra blanket for one year.

Please help someone

Hello

As far as I remember the common warranty between 12 months and after registration, you will get more than 12 months.

When you register the laptop? Register after malfunction or immediately after the purchase of laptop?

I found another announcement that you post here:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=17192

I think that if you tried to save the laptop after the failure so that the warranty does not cover repairs.
As far as I know the service partner can see the data and the time of recording.

So in my opinion if you have saved the laptop after the failure, so you won't get the warranty extensions.

  • Qosmio G10: Question about motherboard replacement

I bought the G10 around 2 years there are in the United Kingdom and who now live in New Zealand.

I would say it has been a faithful companion, but looking back it cost much to get anything done, because of the ridiculous prices of the FSA.

I experienced a power supply, two hard drives, my touch pad no longer works and now the GPU (graphics card) is dead.

I'm sure that most of the people on this forum knows, that is, replacing the motherboard because it is on board.

I am out of warranty and replacement cost is more than a qosmio second hand of the same age.

Having done a lot of research on the internet about it.
I found out that Toshiba US will free of charge replace the motherboard. I asked Toshiba AUS/NZ and they refused him, that it was not a problem.

Toshiba UK/Europe does, or is it just the Toshiba US that cares about its customers?

    Hello

It's very sad to hear that! :(
I want to share my knowledge on the Toshiba us and Europe.
As I know the Toshiba us has nothing to do with Toshiba Europe or Australia/New Zealand.
Portable computers designed for the American market are simply different and also supports different parts and numbers; for example the Qosmio G10 or G20 are not available in the United States but only the Qosmio G15 or G25, etc.

If you have problems with your hardware, you must contact the partner service manager authorized in your country for further assistance.

    Regarding your question.
Yes, it really looks like a malfunction of the GPU (graphic processor unit). This graphics chip is fixed on the plateau and in the majority of cases, the whole Board needs to be replaced!
As you know, these hardware problems could still happen because the new age books are of the high-end products that work always with high performance.
    That s nothing unusual.

I bought a year ago from G20 and I bought an extended warranty on avoid such troubles.
So, I always recommend buying the extended warranty in the future.

    Good luck and best regards

  • Question about warranty after exchanges of RAM on Satellite module series

    Hello together,

I have a question about the warranty. My laptop is 5 months old and now I want to improve it with more RAM. I want to do it myself, and now I'm wondering if the warranty will be getting hurt.
Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Concerning

    TiG3r

For new models of laptops the RAM upgrade described in s operating manuals. It is public act and it shows the owner of the notebook how do RAM upgrade only.

If Toshiba offers something like this he won't have the negative influence of valid warranty.
Buy a compatible module and RAM upgrade.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Qosmio F60 - Question about the extended warranty

I just purchased a Qosmio F-60 (I am based in the Kenya) and after registration the laptop - my "registration form", says:

    Free warranty updated: SE5003E-B
EMEA from 1 to 3 years warranty extension

I checked on the "Details of the unit" section web site (www.toshiba-tro.de/unit-details) and it says that it is "extended warranty" "1 to 3 years. I just wanted to confirm that the laptop has now guaranteed for 3 years and what level of guarantee? Every bit of equipment?

    Thank you.

    Hi mate

Firstly that there is a user forum and I doubt that anyone here in the forum could confirm your warranty status.
But anything you need you can find on the page mentioned; unitdetails.
Here you can see the details of the warranty, and when it was recorded.

But if you have doubts, you can also check this page:

  • Qosmio G10-137: blue screen after re-install using Recovery CD

    Hi all

just got my qosmio G10-137 earlier this week after being under repair since the beginning of the month of January! Guys made the repair found no better then install the Dutch version of the operating system. I don't like this, then I took out my recovery CD and began the recovery. Everything works fine and I am asked to remove the media and reboot my PC.

This beautiful laptop to start early and... Blue screen of death. Restarts, wonder how to restart... count up to normal reboot... BSOD... restarts, wonder how... I choose "Safe Mode"... BSOD... I choose the mode safe mode with prompt... the system.ini file is missing!

