Qosmio G30 - No. HDD recognized during installation of Windows 7
HY, I tried to install win 7 on my Toshiba Qosmio G but after running the installer of windows 7, it does not find the drives to install on. My Qosmio has 2 discs. In the BIOS, they are marked as SATA (I can't change this setting) and the first to RAID0 and the second JBOS.
When you run the installation from my XP environment, I get the message that the AHCI driver is not installed. I downloaded the latest driver for storage of matrix from Intel and upload it in the setup of Windows 7, but it still does not recognize my discs. See a suggestion or an answer to my problem?
Of course, I installed the latest version of the BIOS... it's from 2008-09. Intel matrix storage drivers where very recent 17/07/2009. But according to the website of Microsoft AHCI and SATA drivers must be included in the installation of Windows in any case.
PS the version that I'm trying to install is RC build 7100
Thanks for some comments,
Bert
Hello
First of all, you should tell us what model Qosmio you exactly. There are many different Qosmio models on the market.
To me it sounds like that, you simply use the wrong driver AHCI/RAID. If your Qosmio is equipped with a RAID controller you need other drivers and not the Intel Storage Manager. To install Windows in this case, you have RAID drivers they belongs to the RAID controller.
As said Akuma search site Web from Toshiba RAID drivers:

Qosmio G30-153 too slow during installation
Hello people,
My Qosmio G30-153 takes too much time to install normal programs/software. For example, it took me over 3 hours to install Office XP! -C' is ridiculous. Also it stucks in the first 4 "bars" when I try to install Macromedia Dreamweaver 8. It stucks on the "new" copy files Please what can I do to fix this? -Is that someone has this kind of a problem?
I should send it for service?
For now, I want to install dreamweaver 8 and install 9 hours now. That's half of the process. This is too MUCH fraustrating! Does anyone know how to fix this?
Post edited by: Vasilias
Hi Vasilias
That s is amazing! You need 9 hours to install a simple web application!
It's very strange and I would first say that there must be a hardware malfunctionBut did you install all the applications 3rd? What about the CPU usage? Open the Task Manager and check if there is no strange background on the laptop running process
Have you checked for some malicious software system? You defragment the HARD disk? Please also start the 'chkdsk' for the HARD disk check

HARD drive is not recognized during installation of Windows XP on Qosmio F30 - 140
Dear alls,
I'm trying to install winxp on my Qosmio F30-140, but when I boot from the CD and after Setup starts, it shows me a massage like this:
"windows has not found any HARD drive. Please make sure that you have an and it's probably work and connection very well... blah blah blah... »What should I do to install my OS?
Thank you
Hello
your machine has a RAID controller, so before installing windows, you must install the RAID controller before. This occurs after you´ve began installing XP. Then a message on the bottom of the screen will appear that tells you that you must press F6 if you install HARD drive controllers (or something that way).
You need to install the RAID driver from a USB floppy drive, which can be downloaded here:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jspAfter you have installed the driver for your drive HARD will be displayed, and you would be able to install XP.

Solution: The USB floppy drive is not recognized during installation of XP of RAID
Hello
This Solution is for notebooks Qosmio with RAID driver during (manual installation of windows)
I found the Solution to this problem,
[When you install Microsoft Windows XP by using a floppy drive USB on a player who]
requires a driver during the installation, the USB floppy drive is not recognized in all
installation. When Windows XP searches the driver of the second time, he will not be able to see
the floppy USB drive drive and prompts the user for the driver (RAID) again.
The installation will never reach this point. ]Solution:
This is a limitation of Microsoft, the Floppy Drive are do not appear in the file Windows 'txtsetup.sif.
Simply change the floppy drive in another brand and avoid Usb 2.0 external Usb floppy plus old 1 Try
Also note the back of drive sometimes they write (no bootable) avoid this alsoI personally Test this and it does not work it is "IBM Portable floppy drive" drive silver

Qosmio G30 - 126 - hdd instaltion Win7 or Vista appears
Hi all
I have a Qosmio g30-126 system.
I don't have the recovery CD.
I want to install the Win7 or Win Vista.
It is not showing me the two 200 + 200 HARD drive. Please tell to me what I'm doing.
Hi mate
I think that you don t need a driver SATA, but RAID driver!
AFAIK the Qosmio G30 supports RAID and so you must include the RAID driver.
Visit the page of European driver of Toshiba and download the RAID driver that is listed in the list.Note: Choose the Archive in the Type of product because G30 is an old series.
After having downloaded and uzipped the driver, you need to add this driver during Windows Setup configuration.

Qosmio G30 - BIOS need to be updated for Windows 7
Hey,.
I am trying to install win7 (not beta) on Qosmio G30 (PQG32E with HD-DVD).
I begin the installation, and copying the files on the hard drive. Then the computer restarts for installation.
But every time you start ends in a blue screen with the error: stop 0x0000007E. The text of the blue screen is not little say on an update of the BIOS. But there is no latest BIOS available on the Toshiba site. BIOS 3.90 is installed. There is no other is available.XP and Vista runs without problem.
BIOS with a standard configuration.
Concerning
FileHello
I don't see any question in your message, but you probably want to know if Toshiba will offer BIOS updates. I am sure that nobody here can give you a definitive answer but, in my opinion, Qosmio G30 will be not supported with Win7.
The first series of Qosmio G30 is delivered with WXP MCE and later with Vista. Thus, this model of laptop is quite old. I watched how Toshiba treated with old laptops when Vista was on the market again and not over a year of two laptops have been supported. So I think with Win7 will be the same story. All laptops, not more than one year one or one and a half not will be not supported for Win7.
I think in the future that Toshiba does not update the BIOS designed for Win7.Of course, I wish wrong me about this, but the future will show whether or not it is just my opinion.
In any case, good luck.

Qosmio G30 display flickering and cannot connect to Windows
I have to press F5 to make the visible display each time that I boot. I thought that it was a software related issue and I tried to format the drive with recovery CD original. However, the screen keeps flickering of the stage of the BIOS.
Now, it's even worse. The screen flashes when the turning on and I cannot Ouvrezunesession Windows MCE after formatted HARD drive. After reading the FAQ and related articles, I suspect that it was a problem of graphics (hardware).
My graphics card is NVidia Go7600. Is this true, and it's a must to change the hardware (graphics card)?Appreciate your advice before contacting the local support team.
Thank you very much!
Hello!
That s a strange question. Do you have the same problems on an external monitor?
If a display is flashing, the screen itself is faulty, the FL tube is the cause of the error. I think that is the best, when an ASP (authorized service provider) checks your Qosmio G30.
Here you can find one:

H.Hello
You must visit the Toshiba Support Site.
Once there, you click on "Support", then "Download Drivers".
Specify in the drop-down list what brand/model of laptop you have and the operating system.
It will come with a large list of drivers for your laptop.
Find audio and download and run.
I hope this helps.

Restart the server results it starts successfully and I had to go back to a snapshot.

Hi, Mary
I'm using the Enterprise version that it froze during installation, so I waited around 9-10 Minutes still nothing
so I started keys at random because I was waiting for a long time then restarted my PC and now I can't start my pc.>:-( >:-( >:-( >:-(
Boot from the Windows 8 DVD or USB media that you created
Click Install now
Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 8 click Next.
You will receive the following warning:
The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.
(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK
The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.
Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.
You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

Error during installation of Windows 8
I get this during the installation of Windows 8 in ESXi. My ISO is bad? Please see attached.
I've seen many cases like this recently and it has something to do with the Download Manager, truncating the links and corrupt the image... Try to download the image again, but make a direct download instead of using the MIcrosoft Download Manager.
