• Qosmio G20: Question about networking & monitor in and Xbox

  Just bought a G20 last week and I'm in love. First laptop I've ever owned and its worth every penny.

  A few scarecrows.

  I never received an antenna adapter to connect my in arial, but I'm sure I sohuld of fact. In the quick start manual of what it listed everything that I should received in the pack, and who was listed. Was not enough one - if anyone knows a number to contact Toshiba and get one of these sent to me? Can't seem to find one anywhere.

  Second... I'm going to my brother's computer network. Novice course of network, it does not work that well. I'm not sure whether if we need a router? I just want to connect to his computer and use the internet through that. As you would with a network cable. So he bought himself a wireless network card... but we'll be buggered if we can get it too work. Any advice or a definitive guide... or do we this router after all?

  And thirdly, sorry for the long post, but I'm playing my Xbox by the G20, but I'm having no luck what so ever. I plugged the monitor using the three composite cards (white, yellow and red) but nothing that passes through. The only way I've seen a photo is when you set up a decoder and it happens in a small box when its analyses for channels... but I can't select to see and it seems s delay 1 second.

  Sorry for the post long-term... just try to make it all sorted.

• Qosmio G10: Question about motherboard replacement

  I bought the G10 around 2 years there are in the United Kingdom and who now live in New Zealand.

  I would say it has been a faithful companion, but looking back it cost much to get anything done, because of the ridiculous prices of the FSA.

  I experienced a power supply, two hard drives, my touch pad no longer works and now the GPU (graphics card) is dead.

  I'm sure that most of the people on this forum knows, that is, replacing the motherboard because it is on board.

  I am out of warranty and replacement cost is more than a qosmio second hand of the same age.

  Having done a lot of research on the internet about it.
  I found out that Toshiba US will free of charge replace the motherboard. I asked Toshiba AUS/NZ and they refused him, that it was not a problem.

  Toshiba UK/Europe does, or is it just the Toshiba US that cares about its customers?

  I want to share my knowledge on the Toshiba us and Europe.
  As I know the Toshiba us has nothing to do with Toshiba Europe or Australia/New Zealand.
  Portable computers designed for the American market are simply different and also supports different parts and numbers; for example the Qosmio G10 or G20 are not available in the United States but only the Qosmio G15 or G25, etc.

  Yes, it really looks like a malfunction of the GPU (graphic processor unit). This graphics chip is fixed on the plateau and in the majority of cases, the whole Board needs to be replaced!

  I bought a year ago from G20 and I bought an extended warranty on avoid such troubles.

  I have a laptop Qosmio F10, and it crashed in the summer 2006, so I sent it to Toshiba and changed it the motherboard. I got a new version with the nVidia card 6600 and I have 2x512MB PC2700S DDR - RAM (the one that came with it, the one I added).

  Recently, I managed to find a buyer for these Rams, to switch to 2 x 1 GB, so my question is: can the motherboard handle faster DDR - RAM (with 400 MHz instead of 333 MHz like the ones I have) or should I just stick with the same model (PC2700 - 333 MHz)?

  I recommend you to install a program of diagnosis of equipment as Everest Home edition for example. Then check how fast the bus (FSB) front supports.
  If it s 400 Mhz or faster, then you can use the 400 Mhz memory modules.

• Qosmio F30 - question about D-video out

  A few months ago I bought a laptop Toshiba Qosmio F30 in Germany that has a video-D output. There is also a cable included in conversion of D-video to SCART. I tried that with some TVs at home using the SCART, but there was always a horrible fuzzy video signal where I couldn't identify some of the desktop icons. Do you have any idea what's wrong here?

  I don't know about you but in the BIOS settings somewhere must be option to activate the option SCART. Please, enter BIOS settings and check it out.
  Another very important thing is to use the right channel of the TV.

• XboX 360 and Qosmio E10 - question on the Pal settings

  I have problems of xbox 360 game games that require settings to Pal 60 on my Qosimo E10 with Geoforce FX go 5200. I use my nvidia screen set up that tells me that the screen is set to Pal 60, but my xbox says it is set to Pal 50 and will not play the newer games.

  I can access the xbox through the TV connected to the port monitor button.

  Any help would be appreciated

• Question about drivers on Toshiba Recovery DVD

  Has had a HARD drive failure and bought the product recovery DVD, many drivers are unsigned and therefore used to install. Would have thought that Toshiba drivers tire would be signed, have searched the forum for an idea on what to do about and can't find anything.

  Did some general internet searches and found solutions, but I'm not sure if I should do these changes to the system.

  Any thoughts?

  If you install all the Windows Toshiba Recovery disk drivers and tools will install automatically. During the installation of recovery, no error message and everything will be done automatically. So, I do not know what you mean with the drivers won t install.

  The fact is that all the drivers and tools (the entire contents of the recovery disk) is pretested by Toshiba and it works properly. Everything is tested and designed for a perfect use.

  I just purchased a Qosmio F-60 (I am based in the Kenya) and after registration the laptop - my "registration form", says:

  EMEA from 1 to 3 years warranty extension

  I checked on the "Details of the unit" section web site (www.toshiba-tro.de/unit-details) and it says that it is "extended warranty" "1 to 3 years. I just wanted to confirm that the laptop has now guaranteed for 3 years and what level of guarantee? Every bit of equipment?

• Satellite A135-S4677: Question about removing installed Toshiba tools

  Just bought a Toshiba model: A135-S4677... at Circuit City. I see that the Google toolbar already installed. No doubt installed by Circuit City and not Toshiba. Someone has already tried to uninstall this bloatware?

  WHERE´s the problem, simply uninstall google thing. My mother if she had on her machine (which actually us not toshiba) and I just removed it. Everything went well and that the machine works perfectly.

  It is strange that the laptop has been delivered without CD or DVD.
  Usually, you should get the media recovery, Tools & Utilities CD and possibly a Qosmio CD player.
  On the recovery CD, you will find the image of Toshiba. This image that you could install every time. The operating system on this image is already enabled and you don't need the product keys.

• Question about software from Toshiba for Satellite C850

  I'm a bit confused with the "software support" that came with my new laptop. It is not clear what programs are for.

  For example, I opened TEMPRO and he said an update of the bios which I duly installed.

  To be honest, I don't use any of them and both are removed from my system. In general when you get the new notebook you will have perfectly configured OS and everything will work stable for some updates so important steps will not necessary at all. Both applications running in the background and just slow down the system.

  I am planing to buy a Toshiba laptop in the USA and I would like to know how the US warranty works in the United Kingdom. Basically, I would like to know:

  1. where should I register the warranty (American or British)? What is an international warranty? (I might have the product in the case of radio shack)
  2 - the registration can be online (i.e. website)?
  is 3 - possible for toshiba UK to deal with the product in case of fault under the warranty? or I have to post the phone the dealer/manufacturer in the United States?
  4-do I have to pay extra to get a kind of ' international '?