It seems that the recovery CD is bogus.

If someone has encountered this? Does anyone have any resolution?

    Kind regards
    Wim

    Hello

It s very strange because the recovery CD was tested and install several times. It should work without any problems.
I put t know where you come from, but the service partner should install the Windows operating system in the same language. In this case, if you bought the device in Dutch the recovery CD and the OS are in the Dutch language.
Please note that you must use the same recovery CD that came with the device. Another recovery CD will not work.
What you can do is to test the unit with an original CD of Microsoft Windows. It would be very interesting to know if the blue screen appears with the original Windows.

  • Qosmio E10: Question about PX1211E-1TVD Toshiba DVB - T USB Tuner

    Hey all,.
While the analog TV tuner that is inside my Qomsio E10 is OK for now, I'm looking forward to get a Digital Tv Tuner USB from Toshiba adapter.

    HTTP://UK.COMPUTERS.TOSHIBA-EUROPE.COM/CGI-BIN/TOSHIBACSG/INDIVIDUAL_OPTIONS_PAGE.JSP?SERVICE=UK&ACTION=SHOW _ATTRIBUTES & OPTION_ID = 109331

And I have 2 questions about this article on Qomsio:

1 MCE (version 2004 on E10) will be able to use this DVB - T Tuner for me to record digital programs in MCE?

2 "Intervideo WinDVD Creator 2 Platinum for Toshiba" (comes with E10) will be able to see the PX1211E-1TVD so?

If not, what software could be used to record DVB - T programs?
    Later,.

    Hi Alex

You will be very happy if someone can give you a precise answer to your questions. I didn't see this before, but it will be interesting to know if it works with my Tecra laptop.

If seek you information please let me know how it works. Thank you!

  • Re: Qosmio F10 died - question about warranty repair

    Hello

I have a Qosmio F10 to fix and it does not start.
I think that tge THAT GFX disappeared.
I heard that there is a free warranty for this.
I can fix it for free?

    Thank you
    Neo-Tech

    Hello

I didn't hear or read that a laptop would be repaired for free if the guarantee is not valid, it is new to me.
In any case, the Toshiba authorized service provider in your country might help in this case.

I want to say that your laptop initialize not but it s do not know exactly what s wrong
You said that a GPU is dead are you sure to 100% or it s a guess? I think that it s an assumption.

In my opinion it of not easy or not possible to tell what's exactly wrong without putting hands on the device. You know what I mean

Then call a local ASP and ask for later handling cordially

  • Question about warranty for Qosmio G30

I bought my Qosmio G30 in Dubai on July 07. The warranty is valid for 2 years. I travel in Egypt and currently here for a few weeks. The graphics card is out on this subject. I had a friend contact the authorized dealer here in Heliopolis, Egypt, because they don't have staff speaking English.

They said that they charge me 10% on parts when the warranty says toll-free.
I sent them an email and they did not.

Anyone has any advice or a number I can call to get my phone fixed?

    See you soon

What to say boyfriend if your warranty is valid, then the laptop needs to be fixed for free usually cover all replacements!

In most countries, you will find one or more authorized Toshiba service providers.

Please check the Toshiba global ASP from database:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-> support download &-> find an authorized service provider

From here, you can choose an ASP that is responsible for your country.

  • Qosmio G20: Question about networking & monitor in and Xbox

Just bought a G20 last week and I'm in love. First laptop I've ever owned and its worth every penny.

    A few scarecrows.

I never received an antenna adapter to connect my in arial, but I'm sure I sohuld of fact. In the quick start manual of what it listed everything that I should received in the pack, and who was listed. Was not enough one - if anyone knows a number to contact Toshiba and get one of these sent to me? Can't seem to find one anywhere.

