Quadrature decoding

Currently, I have a problem for comparison of signals A and B. Since the vi below, I use the feedback node to check the previous iteration (PI) and A current iteration (CI) for the signal, higher than CI PI if it the signal will detect as descendant and if PI lower CI will detect as rising. So, how am I going to build an algorithm to detect if the signal drive B (detect as front amount and returns meter) or signal lead A B (detect as front descending and is down counter)?

  • Good option for quadrature decoding at least 10 channels simultaneously?

    Hi all

I use several modules encoder quadrature Avago AEDR-8500 and am interested in encoding of 10 to 20 of them both for an assortment of EHR. I need the absolute position data so their multiplexing in the channel of a decoder won't work, and they need to taste at least at 100 kHz. Hardware platforms, I welcome are Renault USB or modules for a chassis 8 locations cRIO than i've got. That's all. 20 minutes of research has not revealed any dedicated quadrature decoding hardware modules, so I wonder what could be my best hardware solution.

  • Why not always use a X 4 decoder?

Hello everyone - when using a quadrature encoder when is is benefitial to use a decoder X 2 rather than even if a decoder X 4 proposes to double the resolution angual X 4? Is the existence of X 1, X 2 and X 4 decoders due to the limitation of some Renault which are not compatible with decoding of X 4 and therefore use has no other choice than to use X 2 decoding? Thank you!

    Replica of the wayback machine:

One of my projects early in the CQI data with LabVIEW learning should take action encoder to characterize the movement.  The advice advanced NOT then was E-series, which did not natively accept quadrature encoders.  We needed an external quadrature decoder circuit which would put a pair of impulse and direction that could handle the E-series.

The decoder has a DIP switch to choose between X 1 and X 4 of decoding.  It turned out that the measures of quality of movement showed better signal to noise in X 1 in X 4 mode mode.  Further investigation revealed some significant inconsistency in the AB channels.  The phase shift between A & B signals was not terribly close to 90 degrees and their service cycles were not terribly close to 50%.

X 4 decoding produces 4 pulses per cycle, but they have not been evenly spaced.  This manifests as a fluctuation in speed similar very high frequency adds the background noise of the region we cared about.  For position measurements, we have always used the X 4 b/c despite the systematic phase mode and cycle service errors, he always * some * more information than X 1 mode.

I do not ever, I chose to use the X 2 mode, but I could see its usefulness where error of cycle for the assignment of the encoder is low, but phase error is high.

  • Amnesty International and counter sync + USB signal stream (USB-6210 vs USB-6341)

    Hi all

I'm at a stage of identification of a material suitable for the following tasks:

    • 5 analog inputs (AIs) of reading at the same time, tensions at a rate of kSps (at least) 10,
    • application captures 2 inputs using timers (detection of contours with timestamps), square wave entry with duty ratio of 50 percent and about 1.5 kHz frequency and variable pulse width / frequency (from 2 sensors hall, representative of the DC motor rotation speed and direction, quadrature signals), resolution of timestamps should be (at least) 50 ns,
    • AIs and counters should behave in a deterministic way, and must be synchronized in a way,
    • data to be transferred via the USB port of a host computer with Matlab Data Acquisition Toolbox (unfortunately not LabVIEW).

I've identified the long USB-6210 USB-6341 and potential candidates of material to accomplish the above tasks, but after reviewing several documentation and the topics of the forum, I'm still a bit confused, if both are fully working and my approach described below is not working properly.

Counters: I intend to use the internal time base available 20 MHz as being the source of meter to get into account the resolution of timestamp 50 ns. External impulses hall are used as sample clock (about 1.5 kHz, see above). As the pulse width varies, the sample clock is not constant.

AIs: Using a 10 kHz internal clock signal derived from the time base of 20 MHz for timing and analog inputs (trigger) start-up and counters simultaneously material should translate into the required synchronization and deterministic behavior.

    It work? Other recommendations?

Next is the USB data transfer: all HAVE 5 and 2 data entry of the meter must be correctly transferred to the host computer (the corresponding rates are shown above). USB-6210 is capable of 4 USB signal flow, device USB X range (6341) offers 8 of them. Unfortunately, I could not understand the exact meaning of the expression "signal flow" still. Do I need 1 flow of input signals (would be 7 for my application described) or 1 stream for all analog inputs and 1 for counter inputs (lead 2 streams for my request). Is there no further details on this approach (more than Streaming of signals of NOR) USB signal flow?

Any challenge to the described application that I might have forgotten? 6210 USB seems to a very limited number of entry PFI, maybe even too low for my meter participate application?

Looking forward to your comments and advice.

    Concerning

    jAwA

    1. I recommend the X-6341 series on the M-series 6210 sake of counters/timers.  It is more of them, and each of them is more capable.   It can also have a great FIFO embarked for meters that may be important in certain tasks, although I don't think that you currently deal with one of them.

