Qosmio G20: Qosmio player and FM Tuner

I saw a question on the FM tuner in the Qosmio G20 series (and other portable with Qosmio Player). Users responded that the Qosmio Player has no FM tuner! That's wrong!

I did a manual search in Qosmio Player using frequency analysis, and it is possible to scan the frequency range of the FM band. So, I found a few radio stations that I can save. The resolution is not the best but you can easily find radio stations!

Hello

I agree with Togan. The units are supplied with different hardware configurations.
As a result, some units support a tuner and are supplied without the tuner.

  • Qosmio G10-133 - Install Qosmio Player and using the recovery disk

    Hi again.

My g10-133 was the mother of uypgraded installed by Toshiba that there are back and forward in his first year with problems of graphics chip, so they installed the motherboard with the 6200 chip chart.

Until very recently, I installed Windows XP to one of my dead computers that I've ever had anywhere with my original recovery qosmio disc such that it has been damaged. I recently bought an other G10 as I wanted to replace the keyboard and display and it came with disks,

I put in a raw player. I used the recovery of the Qosmio player disc, and this indicates that it is complete. I then installed the Toshiba Recovery disk that has Windows MCE on it. (I have now three original copies of the present). But when windows go to start, the computer gets past the Bios and then quickly goes to the blue screen of death... I tried to use break so that I can read this, but it does not work. I tried more than a windows disk, but not joy. I also had special instructions for Toshiba, which has the Qosmio updater on him, and also another drive which has some additional drivers.

So far, I've tried all sorts and whenever I go to start the laptop, it crashes. The Toshiba recovery disc has two methods that an automatic and a step forward on (which I don't have a clue how to use). The automatic, which does not implement the normal windows installation, but evokes a Toshiba says... and it goes from 0% to 100% and ends each time.

If I use my Windows XP disk from another pc it install fine. and the laptop is fine until it reaches download Windows SP3, which seems to slow everything down.

I would like to install the Qosmio to style factory if pos.

What you need to help your service provider which has replaced the motherboard. A long time ago I heard talking of this and what I know is that the machine must be ready for use: This means service must update the BIOS, verify compatibility of memory, RAID functions are not the same, Bios, EC/KBC and DMI must be updated and rewritten. The laptop owner must be willing to work with new hardware components.

If I m remembering well this new mainboard has different chipset and recovery image that you are trying to install has really bad drivers inside. With other words: after the Exchange system motherboard drivers and the Qosmio Player require an update.

You know the whole process is a bit complicated, but, as far as I know, Toshiba service provider must send you instructions for Qosmioplayer update and instructions for the update tool.

At the moment I can't help you. Please call again and ask for help. If you will not get any help it let us know.

  • Qosmio Player and how to reinstall Qosmio F10

I have a F10-120 Qosmo and after almost a year, its time for a reinstallation of windows... Meanwhile, I never had the qosmio player to work. Can the question I have now, how I install the qosmioplayer... I tried many things, partitionmagic etc etc... anyone of the idea?

    Hello

AFAIK the Qosmio player is installed on the hidden partition.
If you want to retrieve the Qosmio player you 100 MB of free space on the partition further.
I recommend using Partition Magic 8 to create a partition.

  • Qosmio Player read MP3s error?

Tried to play a mp3 DVD in Qosmio Player and I got an error "invalid disc". Works fine in Media Player. Am I right in thinking that music Qosmio Player only reads CD?

    Hello

You are right. The Qosmioplayer cannot read mp3, just the music CD format. Maybe a newer version of Qosmioplayer will be able to play mp3s.

  • Qosmio G30: Qosmio Player supports DVB - t?

The Qosmio television part of my comuter only lets configure analog programs (4 of them). The windows media TV works perfectly and all (73 of them) gives free view digital programs.

How can I get the Qosmio to grant to the digital television programs? Operating manuals and the online manual are silent on the tuning.

    Hello

Seems that the Qosmio Player does not support DVB - T.
I found information that 4.3 Qosmio player and older Version does not support the DVB - T signal. The DVB - T signal can be used only in the operating system of Microsoft.

Seems there is nothing to see! :(

  • Problems with media player and Streaming Online & Essentials

I didn't know where to post this because it concerns problems reading media downloaded and all media and streaming online. In other words, any media. I have now found my problem with the problem and that's coming from MS Essentials and becomes very disruptive. Carefully One I've ever had this problem and it's probably because it was not a free service, however, since I installed essentials the problem has worsened. Also on one of my computers, the update will start just randomly and all but shuts down the system. Yet once, never happened with care. If this problem persists I will launch essentials to another more compatible antivirus protection system. Moreover, it happens with all other types of media also like Real Player and i Tunes so it is not exclusive to WMP.    All resolutions to this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

  • Qosmio G20: Problems with tuner TV and Qosmio player on Linux

    Hello!

I would like to install a Debian's Linux distribution based on my machine... But it looks like there could be some problems with a TV tuner and the qosmio player.
Is there someone who could help me with a viable solution for this?

    Lasse

    Hello

Well, you need a TV tuner driver, but the problem is the LINUX operating system.
There is no drivers for Linux. Toshiba doesn't supports Linux. In addition, you will not find also all the drivers.
All you can do is to use the Windows operating system. The Knoppix and Kanonix are very nice Linux distributions. You can run these Linux from the live CD. You n t need to install anything.

