  I have a very strange problem where metadata are not up-to-date on more than 800 images in my library. I have a smart collection that detects the video not to day of metadata files. If I choose one of these images and type Ctrl-s (Windows) metadata poster as being up to data, and then in a second or two comes to metadata has changed. This happens with RAW and DNG formats files.

  There is nothing running in the background that I am aware of that could focus on these issues.

  I use Lightroom CC 2015.1.1 on Windows 8.1. I have "Automatically write changes into XMP" unchecked, as I prefer to do it manually with Ctrl-s for performance reasons.

  Since LR 3, I'm not aware of any reports that changes automatically write XMP substantially affects performance.

  However, there are still occasional reports that LR is confused about the status of metadata.  LR 4 fixed one of the most egregious bugs with status of metadata, but every now and then someone reports flaky behavior.