    2. your general concepts on timing & sync are satisfactory.  You will be able to share and to route signals that help ensure synchronization and determinism between the timestamps for your various tasks.  Note that for meter entry tasks, you need set up the trigger 'Arm Start' rather than the regular start trigger.

3 is not authoritarian, but I believe that the flow of signal # will correspond to the tasks #.  For you, it would be 1 task of HAVE and tasks CI 1 or 2.  (Not clear if you have 1 Encoder with 2-channel quad that would require 1 task of CI, or if you have 2 encoders with 4-way quad).

    4. pay attention to the hall effect signals that are not virgins.  Digital filtering is available and probably better on the X-series, the series M.

    5. strictly speaking, edge detection is a type of digital input task that produces samples but no timestamps.  Ideally, I would like to parallel wires on the two digital inputs for the entries of detection and counter change to position quadrature decoding.   Then I would sample the counters Encoder 1 or 2 using the internal pulse 'event of detection of change '.  I would create another counter timestamp change detects pulses as well.

  • PXI-4071 sampling too slow when using a hardware trigger

We use 3 PXI - 4071 s in parallel to measure with accuracy of high voltages. The program is written using LabVIEW 8.5.1.

An additional test condition has been added which requires the use of a quadrature decoder and the synchronous DMM.

We thought it would be simple, using backplane trigger 0.

    However, something odd happens.

With a low-cut VI that uses a single DMM, we get 100 microseconds time to sample running with internal triggers. However, if the overall relaxation or trigger of the sample is set to TTL0, the sample time becomes so 5.1 milliseconds. It seems very strange that even just definition of overall relaxation, expected to affect only the time of the first sample, not the time between samples, has that effect. The plug for the DMM also said, that the maximum trigger rate is of 6 kHz.

We have confirmed this reported sample time is independent of the speed of the clock actually connected to TTL0. If the clock is faster, it gets the reported sample time. If it's slower, the samples occur on the edges of the clock.

Does anyone know if there is a parameter that has a default that changes based on the source of command and can be changed to work around this problem, you?

I found the solution to this.

Over time the value-1, the DMM uses a short value (less than 100 US) to set hour when, in modes triggered internally. However, he used much longer (about 5 ms) when the value - 1 and with the help of a hardware trigger.

If the running-in is set to 1e-5, i.e. 10 microseconds, "the estimate" returned for conversion period goes from 5.1 ms 100, we and conversions actually occur at a rate set when clocked with trig 0-5 kHz

  • High speed continuous measurement of encoder with sampling frequency of 1 kHz

I am able at all times the position of a linear encoder using a PCI-6602 counter card, and I need to know how to set up so that the counter rotating at high speed, but the data is inserted into the buffer at a frequency of 1 kHz.  I am able suddenly to a hydraulic cylinder, and I am not concerned about the event recording to high frequency except to the extent where they throw off the number considerably if the equipment does not run fast enough to detect all the impulses of the encoder.

Now, I think is that the external sample clock signal control (routed internal pulse output counter) time rate whereby the equipment detects the impulses of the encoder and the rate at which it inserts data into the buffer.  With a pulse 100 per inch encoder and a sampling frequency of 1 kHz, the extended final position of the cylinder is turned off by +/-0.15 inches, which is unacceptable.

I need calculate a speed of this information, so I prefer not to use software timed sampling to control this (it's more difficult programming for other reasons as well - several asynchronous measures).  Any ideas on how to configure the hardware to count faster than the speed at which she inserts counties in the buffer?

OK, you're clearly on the right track here, so I will focus on some details.

    1. How do you know that the +/-0.15 "differences are * measurement error rather than * error of movement?  Why wouldn't be an accurate measure and a proposal which can vary slightly from the nominal value?

    2. I wonder some all electric noise and defects that may produce false edges.  The fact that the behavior was better by using a sampling rate limited (200 kHz) in the digital inputs may be that some of these flaws were so short that they were never captured.

I did a ton of work with the Commission to 6602 encoder and I can certainly confirm that count equipment is sensitive to the edges in a few tens of MHz.  (I know its 80 MHz for edge counting, but I think I remember that it can be of the order of 20 to 40 MHz to accommodate the time of signal propagation extra of the quadrature decoding circuit).

A small point of clarification.  You're talking about the speed at which the meter "works to.  The value of count is a register whose value is changed completely by the circuit, * independent * of the sampling frequency.  If you enjoy with material-clocked County in memory buffer or interrogation of software without buffer not a bit for circuits that increments / decrements the value of the counter register.  (In other words, I am completely convinced that you would get commensurate with position end even if you took only 1 sample software-polled after the end of the move instead of sampling at 1 kHz all the way through.)