  • Differences of the G20-118 HDD and Qosmio Player

    Hi all.
I purchased a Qosmio G20-118 and theres a small diference between the hard drive.
It has two built in 80GB HD, but in the bios, I see the first HD 79 GB and the second as 80 GB.
Where is the 1 GB missing from the first HD? Qosmio player?
If this is the case, then the RAID function only works with two 79GB HDD so I lose 2 GB HARD drive plus the loss of space for the RAID function aditional. If a drop about 5 GB of HARD drive.
How do I get arround this?
What I need to get rid of Qosmio Player to have two HD 80 GB? If so, how can I get rid of him?

    Thank you!

    Hello

You are right. The Qosmioplayer is preinstalled on the hidden partition. Because of this, the HARD disk capacity is less than 80 GB.

In my opinion the Qosmioplayer is very nice and useful tool and it is not necessary to be deleted. If you want to use any ability of the second HARD disk do not use RAID option.

Do the backup data on an external device. On this way, you will lose 1 GB available on both hard drives of 160 GB.

Otherwise you must preinstall the unit with recovery media. After that the Qosmioplayer is deleted.

  • Qosmio G20 - how to start Qosmio Player mode?

    Hello

I'm sorry, my English is bad.

I recently bought a used Toshiba G20 with no CD. I installed Windows 7 and now I want to install QosmioPlayer. I downloaded the recovery cd of qosmio F10 and G10/G20, player recorded on a CD and installed successfully selection mode [1]. Now, I don't know how to activate the qosmio player? Help, please?

    Thank you

    Good day

It's so old phone model and I m wondering you installed Win7 on it, but if it works well, it's really cool.

I do not remember how it exactly works with Qosmioplayer but it is described in the document of the user s manual to check first: http://Support1.toshiba-tro.de/Tedd-files2/0/userman-en-20071026083641.zip

I hope that you have installed Qosmioplayer correctly. It should be installed on unallocated 200 MB of free space on the HARD drive.
Qosmioplayewr has nothing to do with the OS and it is the small application based on Linux to watch TV, movies on DVD or CD listening without booting the operating system.

    Hello

I recommend you to use a 3rd party product like Partition Magic. By using this software, you can prepare the HARD drive and create 100 MB free and unallocated (must be unallocated) space.

  • Qosmio G20 slow start and restart

My G20 becomes slower and slower when it starts. I still like the laptop and it s design still makes me believe s the laptop more beautiful that I've ever seen (in my opinion still improve the design then the new Qosmio s).

So I m using 80 GB hdd2 in each total of 160 GB disk...
I m using now 72 GB in a HARD drive and 10 GB on the other. So much free space in a single disc, but the laptop is too slow start about 3 min.

I t n planning restore and clean the system of all the
Any advice? Gather the HDD0 and space of two disks will be more fast laptop?

It s 2 GHz speed and 2 GB memory.
    Thank you

    Hey Buddy

You slow startup and startup has nothing to do with the HARD drive space.
Your laptop could start slowly, due to a large amount of processes that run in the context of the operating system!

What you could do, is first the msconfig and disable unnecessary applications in the Startup tab.

Use some applications cleaning CCLeaner (tool free) i.e. to clean the operating system and the registry. Last but least could not defragment the HARD disk to improve performance.

  • Qosmio G20: Media FN and control buttons do not work with XP

Please I need help as its brightness full stuck on and my eyes hurt... lol... no jokes, it's really bad.

I rang the guys TI and they give me just a website, but they don't tell me which driver.

I downloaded the Qosimo drive driver, but I don't know how to use it.

Please help me some1... as soon as possible...

    Hello Franz,.

As a first step, install the Toshiba commom modules, from here:
    http://www.rabayjr.com/Vista/drivers/commonmodulesxp.rar

then install toshiba controls, from here:
    http://www.rabayjr.com/Vista/drivers/controlsxp.rar

After that, you will probably work of toshiba buttons.

For the Qosmio player, you must burn it the image that you download from the website of toshiba on a CD.
After that, put this CD in your Qosmio, press F12, select Boot CD key and install it.
But remember, THIS IS IMPORTANT: If you install the Qosmio Player, this will reformat your hard drive and lose all partitions of HD and data, as well.
Normally you install Qosmio player before installing Windows XP, media Center, Vista. etc...

    Take care

  • Problem with new HARD drive and Qosmio Player installation

    Hi all
I hope someone can help, I had my Qosmio for 2 1/2 years now and recently had a problem with the hard drive. I decided to replace the hard drive, because it was the fastest solution. The problem I have now is that I can't receive TV on media center. I tried to install qosmio player at the disk to see if it made any difference, but when I run the provided recovery disc software tells me that there is not enough disk space! The laptop came with a 60G hard drive and the new HARD drive manufactured by the same manufacturer is a 150 GB, can someone help me out with this would be appreciated.

    Thank you
    ED.

Have you tried to install Qosmioplayer initially, then on operating system? If I remember well, on this first portable Qosmio, it was very important to install Qosmioplayer initially.