Second... I'm going to my brother's computer network. Novice course of network, it does not work that well. I'm not sure whether if we need a router? I just want to connect to his computer and use the internet through that. As you would with a network cable. So he bought himself a wireless network card... but we'll be buggered if we can get it too work. Any advice or a definitive guide... or do we this router after all?

And thirdly, sorry for the long post, but I'm playing my Xbox by the G20, but I'm having no luck what so ever. I plugged the monitor using the three composite cards (white, yellow and red) but nothing that passes through. The only way I've seen a photo is when you set up a decoder and it happens in a small box when its analyses for channels... but I can't select to see and it seems s delay 1 second.

Sorry for the post long-term... just try to make it all sorted.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello

You are right that the Qosmio is a very nice unit.
But I'm not sure about the antenna adapter. I found the information in the user manual that the antenna adapter is optional. In this case the adapter will not always come with the laptop, but you can ask that the Toshiba service partner.

Well well, on the network connection: If you want to connect two computer, you need a crossover network cable if you don t use the router. In addition, two laptop computers must be in the same workgroup. In addition, you must manually set the IP address, the default gateway and the subnet mask in the internet protocol TCP/IP properties.

    On the Xbox:

  • Qosmio G10: Low battery - off after 20 min work life

Hi, I have a G10 for 1.5 years. Last week, the battery 'stops' after about 20 minutes of work. The one second it shows 88 percent and the second second is completely and you need to plug in the adapter again.

No idea what's wrong here? A battery may indeed be dead like this and so sudden?

    Two related questions:
-J' still have the laptop in standby mode. I guess that can affect the performance of the battery, correct?
-Since I was the battery, I was always able to work approximately 1 to 1.5 hours on battery (normal internet navigation stuff). I always thought that this is normal given the notebook power. Today, I met someone who had a notebook of power simlar (other brands) but was able to work 5 hours! So, what is normal for a G10?

    Thank you
    Arnoud
    (Netherlands)

    [Edited by: admin]

    Hello

For me, this looks like a malfunction of the battery.
I read somewhere on the net that battery life will be reduced after 500 time of loading/unloading procedures.
In addition it of important how you manage the battery. Generally, the battery must be freed and then you can charge the battery again.
It would be a process of optimum loading.

I have always the battery if I work with the main power supply. This should not be necessary with a new generation of batteries and laptops but I do this and my battery performance even more.

You wrote something on the use of cell phone only 5 hours on battery.
Unfortunately, but I don t think that. Of course, there are different batteries (9-cell, 12 cells, etc.) supporting better performance, but I put t think it's possible to use the powerful laptop with battery for 5 hours. The G10 uses a 2 hard drives, powerful graphics card, 16:10 display (TruBrite). Sorry, but all this characteristics need power.

However, in my opinion, you must replace the battery. Visit the accessories options 7 Toshiba for batteries compatible and very powerful

  • Re: Question about warranty

    I bought my Qosmio G30-117 24 APR 06.

    Years guarantee how it should?

    Hello Mr. Amon

Guaranteed is always according to the countries, but Toshiba bid one year international warranty for all models of laptops. I put t know where you live, but I know, for example, that the standard warranty in Germany is two years.

With each laptop model Toshiba give documentation where you will find all the information on the warranty. Qosmio G30 is very nice and expensive multimedia computer and really you wonder extended warranty didn t buy it for her.

One last thing: check the warranty visit http://gedb.toshiba.com/

I put t know which model of laptop you have, but make sure that you are using the high quality and 100% compatible modules.

  • Question about warranty service

    Hello

I purchased a Qosmio F20 refurbished. My sister was using last night and inserted a wrong type of card in there by mistake. Now it is stuck! Is this kind of problem under my warranty? (I tried out all night).

    Hey Buddy
It is certainly not a claim under warranty.
You can't put the blame on somebody for this error.
You are to blame for this.
I think that before using something like a card in your laptop, you must read the user manual and check the compatible devices and parts.

In any case, you should ask someone with more experience to take it off.
Let's hope that the pins are not damage