So, if the value of the counter is disabled, it is because the circuit detects producers of County of the edges that shouldn't be there.  Something you can try is to set up digital debounce filter for input lines of the PFI corresponding to the encoder Source inputs and to the.

  • How to generate redeclenchables wave AO leave encoder ABZ quadrature on LV8.0 so that Z-pulse restarts the form of wave and pulse A - B clock it

Hard, I try to find a solution how to use external ABZ, quadrature encoder pulse to retrigger and clock repeatedly the same AO signals (and). A and B legumes should clock AO and Z-pulse wave should restart the wave early. Is this possible with card 6221? Can provide you the code example?

    I use LV8.0

    Thank you

    Kevin,

Thank you for picking up the thread.

I understand your example and I already had working direct synchronization of the AO and MAKE the waveforms using external impulses. The problem is that my application cannot invoke the correct number of A pulse will run same waveform for months. I have to use Z-pulse to maintain synchronization in the long term. That's why the task should be redeclenchables.

I have made some progress since yesterday on the use of the example attached 'retriggerable_ao - NOR .vi' and the decoder external t.i. IC, which has transformed two 1024 A, B encoder in dish 4096 pulses/turn. My CO task then divides this frequency to 1024 (4 points per period). This regime of AO - redeclenchables DO so usually seems to work.

The problem now is that this chip must have a clock (~ 100 kHz or more) to work, and I don't want to build generator external too.

Y at - there no way to get all the signals of high frequency signals (100 kHz, 20 MHz or 20 MHz base time) USB-6221 Board any PFI available pine asuming that all of my commitments in Task-resource in this example are needed?

I tried a lot of things yesterday, but all the clock signals are either committed or roads are anavailable. I don't understand why I can't tap into it?

    Any thoughts?

  • Can someone decode this for me kernel panic error message please?

I had some problems recently with my 13 "MacBook Pro, Early 2011. I was able to resolve most of them between the forums and the Genius Bar, but there is still a persistent that even the Genius Bar can't seem to understand. Often, my computer freezes and restarts itself, and recently I had the window "your computer restarted due to a problem". I know kernel panic can be software or hardware related. I just wiped my hard drive (third-party SSD), reinstalled the OS X and restored from a Time Machine backup (but doesn't not restore any network or personal settings, as I was told by the Genius Bar help ensure no bugs/corruptions that affected my machine were installed). A complete hardware and software diagnostic was managed by Apple, where the only problem they found was that they could not read my hard drive and I have recommended replacing the hard drive slick, that I had let them. However, my problem: I have yet to have another random reboot with the new cable, but I am always starting gel, delay and slow speeds. I understood the message of the most recent kernel panic error, but I have little idea how do make sense. If someone could decode it for me and let me know what you think caused the kernel panic, I would be grateful!

Quick notes (it may or may not be useful): I also installed new third-party RAM me, updated 4-8 GB. I also have problems taking videos on Photo Booth. When I do, app causes my computer to lag, and the video does not correctly record (late of video development, multicolor screen during playback, not only audio video, etc.). Check the video card came back clean well.

Those are just broken web pages that are not sending as real characters, but are ignored.

You can decode the text with this code in the Web Console (Firefox/tools > Web Developer)

    E=document.querySelector(".spl-stryMn > span:nth-child(5) > p:nth-child(1)");
    E.innerHTML=unescape(E.innerHTML);
    E=document.querySelector("#special_story > span:nth-child(4)");
    E.innerHTML=unescape(E.innerHTML);

Right click on the text and open the Inspector.
Right click on the HTML code in the left pane and use the selector Unique copy to copy the selection to the Clipboard and use it as a selector in the above posted JavaScript code.

  • How to decode the Last_Date_ field visited in the places.sqlite db?

I opened the places.sqlite file in Firefox SQLite Manager plug-in. I can see the field of Last_Date_Visited and it's a very large integer. I must be able to decode the date and time out of the field for a matter of human resources. Thank you

Try to use this time converter.

Put this whole in Option 2 and hit so far

  • ATTENTION: nsIJSON.decode is obsolete. Use JSON.parse instead.

ATTENTION: nsIJSON.decode is obsolete. Use JSON.parse instead. Symptom. WHN I open a new tab, the creen goes on with my screens recorded, but none of them will load.

Try Firefox Safe mode to see how it works there.

A way of solving problems, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open the mode without failure of Firefox 4.0 + by pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.

Do not choose anything at the moment, just use 'continue in safe mode.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox (without the Shift key) to open it again.

If it's good in Firefox Safe mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one.

    I use WMCE 2005
When I run live TV, decoder error occurs.
    Help me please!

    Hello

AFAIK the Qosmio E10 was delivered with a Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004. I suggest that you have installed the latest version manually.
In my opinion, you should visit the Microsoft Web site to download a plug-ins needed.
    Check this site:
